    Thanks for the video. What would you recommend as the right image size to use for a t-shirt? I am trying to use Printify but don't know the right size to use because I don't want to lose quality. Thanks

    • @rmas
      @rmas  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For a full print on a typical adult t-shirt, you would generally want your image to be around 12-14 inches wide and 16-18 inches high, which translates to about 3600 - 4200 pixels wide and 4800 - 5400 pixels high.
      However, the specific dimensions you need could depend on the exact product you're choosing, so it's always best to check the guidelines provided by Printify for the specific t-shirt you're using. They'll typically have a recommended pixel dimension for each of their products.
      As always, remember that your original artwork needs to be of high quality. Enlarging a low-quality image won't lead to a good print - it will just make the low quality more obvious.

    I like the idea and the process shown is solid, but how are u upscaling the img? MJ outputs at 72dpi. You need minimum 150dpi If you want good quality prints. You'll just end up with a buch of customer complaints and returns/refuds to deal with if you send that out at 72dpi.

    • @rmas
      @rmas  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you can resample an image from 72 dpi to 150 dpi in Adobe Photoshop. Keep in mind that increasing the resolution of an image can result in a loss of image quality, as Photoshop will interpolate new pixels based on the existing pixel data. However, if you absolutely need to increase the resolution, follow these steps:
      Open your image in Adobe Photoshop.
      Go to the menu bar and click on "Image" > "Image Size" or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Alt+I (Cmd+Option+I on Mac).
      In the Image Size dialog box, you will see the current resolution, width, and height of your image.
      Make sure to check the "Resample" checkbox if it's not already checked.
      Choose a resampling method from the dropdown menu. For upsampling (increasing resolution), "Preserve Details 2.0" or "Bicubic Smoother" is recommended.
      Change the "Resolution" value from 72 to 150 dpi.
      You will notice the dimensions (width and height) of the image changing as you adjust the resolution. If you want to maintain the original dimensions, uncheck the "Constrain Proportions" or "Aspect Ratio" option, and manually enter the original dimensions.
      Click "OK" to apply the changes.
      Keep in mind that upsampling does not add detail to the image; it only increases the number of pixels. The best way to obtain a high-resolution image is by capturing or creating it at the desired resolution from the start.

    • @rmas
      @rmas  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      you can use AI-based methods to upscale an image. These methods typically provide better results compared to traditional upscaling techniques, as they use deep learning algorithms to predict and generate additional details based on the existing pixel data.
      There are several AI-based tools available for image upscaling. Some popular options include:
      Let's Enhance (letsenhance.io/): A web-based service that uses AI algorithms to upscale images and enhance their quality. The free version allows you to upscale a limited number of images per month.
      Topaz Gigapixel AI (topazlabs.com/gigapixel-ai/): A standalone software that uses AI to upscale images while preserving details and removing noise. It's a paid application, but it offers a free trial period.
      ON1 Resize (www.on1.com/products/resize/): Another standalone software that uses AI algorithms to upscale images while maintaining image quality. It's a part of the ON1 Photo RAW package and also offers a free trial.
      Adobe Photoshop also includes an AI-based upscaling method called "Preserve Details 2.0." To use this method, follow the steps for resampling an image in Photoshop as described in the previous answer, but choose "Preserve Details 2.0" as the resampling method in the Image Size dialog box.
      These tools can often provide better results than traditional upscaling methods, especially when dealing with low-resolution images. However, remember that AI-based upscaling still cannot fully recover lost details, and the best results will come from using high-resolution images from the start.

    • @rmas
      @rmas  ปีที่แล้ว

      Investing in a t-shirt printer and sourcing blank shirts directly from manufacturers like Gildan can be another effective way to lower production costs and offer more competitive prices for your products. Here are some advantages of this approach:
      Lower production costs: By buying blank shirts in bulk and printing them yourself, you can save on the per-unit cost, which can be passed on to your customers in the form of lower prices.
      Greater control over quality: Having your own t-shirt printer allows you to control the printing process, ensuring the quality of the prints meets your standards.
      Faster turnaround times: Printing t-shirts in-house means you can fulfill orders more quickly, leading to improved customer satisfaction.
      Customization options: Owning a t-shirt printer gives you the flexibility to experiment with different designs, materials, and printing techniques, allowing you to offer a wider variety of products and options to your customers.
      However, there are also some factors to consider before investing in a t-shirt printer:
      Initial investment: Purchasing a t-shirt printer and related equipment can be a significant upfront cost. Be sure to factor this into your budget and business plan.
      Operating costs: In addition to the printer itself, consider the costs of ink, maintenance, and other supplies required for printing.
      Space requirements: A t-shirt printer and related equipment can take up a considerable amount of space. Make sure you have adequate room to accommodate your printing setup.
      Learning curve: Operating a t-shirt printer and managing the production process may require some training and practice to achieve the desired results.
      If you're confident in your ability to manage these factors and believe that the benefits outweigh the potential challenges, investing in a t-shirt printer can be a great way to lower costs and offer more competitive pricing on your products.

    • @rmas

      Thanks for your comment. While I understand that using AI technology to create art may seem less creative to some, I would argue that the process still involves a significant amount of creativity and decision-making. As the artist, I have to make choices about the input data, parameters, and algorithms used in the program, which can greatly affect the final output and make it unique and original.
      Furthermore, the use of AI technology in art creation is a relatively new and innovative field that is pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the creative arts. It allows artists to explore new forms of expression and to create works that would have been impossible or difficult to achieve using traditional methods.
      Ultimately, what is considered creative and innovative in art is subjective, and it's important to respect different opinions and perspectives. However, I believe that the use of AI technology in art creation has a lot of potential, and I'm excited to continue exploring this new and innovative field.

    72 dpi gives you terrible print quality, would not suggesting using this

      For direct-to-garment (DTG) printing, which uses a specialized inkjet printer to print designs directly onto the fabric of the T-shirt, a resolution of at least 150 DPI is recommended. However, some DTG printers can handle higher resolutions, so it's best to check with the printer manufacturer or print service provider for their recommended DPI.

    You're not creating anything. You're stealing by proxy. Midjourney trained the dataset on copyright protected images without permission. They''ve been served with a lawsuit.
