- This is one of my favourite hymn tunes and I'm often asked to play it, so here it is with my cobbled together last verse harmonisation. Constructive comments only please. One day I may even invest in a video camera.
I am using the organ that Hauptwerk comes with but I have re-voiced it considerably and added a Nazard on the Swell and two 32ft stops on the pedal which may be audible at the end. I am not using all the stops in this recording.
I’m very familiar with another setting of this hymn, but this one is new to me. Thank you!
Peter, what can I say, took a look at your selection and found yet another Hymn and tune that I love dearly, it fondly reminds me of my school days, and played beautifully. Thanks my friend X
Thank you.
So pleased you're posting again! Superb playing - very uplifting, and a real blessing.
This tune brings tears in my eyes. Good wishes from India.
As an echo of other commenters, good to see you recording again! Nicely played too!
Love all of your uploads! Marvelous hymn interpretations. Looking forward to many more.
Paul, I'm so very glad you are back posting. Your hymn playing is very good!!!!
David-
Thank you David. It's Peter :-)
Glad to see you back in action, handsome.
Love the final verse!
Thank you :-)
Awesome!
Enjoyed that Peter, listened though this via my Bose head phones - a great sound!
Hey Rob! Thank you, it has been years since I heard from you and ages since I did an upload. I'm trying to get back into it. I love Welsh Hymn tunes.
@@Goodchappy Yeah it's been a long while, at the moment I'm unable to play due to covid 19 that wount happen till the foreseeable future! I love the Welsh tunes too!
@@RobCharles1981 You need to get yourself an organ at home like I have. Problem is I get stuck to it.
@@Goodchappy If I win the lottery or if I notice a decent Organ needing a new home then yeah why not :-)
Bravo! There are a few good tunes for "Love Divine" but this one really takes the prize. Your last verse re-harm is superb - not jarring like some can be; on the contrary, it really adds to the emotion of the piece. Well done!
Thank you Jerry.
This sounds wonderful and I really like the words written out. Now just 3 more hours. How does Rx do it?
Richard McVeigh who I assume you refer to, is so passionate about organs to the point he appears quite emotional about it. Frustratingly I think that if I practiced for 24 hours every day non stop for the next 10 years, I'd still not be anywhere near as good as him. Having access to an organ to practice on, on a regular basis helps and obviously professional tuition and experience in Cathedrals helps a lot. I am more or less self taught with guidance from watching TH-cam and about 10 organ lessons over 30 years ago. I guarantee that if Richard played the default Hauptwerk organ as I did here, it will not sound as good, but he wont because he doesn't need to :-). *sigh*
goodchappy thanks for good comment. Keep up the good job
Great Tune. Tad more Reverb would have made it sublime! Keep up the good work!🎶🎵🎹
Who do you think I am, Richard McVeigh?! I could add reverb but then it wouldn't be the natural reverb in the church. 🙂
@Stephen Schmidt Thank you for your comment. I quite like the natural reverb here, it's not a dead acoustic but also you can play fast without it becoming a muddle as it would in a Cathedral.
Nicely done. You should do more like this. Is this really not a real pipe organ?
Thank you. I hope to do more, I have stiff competition (not that it has to be a competition) in the form of Richard McVeigh Beauty In Sound Channel! What he does, blows my mind. I need to improve my sight reading. I can assure you it is all coming from my computer, I'm not even using a special sound card now as my quality external sound card is not supported on Windows 10.
