I love this. Joel really describes the essense of shooting street photography and the 'intuition' or sixth sense as he calls it that a street photographer develops. Henri Cartier Bresson was a master of it!
Very well described observation about the flow of cities and differences between US and Europe. I can definitely relate to that as I've noticed the same phenomenon, and once you figure out that flow you learn how to plan and visualise your shots, as Joel describes, predict the conditions.
Have you seen, guys he's documentary back in the 80,s ? Amazing, how he works in the street, so relax and aware of the surroundings ! And how fast on framing and shooting !
@@pixiedixie3682 watching it right now! he's really phenomenal in the way he describes his process and philosophy of street photography! thank you for mentioning it here
He's good, no doubt, but would he have "gotten on" without Jewish connections in the media and art world? Ditto Andy Warhol, though admittedly not a fraction as talented. Much too much racial cronyism going on in NY and London also - blocks a lot of other talented people from getting fair exposure.
I could listen to Joel all day ❤

The 6th sense - I love it
Joel should go to Berlin, I walked a street for three hours straight once there.
