    So this is just essentially a long gravel road for atv/utv use

      I wouldn't say that at all. It is a former railroad line with a lot of history, beautiful scenery, lakes, rivers, forests, small country towns with good people, and even a ton of wildlife to see. I absolutely love sitting back and taking it all in.

    That's an awesome trail I'd love to ride. It's actually part of a series of ATV trails that starts just south of Superior, WI and appears to end in Fergus Falls, MN. About 150+ miles long total.

      Soo Line South Trail isn't open to ATV's all the way to Fergus Falls at this point. You can get as far as the Mississippi River Bridge by taking a trail along side the original railroad grade for the last couple miles.

    How long did it take you from upper Michigan to Moose lake Mn on atv? Where did you camp along the way? Hotels? Or tent? Please let me know, we really want to take the trip. Thanks

      @@DennisFamAdventures Nice - my family's cabin is near Garrison and so I drive under that bridge when I go up there. I've always been curious on what that bridge was. Thanks for the insight.

    DennisFam Adventures: impressive work! I'm thinking about riding a mtn bike on the Soo Line South from Moose Lake to the Mississippi. I couldn't tell from your film, if you went all the way? Please let me know!

      yes, we live in Upper Michigan, but we travel to Moose Lake once or twice a year for the last several years. We usually take the Soo Line South Trail to the Mississippi River as that is about as far as an ATV can go on this trail. We have also taken the Soo Line North trail which also crosses the Mississippi much further North. The third direction you can go is up to Superior, WI from Moose Lake which we have also done a couple times.

      A bit longer of a video than I usually make but was hard to cut out so much beautiful scenery. As it was, we cut from over 2 hours to make an 11 minute video.

      Called the Soo Line South Trail. Basically runs Southwest from Moose Lake. There is also a Soo Line North Trail that runs northwest from Moose Lake. I have a video of that trail too

    Where is a good place to stay while riding in Minnesota

    • @DennisFamAdventures
      @DennisFamAdventures  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      We usually try to get in the Moose Lake Lodge, formerly a Americinn and Days Inn. Sometimes we stay in Duluth or Superior and trailer to start in Moose Lake.

    It would be cool if they put the trail next to the railroad tracks and put train cars on the tracks too

    • @DennisFamAdventures

      Yes, my love for trains is one of the reasons I enjoy riding on the ATVs. I especially like to see the old depots, bridges, and equipment left behind.

      If I understand you correctly, it is wooden planks running the length of the bridge deck, 4 rows of them.
