@@Abram2020 its a short term loan for tanks that you dont drive often.. besides, there are certainly tanks that just dont fit into todays meta anymore.. or very few people need a 252u + a defender.. there are also double tanks.. so there are a lot of reasons to sell xD

If you already have one which you purchased with bonds, do you get gold compensation? Or would it just never award you one if you already have one, and award you a different premium tank?

I actually DID buy one with bonds, and I find it to be a fun "meme" tank, but it's definitely not for everyone, and I do not recommend that you buy lootboxes to try to get one.
@@syncmonism They changed the drop so that a garage slot is added then it selects a tank not in your garage if you have them all you'll get gold value. Plus you can pay 250g and re-roll your loot drops up to 2 times if I recall right. These tanks just aren't worth the cost.
Just tried the tank recently, in 2024 it´s awful. You get thrown into many matches matched against tanks that are just on another level. The kv5 is from an old time when weakspots where a thing. Nowadays you get into matches against defender, 0bj 703, bz176 and you are at a massive disadvantage. Yes you can have good games, but the odds are heavily against you.
Truth. Had a fun match where I got a lucky bounce from a bz176 and then ram pushed him off a cliff during his reload. Fun for the memes but that's about it.
KV-5, 56tp, Gonsalo are the reasons why I am not buying this event, at all. I refuse to get stuck with these crap tanks that I will never use. There just no reason to justify the expense, these event boxes are total garbage.
@@animalyze7120 The problem is that you can just get the KV-5 with bonds. Its ramming potential is pretty insane though, and the combination of good dpm and large hp pool can still make it dangerous at close range.
I love my kv5 my most played tank, 3 marked and can still be fun. But mostly you face tier 9 and even vs other tier 8 it is outmatched in nowadays wot. Would like it to receive some buff for the gold ammo and gun depression (many tanks can facehug kv5 with impunity currently), and armor on the mantlet (many tanks can autoaim pen kv5 turret front currently).

Raming is a thing, but were it really excells in "manhandling" other tanks. That thing is heavy and has a powerful engine. You can simply push most other tanks around. But you have to play it with two additional fellows in a platoon. It's good at driving out, bouncing some, tanking some and then push that pesky other heavy tank around. Yes, you will take damage. Maybe you will visit the garage, but you broke that painful stalemate.
I loved my kv5 when it never saw a tier 9, WG really killed the fun when they nerfed the rear armour, you could rush past the enemy and shoot them in the rear 🤣
While it's greatly outclassed by almost every single tier 8 in 2024 and it's extremely hard to make it work, I actually had a lot of fun and found good use for it in Frontline, especially on attack
the Kv5 is a tank that when u got enemies with low pen (mostly lower tiers) your just can go rush 5 tank and survive but when u play on tier 8 , 9 u gotta be more carefull and the pen is also not great still if i woud get it from boxes i woud be happy (if i didnt already have it)
i bought for bonds i think. not my go to tank but i do not hate it. crazy how much you can bounce even in full t8 games. a speed buff would be good. i used to use removed speed govs. was not happy about them being removed.

Turbo and hardening is a must, i'd personally drop spalliner for grouser if you wanna go full ram mode, since the traverse speed on this vehicle is a bit slugish
@@Abram2020 Few years ago. They increased penetration and armour of front cupolas. It had 167mm of penetration and the cupolas were huge weakspots back then.
Question, from all the tanks listed for this event are all of them only available via lootboxes? Like the reskinned Skoda T 56? Or is it just the ones under the 7 other premium vehicles?
The sole reason I will not buy loot boxes is 2 of the tanks I don't have are the KV-5 and the Gonsalo and I do not want them. Not gonna pay $50+ per box because as it always happens the older crap drops first and the only tank I want will be the one drops after I get stuck with these 2 lol. If they would allow you to pick your tank after you get the tank drop I would be more than happy to pony up for some boxes. Sadly all I ever get after my budget is spent are the tanks I didn't want but am forced to keep so they don't repeat drop in later events. Never buying boxes again so long as they add crap filler I will get but never use or want over what I paid the money for.
The KV-5 is only fun as top tier. Once it goes against T9 tanks, it suffers badly from low pen and armor that will not hold up reliably against T9 guns. Ramming is great IF you get the chance.
If it were a Tiger 2, you would not need to feel bad for it and Skill would not be as careless facing it. Unfortunately for the player, it was a Tiger 1.

Contributor MM at its finest: 3 Times palying against quite iditic playing lower tiers.... sometinmes i wish i had that too. On the other hand i have more of an issue with Rng. Its even more fun to play, when you actually get penned in the front of the turret by T8 TDs or T9+ tanks.
I have over a thousand battles in it, and yeah it does suck. You can have some of the most fun you will ever have in the game with this tank, but these battles are fairly rare. Most of the time you get penetrated easily and you're just an xp pinata. The redeeming part is that the gun handling is decent and the dpm is good, so you can dish it out pretty quickly as well. But the ramming power of the tank, which is probably the best feature, is situational and you don't get to use it every game.

It's the best rammer but the gun is nice too despite rather low dmg for tier 8.
I think that is due to the fact in never saw tier 9s when it was launched, so is now underpowered.
