At some point since you may wish to do pressure/vacuum experiments, maybe weld a steel frame into the entry say 3 feet in and seal it. Not only could you safely store your gear at the site, you could produce an extra CO2 rich atmosphere for long term hydroponics testing to see how much CO2 a plant can live in compared to the relative sparsity of earth's atmosphere, even at a reduced pressure. That way, should you find yourself in Martian tunnels, you would have some idea just how much pressure and non CO2 type gases you had to have to ensure the plants did not die [and more specifically lived well enough to convert oxygen and produce fruit, as well as how much water loss (from reduced pressures) might affect the plants long term (either for good or for bad)]. I sure hope you find that the mineralization richens up to something you can justify extracting! That would just be the coolest! *\(^_^)/*

I watched it again, you can clearly see the video glitch a bit just before the shadow starts acting weird. looks like he sectioned off the left side of the video and glued on some separate footage.
With the grass looking green and the light the way it was in the video, the countryside looked a lot like the fells in the Lake District, England. Amazing to see somewhere on the other side of the world looking so similar to somewhere close by.
The shot just towards 3 minutes of you recording yourself walking out of the mine was a perspective i've wanted from this series for a long time, you always record going in- few times you have recorded going out. Interesting video as always, love what you do. stay original. Cheers.
I know this is probably not within the realm of what you'd consider possible, but hey, you like to do crazy things. Would there be a way to sufficiently seal the mine at the front, hook up a vacuum pump, let it run for a few hours/days, and see how low of a pressure you could get?
SebastianScarlet I just realized that he could use his giant air compressors intake as a vacuum pump to move a lot more air. Idk though I don't think it would pull a very good vacuum, maybe a good mars simulation though?
Thinking something similar, however, I rather thought to pressurise it, so that it would be similar to a situation on Mars where your habitable space is a few ten hPa above outside. Also would be interesting to see if it would be a viable option to line a cave with a membrane/foil compared to bringing pressurised containers there

I get what you're saying. But there are situations where reforestation occurs even into a very dry climate, if certain steps are made at certain times. Besides, Cody lives with the ideea of surviving on Mars, maybe terraforming it again, also. :) So... it would be an interesting experiment to carry on here on Earth. I think his huge intelligence would be challenged by doing that. He is a little creator by definition anyways! :)

I'm surprised there weren't more mentions of Cody's glowing plants. He's tired from moving rubble, then again happy things can be said to "glow" even if not literally.
Wearing a respirator in a mine is dangerous because there's a very limited amount of oxygen in a mine, and there's no way of telling how well ventilated the mine is either. Wearing a respirator also makes it a much more difficult job because it makes it harder to breathe so you're draining the oxygen supply around you much faster. So in conclusion, not wearing a respirator would be a better choice.
You can see where he split the frame. Pause at 11:47, I thought it was his wife at first but you can clearly see an upward bent elbow while both of his hands are downward bent.
A funny trick with your arm's shadow at 11:46!! Seem you had cut the left half of the scene and joined with other that matched your shoulder position, funny and clever!

Hey Cody, have you ever considered using a tannerite explosive (Obviously a a blasting cap is needed, Mercury Fulminate should work I think). You should try this with small quantities at first, a 5 pounder would probably do just fine, and if it works you should try to considerably multiply the amount of explosives used.
I recall bringing some 'creeping charly' out to Shelter Bay to plant it on the hillside of my mom's summer camp, and a small fir tree I found, and it worked nicely :) chuck

If he seals the mine and fills it with CO2 then he will need to use a gas mask each time he enters the mine, proper ventilation is quite important.

Hey Cody, have you ever considered using a tannerite explosive (Obviously a a blasting cap is needed, Mercury Fulminate should work I think). You should try this with small quantities at first, a 5 pounder would probably do just fine, and if it works you should try to considerably multiply the amount of explosives used.
