Hello! Sir, Hope you will be fine. While teaching Data Types in C. you are telling that modify data types. In size modifier, if we write short modifier with our data type, then its size does not change and if we write long modifier, then its size become double. i want to know that while using short modifier, its size should be shorter then the original but it don't change. please enplane.

Sir i have a doubt , Sir yu told that we can use signed modifiers with int and char. With int their usage is justified but how they are being used with char data type. Can yu plz explain it ?

+Nitin Kant, There's no dedicated "character type" in C language. char is an integer type. So, just like any other integer type, it can be signed or unsigned.

Sir why short modifier does not have any effect on integer?Its size remained same.
And you said that long modifier changes the size to double but the size of double became 10byte that should became 16byte.Also why it doesn't have any effect on float variable?
