Information about free flight needs to be more available in the West. People should stop fearing flight.
I am getting an Indian ring neck bird and he is still being hand fed, after he is hand fed I get to take it home. I live in Florida and where I live I see a ton of Hawks ,Ospreys ,crows, vulchers . I live near a Bayou in my small town. I drive around the Bayou to get to my house and I always see a hawk clutching a fish flying above me. Sometimes I see Hawks carrying some kind of rodents . Even if I could teach my bird free flight I would have to be crazy to let him fly around here. My neighbor told me that he seen a Hawk living in one of my tree's ,but I have not seen it ,it could of left.
I have seen many telephone poles with hawks nest. There is a little bridge down around the street from me and there is a pole on the other side of the bridge with a huge nest with a family of hawks.
the West is greedy and money hungry -- so they monetize information that should be free. The "Flight Trainers" all charge for classes. They dont actually care about the physical mental health of the birds.

Your video is wonderful .I had a bird for a while and ended up selling him because I wanted a dog and was worried about dog getting bird. I made big mistake selling him I miss him(he was attached to me) . Its a long term duty taking care of animals when you get older you realize your limitations . These animals need love and deserve love and attention to there needs. Taking care of an animal is a life long commitment .The person I sold the bird to I hope they take care of him because I think of him all the time.
hi i have a question about my 2 month old budgie she is still living at the pet shop because she is still on 3 liquid meals a day and they need to get her to an all seed/millet diet before i can take her home. anyway i am visiting her everyday for about 30 min at a time, but when ever i take her out of the cage to have her practice jumping recall she flys away (she cant make it far so i wait for her to land to pick her back up). when she is in her cage i can put my finger in there and she will jump on it so i will give her a nice pet for positive renforcement, but again she will just fly a few feet away when i take her out of her cage. i dont know what i should do, should i begin taking some treats for a better and more tempting positive renforcement or should i be waiting before i take her home to begin the process of training

I trained a coturnix (Japanese) quail the same way. Hatched it in an incubator, handled it a lot as a chick, but I didn't want it to fly in the house, so I kept her wings trimmed like you would do with a chicken. So eventually she would come running (versus flying) when I'd call or tap on the ground. I'd reward her with a tiny piece of apple. Then, I could tap and call next to a spider or fly, and she'd come and eat it and get rid of it for me. : )
Does this have to be done from that young of an age? or can you train your bird after like 1-2 years to free fly? using Millet or smthn, and then follow the same steps like step up to recall to blind recall. can you then after take you bird outside to free fly train? or do they have to be hand fed at a VERY young age? is there ANY other option

How old your bird when you start handfeeding? Does it okay if i start hand feeding my bird in 2 week old? Can i still free flight my bird?

You should tame them at once, if you tame them at the same time one of the two birds will get confused.
