So awesome. I think it is a perfect fit, for Kenny and the WSX. Look at how good Kenny has been this season in the USA, and a more relaxed, yet even more "fun" event with global destintions, perfect for him. And HEP has done wonders with the Suzuki. Also looking forward to seeing Savatagy too, he was kicking butt in the USA this year.. oh.. the Hill Brothers too doing so well. Keep up the good work WSX. .. wished I lived in Australia so I could have at least applied to get a job with you guys when you first started!!
My first thought on the series was that its a novelty that won't do well because the top riders already race in the US, but after watching 80% of the riders here end their seasons early with injuries and the parity it created with the rest of the field, I think the quality of racing will be better than people expect. Those 2nd teir professionals are still professionals and are getting better season after season, so I dont see the product as inferior as skeptics project. A lot of the top guys are from other countries as well so its not like the US is superior in talent. Bringing the sport to other markets can only help the sport grow even if the series fails, which is still a positive gain overall.
I agree bro!!! Im a huge MXGP fan and I hope we get to see Tixier do well!!!! Along with the rest of the Euro guys. I don't consider the Euro guys '2nd Tier' just because supercross isn't their main sport. They're DEFINITELY top tier in my book. They deserve an easier route to race SX.
Indeed, and those "second tier guys"... they are still THE BEST top 40 SX guys in the world. It is a niche sport, a dangerous sport and any guy who can make the mains regualry in the USA, 250 or 450, and the Euro guys stepping up to do to MX, they are all great competitors and I look forward to them racing!
As the series builds, hope it does!!! Would make sense to have 2 races in Canada, 1 or 2 weeks apart. And so many fans from around the world could make it a one week long Canadian vacation, so good for Canada as a whole. I would certainly try to visit Canada if they had 2 races
Happy to hear he's gonna be racing the next 3 years, but then again kinda bummed he's not gonna be in outdoor. Outdoor is steadily losing more and more of the field either do to injury or other reasons. But I get it financially for Ken as well as defending his Championship and actually having a full season with more than 2 races. Either way happy to see him anywhere on the Zook.
That is cool!!!! But.. I live in Tokyo... wish it was here... but dirt bike sales in Japan are down 90% since 2000!!! Too many soft "herbivore males" as the Japanse press calls them.

That actually could be a great partner for WSX, by having the SR the weekend before, it would make each location a "Destination" tourism event/location which is HUGE for the tourism sector in all kinds of sports, hobbies, cos-play fan events etc etc. Local tourism boards, local governments are so keen to attract big tourism events. This could be win/win all round!
Kenny is such a likable guy it's sad to not see him continue in the smx series but he's the reigning champ at wsx so he's got a job to do and I don't blame him.

You gotta understand, the rest of the field (Jordi Tixier, Cedric Soubryas, Maxime Desprey, Dean Wilson, Joey Savatgy, Cole Seely, etc) Have all been training all year for WSX. Yes they all may not be as fast as Kenny, BUT they can chase him, and will eventually rubber band to him. Just my beliefs. The other guys will become very fast by the time Kenny Retires so it will work out just fine. I'm also a die hard Kenny fan, so if he repeats the championship this year I'll be satisfied for sure. Considering FIM is putting the whole thing on; it makes the series very legit to me.
