Holy crap. I just played v1.4 on DOSBox and the last trick before the prince rejoins with his Shadow on level 12, the glitch that allowed his to skip the last climb, worked.
I played the game religiously as a child, I think I learnt about 40% of those on my own, but the other 60%, no chance in hell I would have worked them out.
Despite your comment's age, I will respond. I discovered this glitch spontaneously. I think it is just that the prince neither touches the ground nor changes the level after the grasp, or maybe it is just a question of code speed.
Cause the game has been programmed if he comes down by left side part of ledges the spikes will work but here he jumps and holds the ledge beside the spikes.
I still can't figure out how to jump pass the guard. Only did it once and I don't know what I did.... :S I do use some of these hacks - like getting passed the skeleton or the level 7 jump etc...
no need for megahit cheat when you kow such tricks in this game!!!!.For an unexplainable reason i play this game from 1995 and 20 years i havent found these secrets.But some of them are glitches i guesss,the one where you steal the sword from your ghost
aw wtf the glitch on the 4th level seems to be quite hard to do... or mayb my version cant do it... dunno... tell me if u have a good recipe for it anyway... i tried to do the same as you, but it didnt spook the guard... or maybe i didnt see everything.
I could be called the absolute champion I guess cuz I used to complete the whole game in 20 minutes without dying even once and I never used any cheats (didn’t even know they existed lol)😎😛

I mastered the level 4 and 7 tricks but some others like jumping through the first guard in level 1 are extremely hard, the timing must be perfect.

When you don’t hit the floor above the choppers they don’t respond

the health potion which shadow steals in level 5 is added back in level 12 after fusion with shadow ...
