You need the depth especially if your target is hidden in a big plug. I have had that problem before.

I don´t know, but 40 is quite misbehaved. It picks false signals, then freaks out and when I reset it (or to factory reset), the signal is gone.
Otherwise if something is there, it finds it. Turn on and off or triple checking makes the searching somewhat cumbersome.
Is Garrett more reliable? Thank you!

I have noticed some of what you are describing with the 40. I've used several brands over the years and the Garrett has worked best for me. Thanks so much for watching. Good luck with your digs.

Minelab needs to step up and make their pinpointers heard over their headphones just like with the Garrett.

@@DigginArkansas - In people-loaded Park areas, I don't like drawing attention with an active pinpointer. I prefer the silent mode of headphone use.

Fisher is ok as well or xp 6 or 4 as well got the lot had a top keno win for years never had one all ways had coil did the job.
