    This is my 11 year olds favorite book. He came out of public school with grammar gaps and this has been a blessing.

    I absolutely LOVE Fix-it Grammar! I teach it at our co-op and several of my kids are finally all old enough to do it together! I’m planning on using it in our Morning Basket next year.

    We have used Fix It Grammar in the past year--we stopped using it with the older one just because she's really too advanced (we were attempting to make it a family subject...) but my mom has finished the first two books with my youngest sister now. Being able to print the student pages multiple times is so helpful!

    My oldest is doing Fix It Grammar for Robin Hood this year. He actually really enjoys it! I actually think I want to do this during morning time with all the kiddos next year. Obviously my first grader won't have to participate. Now that I've seen my middle schooler work through it himself, I'm pretty sure I'd actually enjoy "teaching" it. Usually I'm not a lecture/interactive style teacher, but these are short lessons.

  • @momofmany8117

    Hi, I saw your video yesterday about Fix It, Grammar. I'm planning ahead for the next school year. We have switched every year for our grammar.
    I like the concept, but can a child really learn the grammar principles by only doing one sentence per lesson? Are there supplemental pages for each lesson?
    What do you do for writing?
    I'm looking into this curriculum for my 4th grade and letting him try it out before I switch all of my children.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I find they learn their grammar better this way because there not just memorizing facts they are applying it. The company also puts out Grammar flash cards with the different concepts taught and we will review those from time to time but other then that we don’t supplement. We use IEW’s Structure & Style for writing and love it too.

  • @happynewmom

    • @PenniesAndSalt
      @PenniesAndSalt 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have several 3rd graders in my Co-op class and they are doing wonderfully! With the first book I think you could definitely stretch it to 2nd grade if they are pretty solid in handwriting, reading, and basic grammar. If anything you could assist the younger ones.

    Hey! Curious if you think Grammar Galaxy would work well alongside Fix It Grammar? Also, in terms of Fix it Grammar, is it paramount to start at book one? My son needs 6th grade level curriculum. I am afraid book 1 will be terribly boring. Thanks for any input you can provide.

    • @LifeintheMundane
      @LifeintheMundane  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I definitely think you could use both curriculums side by side. As far as where to start I would suggest asking the IEW customer care team. They are extra helpful and can help you pinpoint the exact level that is best for your child.

    Is FIG something I can use while also still teaching reading? My son is 7 and a decent reader but were still doing our reading curriculum so He probably wouldn't be able to do much independently.. He also doesn't enjoy handwriting. I don't want to overwhelm him but he's also interested in making up stories.
