good vid, whelps! covers a lot of detail and options. fwiw, i think it's important for viewers to not get it twisted - heavy has never really changed. it's not that heavy's gotten buffed somehow, it's a series of nerfs to light, and the subsequent change to medium dodge that's left heavy as the longest pole in the tent. there is a non-trivial dmg difference between light and heavy, but right now the trade-off between medium and heavy is a no brainer (10% base dmg reduction for basically double the armor). so i agree in the sense that if they don't do anything to address medium's identity crisis, then maybe a slight dmg nerf to heavy is to be expected.
I run the same build, not nearly as optimized as I have yet to get all my gear, but I can tell you it'd because it's not very helpful. Butcher already makes it last really long, so it's better to get a damage perk.

Been playing GS/Hatchet in heavy and it’s ridiculous. Empower from serenity allows me to hit like a truck. With full empower stacks I switch to hatchet, pop berserk with keen berserk perk and plagued crits I melt everyone aside from pure tanks. Super high mobility and with second life I rarely die. Shirking heals/fort along with stamina perks and reduced evade costs from hatchet makes me damn near invincible vs 2/3 players. With a healer? Forget about it. Edit:typos

At first I used scorpions sting (plague strike on it before the buff) and the named sword from genesis, now I am using pvp backstab/fort perf/plague crits with butcher and a bis buckler...it all comes down to dodging, debuffing properly, and knowing what the enemy has on cd or not.

Vault kick is my build! :) Very fun build. Your skill reduction isn't the best, you should tune a little bit for right rotation. I'm using "refreshing reach" and "Aggressive maneuvers".
This is why i say that armor needs balance is not fair that heavy doesn’t get really penalty on dmg they should give armor penetration to light melee dps and add penalty to heavy

Whelps highlight clips does not indicate OP. He can get these clips with literally any build. The real nerf needed is healers. If you don’t have a healer and the other team does, you lose.

I totally agree! Heavy loadout is definitely over powered right now. Heavy makes the game very boring in my opinion and un-enjoyable to play as a medium or light melee vs it currently. Heavy with shirking heals, high survivability and crowd control is fine. Being great at supporting your team is amazing for heavy loadout but It just cant be doing the most damage simply because it can survive the longest in a fight compared to other loadouts. Also, most heavy players use sword and shield which means the mobility of the heavy loadout is just way better than it maybe should be for a tank. Hopefully they come up with something to balance the heavy loadout properly soon.
Funny you say 20% dmg reduction on heavy because I've been saying that since launch. Light 20%, Medium 0%, Heavy -20%. Heavy is to take damage not take it. Basic logic, but we all know AGS operates on a realm far too advanced for our own understanding.

naw dude, it has nothing to do with his clips/vid.. its very obvious and known know how op heavy is. even the best war companies have so many heavies now, all the dex/flex/assasin roles(that arent only range) are playing heavy now. there r a host of reasons and changes that have made heavy so good, but mainly that with heavy u can still get very high damage.. in the pastr u could never be a heavy assasin, u wouldnt getthe kills.. u would just hack away for ages. but now, specialy cuz we have more attribute points, and other changes, with heavy u just get almost the best of everything. also, a light melee playa these days can only make one mistake, n gets zeroed real fast. in heavy u can make so many mistakes.. so its also easier for newer pvp playas. but its undenyable now, how op heavy is in NW pvp.
S4 literally gonna be full circle right back to day 1 of new world. Paladin builds or mages gonna be the only viable option to play and everyone is just gonna use heavy armor. Literally the first 6 months of the game all over again.

I wouldn't like a -20% dmg on tanks but removing shirking heals from heavy armor perks would be great idea. Or reworking self healing same way as output healing. With this build u have only 15k hp and with self healing nerfed the armor wouldn't be enough to be immortal like now
As with ANY Heavy build, standing in a Sacred Ground basically turns you into a raid boss.....as the last 10 minutes of this video clearly shows. Yes the build is strong, and Whelps is an amazing player, but sacred ground is still the best skill in the game. It warps every fight it's involved in to a ridiculous level.
The crying has to stop, you notice there is no gear check on randoms that que for arena. Whelps is playing in heavy bis, using spear as all players know is the best weapon in the game. Now let's add in use ice gauntlet for weapon instead of spear use hammer instead of spear. Everything he does falls off and he does nothing remove shirking heals gear. What we really should be discussing is why light who has been the meta for a year wasnt nerfed earlier? Heavy doesnt need a damage reduction light players simply need to understand fortify changes means your not going to be able to trade equally anymore in CC. For 90% of opr he has a dedicated healer so let's ignore that part while he is crying balanced in sacred ground

Idk man ranged attacks are really strong light armor dodge range is further and damage is higher imo sure nerf heavy damage put then u need to make all dodges the same distance
A little tip how to use javelin 100% more effective: Hit your throws. :o) In your videos you're missing 85+% percent of your shots which makes this skill really useless. But it doesn't matter if you just farm bots at their base with triple cap and the broken T3 outpost buffs.

People are quick to complain about the simplicity of the meta, but forget the skill comes with knowledge, awareness, and experience.
GS empower will drop on weapon swap. Edit: I stand corrected, the Balanced Blade perk does remain on weapon swap. wow

Heavy players coping in the comments. Even if he had a healer in light for alot of situations you couldn't dream of tanking more than 2 people.
The coup de grace on sweep sucks though. Sweep into cyclone or perf for guaranteed hits and lots of burst

I would like to see you play vs Boltcasters. Play your build vs melee is one thing, another is vs rangers in light armor.
