    One of the great points in this tutorial is the ability to wait for the bird! Time and time again I find myself dropping the barrel and then having to catch up with the bird! (And then missing it as its too far away!). It is hard for me to do and this video helps me reinforce this discipline. Cheers Ben, great videos as usual!

    Excellent once again Ben. Watched it twice now . I like how you pick up on faults quickly and put um right with your clients but also very quick to compliment them as well . Bet Paul and Stam went home heads buzzing , brilliant . Looking forward to the next one 👍

    Thank you very much for this series! It's really fantastic and helping me a lot. I'm busy transitioning from 'move mount shoot' to mostly 'pull away' and your drills are helping a lot.

    Sound is spot on. So far beyond where I am it’s crazy, but still encouraging that the processes you outline are starting to make sense to me. Keep ‘em coming big man!

    Fitasc really is the sport of kings. Feet feet feet. I honestly think people like rough shooter/wildfowlers ie reaction shooters, have a small advantage to those who shoot more shall we say, formal, layouts. It's also fun to let the visiting team throw the hula hoop into the "ring" just to avoid any complaint of bias lolol. Great video Ben thank you !!

    Great video! I am a fan but have a very different approach to shotgunning. However the section on footwork (moving the front foot, not the back) and the drill where you load only one shell for singles are things I’m definitely going to incorporate into my game. Thanks!

  • @anthonysorrentino4695

    Just watched it again. It would be cool to see the students(pretty good shooters IMO) shoot first, then get corrected by Mr. Husthwaite.

  • @chadnolte9134
    @chadnolte9134 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Ok. Ben, just an observation, but watching Paul on, I believe the third station, in slow motion. Looking at his left forearm “grip” he is white knuckling with his thumb and all fingers almost all touching the barrel and re gripping. If he pointed his index finger down the barrel and lighten his grip just a bit, would that give him some flexibility to execute the shots better. It seems like I can read the tension he has in a target that he is not confirmable in shooting.
    Again great lesson. Mic is working great. I like the change in breakpoint from singles to doubles.
    Take my opening observation as an amateur that may not know what his is talking about if you like. You are the pro and just want to know if there might be something to it.

    Good content Ben.You can detach the audio track if you wish to avoid the ''Lion King'' sound effects on the slowmo.Most editing programs will do it.Can line up the shots via the waveforms or whatever.

    Benno, the technique where you place the left hand in front of the target at the required lead, isn’t that maintained lead? Or is that a modification of the ‘slice’ technique?

    ok having only shot four times a lot of the info i felt went right over my head ?im a way behind that standard but im trying to watch as much as i can if only to get used to some of the terminology,the one thing i spotted was Ben was shooting top barrel first?most iv looked at say theres not a lot in it but bottom barrel is recommended the most? can anyone explain if theres a difference or just personal choice???

  • @Fendermanpaul
    @Fendermanpaul 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Why are you shooting top barrel first? I was always told bottom first unless the first bird needed more choke which is usually in the top.

    Is that something you do often or was it just because of the flight of the clay?

  • @KS-vs7ht

    Mr. Husthwaite. I noticed you were shooting the top barrel first. In the US. I was taught to shoot the bottom barrel first. Is there a difference other than choke selection or does a gun pattern different like trap guns? Cheers and thank you.
