Mines too! You can really baby your hair when doing it yourself. I noticed so much length retention when I took a break from stylist and excessive heat! Thank you for watching 💕
Going on 3rd month of a sew-in all I've done is clean my scalp w/ Vinagar twice, haven't had itch, any irritation NOTHING,.. and I have Psoriasis! Yep, scalp maintenance is key.
Hello. Thank you for watching 💕 Most people think grease is a moisturizer ( like I did 😆). It’s actually a sealant and scalp protectant. If your scalp is already healthy it will prevent water loss by locking in moisture... but if you have dry scalp it’s helping none at all. That said I always say... if it works for you keep using it! Do what works.
Hello. Thank you for watching and sharing!! I’m literally just finding out about apple cider vinegar to clarify 🤦🏾♀️. I’m definitely going to give it a try!
Good morning darling. I ordered the unlay moisturizer. I received it yesterday. My hair is shoulder length and I’m looking for length mid back. I love your hair.
How are you darling? I need your help please. I wrap my hair every night when I wake up, I cant find my hair net and my hair bonnet. I need something that will stay on and secured. 🙏 thanks.
Yesss! It took me so long to realize that your hair needs breaks from manipulation. Once I did though....so much growth and retention ❤️ Thanks for watching
Same for me. Like she says you have to do what works for your hair. I hear what she’s saying about the grease but my hair thrives best when I grease my scalp.
The most annoying part about protective styles like braids for example is the amount of hair loss I face when I take them out. I just took braids out and nah it really bothered me that I lost so much hair...
Its true braids can put a lot of tension on your scalp and thin your hair. Also, relaxed hair is more prone to traction alopecia so I understand the frustration. But honestly knotless braids have so little tension and I hardly have any hair thinning with them. Also if you get JUMBO or LARGE braids the less tension on a small section... so less likelihood of thinning due to tension. Have you tried them? It really made the difference for me. I’ll never do traditional braid again lol. Thanks for watching 💕
Girl I feel u. I felt everytime I did small box braids it was a step back in my hair growth cause of how much breakage I'd get...I'd recommend if your doing box braids to do them big and knotless or try to do twists instead and crochet hairstyles where your hair is braided underneath
Ok instead of hair grease can you use Hollywood Hollywood beauty like coconut oil, tea tree, argan oil to make sure that you don't get flaky scalp to make sure that you don't get hair grease buildup which is the best one to use but when you have braids will work instead of hair grease
Great tips what should i do when i workout 5 days a week very sweaty workout. Can i still put my hair in like braids under a wig and maybe keep it in for a month just to wash it ??? Or should i go for the 3 months straight without washing it? My hair breaks off because of the sweat i wash once a week but its still very dry and sheds so i want to keep it protected..😭
Hello! Thank you so much ❤️ I actually already have this video on my channel. I just uploaded my three month braid refresh. I will try and link it below. th-cam.com/video/fp-iiN3MbFA/w-d-xo.html
Thank you so much, your vlogs are so informative...I have one quick question how often do you trim your ends, right now I'm dealing with split ends and I don't know if I need to clip off a little after every wash any information would be greatly appreciated...🙏🏽❤
Hello. Thank you for watching 💕Glad you are finding the videos helpful. As for your question, I trim only 2 times per year when my hair is healthy. Usually every 5 months when I relax. If I notice split ends I will have my stylist do a good trim at that time and start using hair repair/strengthening products. After my stylist cuts off my split ends I usually won’t trim again. I’ll focus on healthy hair behaviors and repair products to do the rest.
@@IannaYvonne Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, when I say since I started following you and listening and trying your techniques I can see a vast improvement, thank you so much I'm truly grateful 🙏🏽💜
Hello. My hair has highlights and I’m also relaxed so I’m very prone to dryness. That said I use moroccanoil hydrating shampoo. It doesn’t lather too much to strip my hair. For conditioners I go drug store lol. I use Shea moisture Jamaican black castor oil strengthen and restore conditioner ( protein) and their manuka honey intensive hydration masque ( moisture). Thank you for watching ❤️
I noticed my relaxed hair loves oils better than cremes which after 31 yrs I’ve never known, I started putting more oils in after watching your videos. Also when you do the braids for protective styles can you wash with the braids in ? I want to leave it in for over a month but my scalp start to get dirty
Hello! I also discovered my hair loves oils after 30 plus years so you are not alone 😂 you can absolutely wash your hair with protective styles in! Especially if you notice dirt/build up. Delaying washing only serves to keep the style intact longer. Using a bonnet at night, hair mousse to smooth and trimming fly always from the ends will also help to preserve the style. Definitely wash if you need too Thanks for watching ❤️
Hello. I usually wait about 2 weeks before installing a protective style after I relax. I don’t want to put too much tension on my scalp directly after chemically relaxing. Thanks for watching ❤️

Hello. Thank you for watching! As for your question, it really depends. If I am on a hair growth journey... I will usually put a protective style in 2 week - a month after removing one ( after assessing my hair, scalp and edges to make sure I didn’t suffer excessive thinning from tension). I believe all natural hair oils are better at promoting hair growth than grease. Anything with petroleum as it’s first ingredient is a sealant and protectant, helping to lock in moisture. A good growth stimulating oil ( such as Rosemary oil) is a better option if you are trying to grow out you hair . Thanks for watching ❤️
Here’s the thing, we as black people need grease and water in our hair, think about what your grandparents used on their hair, and our hair, before we started perming it. I agree they don't wash your hair correctly or comb it correctly!! 😣And the HEAT..OMG!! 😬😳
my hair has been in the best of shape since I started doing it myself, wash day is almost a full day plus to air dry

I'm learning a lot, I thought you needed grease to grow your hair. Thanks for this

I use it on my scalp because I am heavy handed with oils when protective styling.
Thank you for the advice! Your braids are beautiful considering how long you've had them. God bless you!
Thank you 😊 and thanks for watching!!
Natural oils as sealant don't work for me. So I have gone back to grease. I don't use it on my scalp but as a sealant after I moisturise my hair.
I use peppermint oil and apple cider vinegar once a month to clarify my scalp.

How long do you keep in knotless braids in your hair for growth?
