Heroes. We throw the word around a lot. I can say without question though, that the men and women involved with firefighting are truly heroic. In the air, on the ground, or in the fire itself. Hats off to their bravery and selflessness.

They have picnic table inside the plane? People sit in there and eat? I wonder what else they do inside the passenger compartment or if they ever use the plane for anything else besides fighting fires.
I know something else California can do to reduce the size and quantity of wildfires; more controlled burns, and less water usage for almond crops specifically.
Ever imagine a fireproof box measuring 80w * 80l * 40h weighing 25000 lbs and fireproof up to 2500 degrees F in a design that will adapt to the terrain down to the last inch ? Easily liftable with a Mi-26 helicopter. No carcinogenic fire retardants nor insane water usage. A.) A fire needs air. The inside of these boxes could contain a non-toxic fire suppression gas. B.) A fire needs combustible material to spread. These boxes melt at 2500F and won't ever see those temps. Without anything to burn, the fire will go out. C.) Boxes are reusable and quickly relocated. All that's needed are a lot of these huge fireproof boxes and heavy lift helos to cover all the combustible stuff that keeps these fires burning. These fires could be extinguished in hours using common sense. So start building huge fireproof, airliftable boxes and have a 'firewall' handy for future fires. Sure, it won't be cheap to construct huge concept boxes like this but it can be done and once built it will be a foolproof way to stop massive wildfires !
They do great work and they save lives. And I think that's fantastic. But the way we manage our forests and woodlands is terrible. Fire is a natural thing. If you put out every fire, all you do is accumulate undergrowth that feeds the bigger fires in the future. It's not just climate change. That's causing wildfires. It's the management of our forests
1:13 Where the seats are well where why don’t they put some tanks in there look it’s so empty so they could refuel in air or anywhere I don’t think it would weigh to much the plane has 3 engines so it should hold up
How about Water Bombs like a huge type of water balloon bomb shaped, made from a type of rubber with evenly breaking points designed equally around the balloon to explode evenly on impact by Gravity drop to earth where Wildfires exist to help smother fire directly on ground in collaboration with existing practices by hitting these Fires High and Low. These bombs can carry water , gel , foam and fire retardant as well In collaboration with existing practices. And from a technological view maybe even laser guided for precise impact on point .
