    The reason I held my caliper long ways instead of sideways (perpendicular to the fittings) is because the teeth fit within the threads and would not have been as accurate. Let's focus a little less on the things that dont matter as much, and more about the content, mmkay?

    • @georgf9279
      @georgf9279 8 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +JayzTwoCents That's why you normally hold a caliper SIDEWAYS on a thread - not using the tips of the caliper, but a little bit further, where the caliper gets thicker. Hope you appreciate learning something.

      @wsxgfhccr 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +JayzTwoCents Why didn't you just run the tubing through the hole instead? Save you the trouble of having another 3 fittings and 3 points of failure?

    Nice. I've had an idea knocking around my head on how to watercool an FTZ01. I was thinking of maybe mounting the reservoir externally so I could keep an eye on levels without cracking the case every week or so. The bulkhead fittings would make the actual interface between reservoir, fittings and case look really neat and professional. Thanks Jay.

    Have you used the EK-AF Pass-Through over the Bitspower one before? By the looks of it, the outer thread doesn't seem to have enough grip to fit on a thicker plate, like your acrylic midplate. I am designing a system where I'd like to use all EK nickel fittings and I need to go through a 5mm acrylic plate four places, but I fear their pass-through fitting is going to require an additional flat counter-sink to be able to tighten properly.
    Thanks for a great video. I can add that the names I've come across for these fittings range from bulkhead, pass-through, casetop water-fill, and many more. The Bitspower model name is BP-BSWP-C04 (Black Sparkle -- replace the BS with other version, i.e. MB for Matte Black, etc.).

    Should have talked about rubber grommets, since it is a much cheaper way to pass tubing through walls and/or floors. I mean depending on the fittings, you're looking at anywhere between probably a minimum of $20, to in some cases upwards of $30-50 per pass through. Compared to under $1 per pass through for a rubber grommet.

    My problem is obtaining the proper size bulkhead. The hole is 1-1/2" in diameter, but the shank of the bulkhead must be at least 2", and preferably 2-1/2" or 3". I've been to many Internet stores, but I've found it impossible to find what I want. Can you help? Oh, just to be sure, I will be screwing a 3'4" faucet into the outside end of the bulkhead.
