I mean both are entry into Swiss luxury. And long’s are nice but.. better than a tag? .. imo these models may be close but the heritage of a tag heuer is MILES above long’s.. whatever you like is what you should buy.
Go to a shop and try both watches. You can feel the difference in finishing and the difference in design quality. I went in thinking of buying the Longines after hearing so many bad things about the Tag Heuer brand......I bought the tag.
Although the Longines is a good watch and looks good, I prefer the design of Tag Heuer. I have quartzes and automatics, and quartz is not a deal breaker.
I always have to laugh when people say "This milled clasp will last longer than a stamped steel one". They might want to talk to owners of 60s and 70s Rolex and Seiko divewatch owners, wearing those things for many decades. :)
I was gonna get this Tag Heuer in white. This is the 3rd video that I heard the same thing about this particular watch! Omega seamaster, Breitling Navitimer 8 automatic day date 41, Breitling superocean 42, Zenith, Cartier, and Longines is in my wish list. I have 5 Citizens, @ the moment. I like em! But I have 2 admit, after seeing thes top dollar watches! I cant help but have atleast 2 of them in my collection!!
You little boys just don't get it. You know what you've been taught. It's a plus to a LOT of people to have a nice mid level quartz, toss it on wrist and run. No winding, no service and no setting time. I have a nice collection of mid level autos, but it's nice to have that quarts that's always running. Sure, I could get a winder, but I'd rather have another watch. Your reviews are getting increasingly painful to view...
I bought Longines automatic with grey dia I, ceramic vessel. I thought it was really nice until I tried adjusting the links. Unfortunately links are surprisingly big. So if u take out the last link it would be either too tight or too loose (unless your lucky) And micro adjustment is useless bcoz there was only 3 holes. And the pin only fits on the first hole. Shame on Longines for selling $1,600 with micro adjustment issue. I returned it and bought another tagvheuer.
Hello, what kind of movemt use this th. I don' t understand. I have a 2018 quarz aquaracer, they say my eatch use an eta 955 112. Is it a good quarz, it is not a flat line but a normal flat line, like the web site of eta say. Thank you and bye.
I've got 3 tags and only 1, the 1988 2000 is any good. My 2008 F1 wac111a is the worst watch in my collection. The Aquaracer WAY2112 is a beautiful watch but the calibre 5 movement is brittle
Name matters too, especially in watches, which are more a statement piece than a time keeping piece... Seiko (non Grand Seiko) and Longines don't come close to Tag as a brand.
I have a Seiko skx009 with its the legendary mechanical automatic mechanism, but I am also looking to own a quartz watch. Why TAG Heuer? Because I want to have a entry TAG Heuer with quartz because it has its legacy in Formula 1. It is a beautiful watch, with a legacy in Formula 1, so why don't have it? Automatics are great, but quartz is much easier to use.
I don't think any watchmaker would be caught dead with a TAG strapped to their wrist. BUT, this review requires some intervention...first thing - the F1 was the first Tag H model to be released in 1986. Fair call. It was quartz then, and any modern interpretation should remain quartz. The second thing - the black bezel is a throwback to the 1986 fibreglass/metalized bezel that in itself was a cost-saving invention at a time when all swiss watch makers were on the edge. Third thing - BOTH Tag and Hauer were F1 sponsors respectively. The coming together of the brands culminated in the iconic F1 watch. Lastly - for Christ's sake don't compare anything to a Longines. They are garbage on wheels
@@bighands69 TAG have a Swiss movement, but not their own - in the past they have bought parts for their high end autos from Seiko - acknowledging them as the very best avaialabe. Seiko make everything themselves, even if their cheaper watches are assembled elsewhere. Bag them and reveal your ignorance. Seiko invented quartz, and single-handedly almost destroyed the Swiss watch industry with quartz and their high quality autos. $4$ Seiko's Japanese made watches piss all over any Swiss . I have a Seiko SARB auto that would easily be a $1500+ watch if a Swiss brand made it. Ask any watch collecting nerd - they give Seiko enormous respect.
Yes its overpriced.i got one with rubber strap but only paid 100 for it and i really like it.and personally i like the look of it better than the longine (if i spelled that rigth) so i see why people would pay retail for it
Of course it's overpriced, it's a Tag. Tag watches are about accuracy, so putting an auto movement in it is pointless. Agree that a Victorinox watch is as good.
The reviewer talks more about the formula ones competitors than it does the watch itself. That is not really a review. It might be a good comparative evaluation, and it might be good advice on all the other watches in the market that you should buy, but it's not actually a review of the formula 1.
Oops, maybe you should read a little better before reviewing watches, or simply look at the back of the watch? This Tag Heuer is specified down to 20 ATM - 200 meters. You mention 100 meters, which is completely wrong. Then there is nothing wrong with this type of clasp, they are very durable and also save some weight. The quartz movement is also one of the best from Switzerland and significantly more accurate than the mechanical in Longines, is that a problem for you? Do you get paid by Longines? Do your homework, please!
Is issue is that quarts movements cost next to nothing to make and you can buy the movement in this watch separately for around £20 but tag are selling it for a little over 1k
@@shotgunmcshotgun1142 the thing is that auto movements aren’t that much more expensive. An automatic eta will be about 150 dollars, while a Ronda Swiss made quartz like in the tag is usually 60-80$. So yes, a difference, but not a huge one. It’s still the matter of brand name first
But everything from Tag is generally discounted from 30 to 60% off the retail price even when purchasing brand new. That same watch goes for approximately $650 brand new. 🤷🏻♂️

Tag forever
I was gonna get this Tag Heuer in white. This is the 3rd video that I heard the same thing about this particular watch! Omega seamaster, Breitling Navitimer 8 automatic day date 41, Breitling superocean 42, Zenith, Cartier, and Longines is in my wish list. I have 5 Citizens, @ the moment. I like em! But I have 2 admit, after seeing thes top dollar watches! I cant help but have atleast 2 of them in my collection!!
Except... collectors buy watches not just because of quality, most buy because of the brand.
I got the black ceramic Longines, it's so damn beautiful, I'm lucky I got perfect fit with the last micro adjustment.
Have you ever seen the clasp on a Rolex Submariner? My friend has one and that's a head scratcher too. For the price anyways.
You must be talking about a pre ceramic submariner. The modern Rolex clasps are the best in the business
Hello, what kind of movemt use this th. I don' t understand. I have a 2018 quarz aquaracer, they say my eatch use an eta 955 112. Is it a good quarz, it is not a flat line but a normal flat line, like the web site of eta say. Thank you and bye.
ETA belongs to the Swatch group. ETA movements are well respected and are pretty decent.
It has a Ronda movement. You don't need more than that in a quartz.
THE BRAND AND NAME MATTERS!😂😂😂
I've got 3 tags and only 1, the 1988 2000 is any good.
My 2008 F1 wac111a is the worst watch in my collection.
The Aquaracer WAY2112 is a beautiful watch but the calibre 5 movement is brittle
I dont know which Watch I should buy... This one or the Maurice Lacroix Aikon(Quartz)?
And?
@@TheGimboo bought none of them
😂
@@IM0nsterzZlDEl and what was final decision?
@@TheGimboo nothing 😂
I like the more simple plain tag huer . Got the white one
Mine is 200m water resistant, he says it's 100m?
Name matters too, especially in watches, which are more a statement piece than a time keeping piece... Seiko (non Grand Seiko) and Longines don't come close to Tag as a brand.
I have a Seiko skx009 with its the legendary mechanical automatic mechanism, but I am also looking to own a quartz watch. Why TAG Heuer? Because I want to have a entry TAG Heuer with quartz because it has its legacy in Formula 1. It is a beautiful watch, with a legacy in Formula 1, so why don't have it?
Automatics are great, but quartz is much easier to use.
Great review especially when comparing to longines. You just convinced me not to buy it.
they upgraded the clasp to push button in 2020 with better swing arms
Great review
Basic Tag F1 quartz are as good as 250 dollers Citizens; they just have sapphire crystals.
How much price?
Tag is Tag 😊
you can get it on amazon for about 710
How you guys never compare about the looks? Tag looks way better.
Totally agree. Most Tags are handsome looking watch. The looks should be one of the most important thing
Check out the prices seiko is charging for a spring drive quartz. Ridiculous..... The Tag is almost a bargain. Lol
Tag are made in Switzerland and cheap Seiko are made in greater Asia. No comparison.
Ask any watch collecting nerd - they give Seiko enormous respect.
bighand69 grand seiko is made in Japan to a stupidly high level of quality
Have four and a omega and sub rolex love my tags
Is anyone else thinking about that no one actually buys a watch to see the time or to have certain specs but because it just looks so nice
Yes i agree
Please Revisit the Tag Cal 16 day date .. or the Cal 1887..
Yes its overpriced.i got one with rubber strap but only paid 100 for it and i really like it.and personally i like the look of it better than the longine (if i spelled that rigth) so i see why people would pay retail for it
How did you get a Tag for 100 dollars?
You must have got that out of a christmas cracker
Come on, you can't campare TAG with Seiko 😂
Why not?
Harsh assessment. I love it. You'd spend it because it's a Tag.
How about a Longines automatic 300 meters for just 1k ?
Tag Heuers people are crazy!
Tag is much better! It’s not a diver why compare.
Do not listen to this guy.
Of course it's overpriced, it's a Tag. Tag watches are about accuracy, so putting an auto movement in it is pointless. Agree that a Victorinox watch is as good.
How do you explain the automatic tag watches then?
Why are you comparing it with a dive watch that looks like a homage to a sub🤷🏻♂️ At least the tag is it’s own thing
Bought the F1 for 500 bux win win
Automatic movement isn't all that...
The tag has 200 m water resistant buddy
For future: show the sides and back of the watch. Showing the same for whole movie is not good.
The reviewer talks more about the formula ones competitors than it does the watch itself. That is not really a review. It might be a good comparative evaluation, and it might be good advice on all the other watches in the market that you should buy, but it's not actually a review of the formula 1.
I ONLY PSID $700 BRAND NEW IN 2009 AND THE NAME BRAND MATTER TO THE NON WATCH WEARING PUBLIC!😂😂😂
Several details you missed bubs
It’s still the matter of brand name first
Well I got hold of one for 200 dollars 😏 because I work in a pawn shop so how’s that value for money 💰
prob fake
Sebastian Nadales lmao well it’s not I can promise you 😂
Comparing a tag to a seiko?😂
Exactly Seiko have a bad finish and markers and all aren't the de quality , it's like BMW and hyundai
@@downsouth1678 More like VW vs Toyota
@@vast634 but at least toyota is not made in china
The tag 200 meters
U Pay for the Brand!!!!
But everything from Tag is generally discounted from 30 to 60% off the retail price even when purchasing brand new.
That same watch goes for approximately $650 brand new. 🤷🏻♂️
from where?
