Shag+Mullett=SHMULLETT Haircut on Curly Hair

- Hey everyone,
I felt the need to refresh my haircut & thought I'd try something new. It's kind of a SHAG & it's kind of a MULLETT so I just call it SHMULLETT. 🤪
I am always up for doing something I've never done before. I know my hair, I know how it 'behaves' with every length as I've been cutting it for a long time. I know that even if I make mistakes, it won't affect me terribly. Keep this in mind in case you'd like to try this cut.

I want to grow my hair longer, but every time I get to a certain length my curls look really weird and sad, so I cut the layers and always end up with the same length I've had for ages lol
Story of my life! 😃 Only difference is, I go crazy and cut a pixie every 2-3 years, then grow it out, start layering, back to a pixie again, and so on... 🤡
I have the same problem,but i solved it using hair mask for curly hair and its ok now.
I’ve always wanted to do this kind of haircut but the hairdresser could never get it right so I decided to do it myself. This was so helpful, besides you look like such a nice person😭
I followed this guide today bc I have a similar curl pattern, I have the sides of my head shaved all the way so what I’ve got is a Mohawk shullet. It worked really well and my hair looks a lot more intentional and structured now, thank you for this!

since my hair is way different when dry vs wet so it's risky for me to cut when wet, just like to pull up a few reference pictures and kind of "shape" it when its dry, and now I'm trying this😊
You definitely need to know your hair, how it behaves when dry or wet :) Let us know how it went :P

🙃 Hey Ola, if this is your first time doing this type of cut, I'd say you should watch one of my other videos:

It is basically the same cut, but with a much easier method. There are 4 parts, and yes, you cut off a similar length from each layer BUT I'd say always cut a bit less first, let it go, see how it looks on your head, and go back in if you feel like you want it to be shorter. I've been doing this for a super long time, so I eyeball a lot of things (as I know where the hair will fall). Also, keep in mind that curly hair shrinks, so leave it longer first. You can always repeat the whole cut a few days later if you feel like you want it to be shorter.

Hi! ☺️ I love this cut (the only thing is that I took too much off the bottom which I mention in the video). The good thing about this cut is that it grows out flawlessly, and to keep the layers, I just did a similar cut every 2-3 months (you can see as I uploaded the videos on here). 🙂
