I'm glad you gave a fair and honest review of the hotel. That was hilarious. We spent a week in Cocoa Beach to see about maybe moving there one day and every afternoon we were watching the cruise ships leave. That is so much fun!

I wanna spend some time in Miami during the night, it looks so cool; although, I am sure it is pretty expensive. I have only been during the day before or after a cruise. You would think the hotel room was have some color in the rooms or something with it being on the beach. Oh well, the cruise made up for it :)

OMG the street magician was awesome. I saw a levitating street magician in San Antonio who was great. I paid him "a lot" of money to learn the levitating trick for objects. I still use it today. My grandsons kindergarten class like it and says WOW! Great video!!!!

The time you guys came to Miami it was a "cold front" November its still 80's even in December we have 80 degree weather! Btw loving seeing tourist's points of view on what i take for granted everyday ... The thing you saw them building was for Art Basel its a week long event with international artists and that was part of Scope. And the magician (his name is Magic) he has been on South beach for i think almost 30 years now. Im shocked you didnt go check out the Versace mansion on 12th street. At 19:15 the two story bar on the corner with the outside deck is my job lol i am so sad i missed you guys! And yes those hotels on Ocean Drive are really sucky with the exception of a few... you are paying for location .. NOTHING else! (sorry for the long post, just so excited about you guys being here!)

Such a nice park. We were there when we went on our first cruise. NCL Escape, Eastern Caribbean, June 2016. We spent 3 days in Miami after the cruise since we had never been there (and Barry Gibb lives there - I’m a fan).

That hotel reminds me of the one we stayed at on Venice Beach in CA. Beautiful location, short walk to the Santa Monica Pier… but the hotel itself was horrible for the price. Bed was hard as a rock too and no water pressure in the shower. 😬
Will look elsewhere for our pre-cruise Miami hotel. Thanks 😊 ❤️

I didn't get a chance to go to Miami Beach's main strip at night, so it was nice to see what it was like. And that's the issue with older hotels...they have a lot of history, but they can be lacking sometimes. Hopefully, they're working on that now.

Make sure that when you bring sand back from the beach onto the ship, it is in your pocket. If you put it in your backpack or bags, the security staff will take it when you go through x-ray coming back onto the ship.

We were also wondering what the big buildings on the beach were for. They were up by the time we got back off the sunrise that week. I don't thing we ever did find out what it was for. It was a massive setup to be temporary.

heads up on that sand... and they will usually tell you on the ship... but it is against rules to bring sand back sand - they will confiscate it at security check in going back on the ship! Not sure if it is all ports, but we heard it many ports in the Caribbean. My sister tried and they took it.

For the sand, look for small, unusual style bottles that reminds you of the place... Then, if you want, you can get the bottom etched where it's from and when... Would make a beautiful display piece with enough of them on a shelf or a coffee table... Just an idea...
Then, just to make it even more eye-catching, seal the bottle with some wax ( again the colors can remind you of the place or time of year ) and let it drip down the sides, like a certain bourbon company does with their bottles...

BTW....I REALLY like the music you use to shows the sights of the place! 👍 Thanks for doing these videos, I feel like I'm going along on a vacation while watching, plus it's inspiring me to seriously consider Miami for next year 🤔....it's so fun there!! Couple of fun facts ~
The park is Bay Front park and home to Ultra music festival end of March with over 50,000 attendees UNTZ UNTZ UNTZ 🔊
Bayside has the Mojito bar with the best mojitos ... sorry that Miami Vice was skimpy on alcohol and high in price 👎🏼
Where you saw the first white Ferrari near South Point Park is Joe’s Stone Crab restaurant which is only open Oct to May DELICIOUS and expensive 🦀
The temporary structure on beach is one of many locations for ART BASEL.
I would’ve sent back that “burnt” sandwich back 😉
COLONOSCOPY made me seriously LOL 🍑
Oh and the “magician” has an attachment on his right thumb that he hid from ya 😜 🐰 🎩

I work in hospitality and I can tell you Priceline, hotels.com, travelweb, Expedia, or any third party company is a pain in the butt! Let's say you're looking up a hotel in Miami for example, and you're looking up a certain hotel by name, brand, location on the internet. You find something you're looking for and it's one of the first links you see in your search. What these third party companies don't tell you is they're using these hotels as click bait. You see the hotel its perfect for you, you make the reservation. Well what the third party website is doing is not telling you that they're a third party company so you wind up paying them and then they pay the hotel extra because we allow them to book rooms at lower rate. So when you see that awesome deal, it's not that awesome bc they add on booking fees and what they pay the hotel is often a lot lower than what you pay. Plus they only cover room and tax, they don't cover incidentals/resort fees. So always look at the fine print when booking your reservation. If a hotel asks for incidentals it is only an authorization. Not a charge. For example, at the hotel I work at, we authorize $20 per night for incidentals and this is in case you charge personal charges from the bar for a Michelob Light or have a sweet craving so you want to grab a candy bar or want to have room service or eat in the restaurant and want to charge to the room. Then we have a card on file to charge these items to. If you don't want to charge anything to your room, the amount authorized for incidentals/resort fees goes back to your card. Not all hotels do this but most do. It never hurts to call the hotel in advance to ask these questions bc fee amounts change. It will save a lot of trouble to book through hotel/brand directly. Plus when you book through a third party website it is often non refundable non concealable. But if you book directly with hotel or brand you have a cancellation period between 24 - 48hrs prior to your arrival you can cancel without a one night penalty. After that though often times you're charged a one night fee.

    • @bmac327
      @bmac327 4 ปีที่แล้ว

I agree 100%! I’m the sales manager for a Downtown Nashville hotel, and third party sites will often omit information, such as resort fees and parking charges. The hotel had no obligation to waive the fee as I’m sure it was listed on their site. This happens to us all the time with our parking fee. A third party may list “parking with a fee” while not listing the actual amount, which leads to the hotel having to waive parking that shouldn’t have even been a discussion since it’s written clear as day on our site. As far as the line in the TV, there is a possibility the hotel just doesn’t care. There’s also a more likely instance where it had not yet been reported by a guest.
