I’d read a few articles about the FS Fighting Knives, including one written by an American collector but the chances of finding and owning an original Mark 1, FS Knife are slim to nothing, especially when it comes to cost.
One of the best modern knives that you can get, one that is loosely based around the FS Fighting Knife, is the Eickhorn FS2000. Eickhorn are a long established German Knife manufacturer and they’re based in Solingen. If you handle one of these Eickhorn knives, then you’ll instantly understand what it’s primary use is, a surgical tool of death. Like the originals, it’s exceptionally sharp but the blade isn’t shaped like the FS originals (any model), being of regular width along its main length, until you reach a point where a tapering point is required.
If you can’t find an original, or afford Paul’s version, there’s always an Eickhorn.....just don’t stick it in your arm like I did....😬😜😂😂😂
I invested in several original fs daggers, they are iconic. Incredibly beautiful in a sinister kind of way.
My first pattern is literally my most prized possession (other than my dog)!
I wish it could tell me its stories.
I still have two of my dads fighting knives,40 Cdo ww2.while in Italy a local made a wooden plaque with RM badge and motto,in exchange for army rations.The plaque sits between the two daggers pivoted at the hilts.One dagger is a Wilkinson sword, the other looks like a Sykes fairbairn
