- I installed this Vehicle Blackbox DVR full HD 1080p Dual Dash Cam Mirror with front and rear cameras over a year ago, here's a follow up video on that DashCam Mirror after 1 year of use.
Its cheap but does it still work? what problems have I had? What changes have I made? Would I still recommend it? Also answered a few of your questions in the video too.
I ended up splitting it in two as it turned out way longer than I intended, I put the Q&A in a separate video. The first video I go through what problems I may have had and what changes I've made or learnt. Then I go through the settings and the buttons. Then finish with the FAQ's in part 2 and conclusion.
Hopefully this will help some of you guys thinking of buying one of these dash cam mirrors or have questions on the unit.

This dual camera mirror I purchased was unbranded and was just called a Vehicle Blackbox DVR full HD 1080p rear view mirror dash cam but I've seen the same dual camera mirror branded as a Buyee Dash Cam Mirror, an IsYoung Dash Cam Mirror, Partim Dash Cam Mirror, a NexGadget Dash Cam Mirror an Oumax Dash Cam Mirror, TripCam PRO Dual Lens Dash Camera and CoPilot CPDVR3 RearView Mirror Dual Camera System, there maybe more brands too, I'll update the list if I see any or post others in the comments if you know of any.
Additions to the list: Furiauto Dash Cam Mirror, Sendow Dash Cam Mirror, Oxygentle Dash Cam Mirror, Syin Dash Cam Mirror, NextBase Dash Cam Mirror, QCY A70 Dash Cam Mirror, CD102, JVIN Dash Cam Mirror Car Video Recorder, PZ916, RH-A20.
So if its Buyee, IsYoung, Partim, NexGadget, Oumax, TripCam PRO or the Co-Pilot CPDVR3 as well as Furiauto, Sendow, Oxygentle or NextBase they all appear to be the same unit, tho the software seems to change slightly, intro screens etc and I've heard of people having a slightly different lists in the options and the rear camera varies, some are square (I don't know if they are different specs) I chose one with the round rear camera because I preferred how it looked. Also the video quality, I don't know if it changes between brands or not. But for example the TripCam PRO or the CoPilot CPDVR3 that I just discovered is twice the price I paid for this one so maybe the image quality is better too?

Hello Lee & thank you for the vids, they helped me a lot when using my mirror cam. One thing I did learn which I may have missed in your vids was to only use the motion sensor when the car is parked up, do not use it as a permanent setting. When activated during normal running, it confuses the camera & takes random footage when driving. As I say, you may have mentioned it & may have missed it but hope it is useful for anyone who uses one of these cams & notices the picture randomly coming on & off. Disable the motion sensor during driving, park up, then activate the motion sensor if desired.
Thanks mate, I'm glad the video was of use to you. Yeah I did mention the motion sensor briefly only to say mine doesn't appear do anything. I've had mine switched on for over two years and it's never done anything, either while driving or parked up. My car is stored in a garage at night, theoretically it should pick up the motion of me entering the garage every time I go to get the car out, but its never done it once.

Oh DEAR! I hope you realise the camera isn't recording a large part of the right hand side of your screen. This item is meant for left hand drive vehicles, not suitable for UK 😅

Guys you need to attach the red wire coming from the rear camera to the reversing light on your car to get the reversing lines to come up.

The reverse camera has an aux port on my mirror.Despite having plugged it in and connected the red wire to the reverse light, the image does not appear on the mirror. Only the front camera's image appears. The leds on the reverse camera comes on but the image does not show. Any advice for this maybe

Hello, thank you for the review, the quality of the back camera in the night, is not good, I would like to know if we can change the back camera with another with high resolution? Is there any camera compatible with the dash cam?

The dashcam is worth it if only for the rear view mirror itself. Much wider field of view, so my blind spots are covered out the back side windows, and the tint makes it much easier on the eye. Camera/DVR itself is a bit so-so, I might keep the mirror and buy a better dash camera. It's good, but there are better in the same price range.
Yeah its cheap as chips but does the job.
The motion detection feature makes a protected video if it detects movement. Could be a security feature when car parked at home or anywhere else. Could fill the disc if it sees lots of movement.

Just got this unit. Like it alot. Only down side is how poorly it fits over the rear view mirror. Otherwise it's a pretty solid unit.

the boot video automatically turns the video recording on it can also be set to off

boot video seems to be the .gif animation that appears when the device is turned on. I guess that format is inside the ROM of the device itself.

It's not the greatest at night to be honest, low quality cameras struggle in low light, but it's still better than having no camera.
I made a sample footage video with a little bit of night driving in it, you can see how dark it is but the road was actually well lit. The rear camera, which is even lower quality actually looks a bit lighter than the front at night. You'd be lucky to get a number plate, but would still show if the other person was driving dangerously, and give you evidence etc.

Hey buddy! Thanks for your review on the dash cam. I'm gonna but one from either Currys or Amazon (both £35) based on your experience. I'm now in the process of looking for one of those Haynes manuals for my car to find out how to wire it in for reversing.

On the reverse camera, you just need to connect the switch wire into the reverse light circuit, I made a video showing how I installed mine but I sorta wired mine a more long winded way via the light cluster itself as I didn't was to cut into the car's wires.

Thanks mate, I'm glad it was some use to you. Regarding playback, you need to stop it recording by pressing OK then press the flower/gear button (or whatever the symbol means) 2 times to get to the video recordings. Pressing it once shows the pictures, and twice for the videos. Then press the arrow buttons to go through the video clips and OK to play one. Go to 19:40 in the video where I show this with the pics and then video and play back a video, the only thing is, the video I play back I'm not moving as I realised I had deleted them when showing how to format the memory card, that's why I kinda pause as I'm realising lol, but you can still see it is playing back a video because of the play bar. Hope it helps.

I have this same set up. I thought it had a night feature but I can't figure it out.
Yeah mine doesn't have a night feature either.
I hope it had a setting to show just the rear camera on the full screen.

Motion detection is for when the car is parked it will start recording when motion is detected outside the car.

Hi ya me again. I’ve seen a video on TH-cam and it seems that the motion detector will pick up people who are passing near the vehicle but it may need a permanent power supply. All the best mate.
Thanks for the info mate, I will have to test it out. I can sort of understand that then with permanent power if that is true, it will be constantly recording anyway if powered but eventually would fill the card up and over write the files, so maybe makes a protected file every time someone walks past. Would need to remember to format the card frequently if so tho.
i was washing the car this evening and was experimenting with it the motion detection option, but whether the dash cam was on recording with the ignition on or turned off asleep it never did anything when I passed either the front or rear cam. Must do something but on mine.. doesnt seem to do anything.

Hi ya I’ve just found out my power cable is a bit iffy not working right. Changed it and now I’m set I think I may have to hard wire it my lighter socket is permanently live (fiesta). Great videos great help thanks mate.
Thanks mate! Yeah I hard wired mine in, I put a second socket under the dash so no wires are showing and can also then keep the existing socket free, mine is a lighter socket that doesn't stay live when the cars turned off.

I recently purchased one of these units and found that the rear view camera picture seems to be inversed. Left is Right. Is there a way to fix this.

Thanks mate, yeah I'm not sure exactly, mine starts up whether I have this function turned off or not. The options in the menu on mine are Off, 30 seconds, 1 minute or 2 minutes. Whichever I have mine set at it turns on and off the moment I turn my car on or off. Maybe on mine the function is inactive. Thanks for the info mate.

Did you ever find out how to get reverse parking Lines show on screen and also can you just have main screen on reverse camera only plus my reverse camera only came with only red wire no black wire should I attempt to Earth it myself
WDR = Wide Dynamic Range Gives you better Color more dynamic in picture so it looks good. sky and ground.

Boot video should mean the little boot-up animation when you boot it up.
Thanks mate, I've since found what it does, it actually means it starts recording automatically when it switches on. Like when you turn the car on the unit powers up and starts recording so u don't have to do anything. If you turn Boot Video off, it will still power on when you turn the cars ignition on but wont start recording, you'd have to manually press record.
How do I delete the protected files on the sd card. Tried formatting device and my Mac? they just won't delete?
LeesRandomVids does it have a button to press that records emergency video. Like you press it and it saves and locks the last 4 minutes in a file. Like if you see something stupid on tge road that you want to save can you press a special button to lock it instantly.
Yeah mate, press the button that looks like a flower and it protects the current file being recorded, it wont record over it and you cant delete it without formatting the card. Depending what you have your cyclic recording length set to will determine the amount saved. 1 minute files obv the file saved will be 1 minute long, 3 minute 3 and so on.

Hi, and thanks for this video you've shared on TH-cam. I bought mine around 3 years ago and gave up on it a few months later. The problem I was getting was that after so long, the dash cam would say memory full. I came to the conclusion it wouldn't over write my day to day non event recordings of daily driving on a loop basis.
From what I now understand from your video it will over write on a loop basis, and it's the fact it's locking footage from the guard mode I had set (ie records any vibration from a door shutting or going over rough ground)

Yeah, that's what happens with mine. It never overwrites protected footage so it can eventually fill the card with them. Shouldn't be filling the card with them quickly tho, unless you live on a very bumpy street, it takes months on mine. If it's filling it too fast try turning the sensitivity to the lowest, that's what I did. Speed bumps and pot holes tend to make mine detect a bump and lock the file.
@@LeesRandomVids Thanks for the reply. Today (just gone) I had another look at it, and coincidently did what you've just suggested and turned the sensitivity setting to low. I also didn't realise that I only had a 8gb memory cards
in mine to, so that's been swapped over to a 32gb.
Hopefully this will sort out the niggles.
One other question for you that may have an answer to, is how does the parking movement detection work. I set mine to on, and the symbol of the man shows up, only to disable when I turn the ignition on. This feature can only be switched back on again once I've cut the power supply via turning off the cars ignition. Is this how it's supposed to be.

The symbol of the man walking, that's called 'motion detection' on mine.. and I still to this day don't know what it does. lol. On/off, walk in front of the camera, doesn't seem to do anything. Must do something tho. Really wish they included a manual. lol

Here (in Colombia) the installers insist on breaking the car body to "install" the rear camera and I am against it !!! You have it in the car on the rear windshield, is that right?

The camera tho, it says, is designed for either inside or outside of the car. Many mount them next to the licence plate.
Gidday mate I have just installed one if these in my ford escape my friend bought it in Thailand problem I have found is the camera set up is for a left hand drive car and the blue tint makes it hard to view the camera during a sunny day its okay at night but not during the day
I think it's made for both, but perhaps left hand drive cars primarily that can also be adjusted to fit right hand drive cars too. Make sure to angle the camera as far right as it will go on the back of the mirror, I did this and it just about points forwards on mine, maybe very slightly to the left but records the whole road. The blue was very strange for me at first too, infact I didn't like it, but I have gotten use to it now and it's fine. I've not had a problem with viewing the screen on sunny days... tho I am in England haha. Cheers mate.
Motion detection is if someone goes to close to your car, cam will start to record,while is parked.

Some sensor on cheap dashcam are not very good.
If you wanna film all night, use a big powerbank and conect it to your dashcam, if you live in a bad naborhood.

Hi, and thank you. It depends when you mean mate, if you mean a live split screen on the mirrors display then you press the left arrow button to choose which camera(s) you want displayed, see 20:48
But if you mean split screen when playing back recordings (which I'm assuming you do) like in my sample footage video or the end of the Q&A video then you cant, well you can but it was done with editing when I made the video. The front and rear cameras are recorded as separate files. The mirror puts all the front camera files in one folder on the memory card and all the rear camera files in another folder. In my videos with split screen I matched and added the two videos together when I made the videos, it wont playback as split screen by itself. In the sample footage video I mentioned the picture in picture playback was done with editing.

Hi, great video, thanks. Do you run off direct power? I ask because my clock resets to zero if I do not drive for more than a day or so. I presume this is because I run the dash from the cigar lighter.
Thank you. No mate, mine is plugged into the cigarette lighter socket too (I installed a second one under the dash wired from the original one) which also disconnects power when the car is turned off. Mine keeps the time (gains a few minutes over the months). Maybe it's the internal battery that keeps the time and is just about dead, (just a guess).

Thanks for sharing. I learnt a lot and could make changes that made the camera work better. However, I don't know if you had these issues. My car is a right hand drive and the camera is on the left, I don't know if there are any with the camera on the right but I am having a difficulty capturing both sides of the roadway. Also, the camera seems to be too heavy for my rear view mirror and causes it to shift downwards making it difficult for me to see . I constantly have to be fixing it! Any suggestions for these issues?
Hi, I'm glad you found it useful. On the camera on the left issue, yeah my car is right hand drive too, did you angle the camera on the back of the mirror as far right as it can go? I assume you know it moves. I had to angle mine as far right as it would go, it still points very slightly left when the mirror is set correctly but it covers just about all of the road ahead. On the issue of your mirror dropping, I personally havnt had that issue but every car is different. I don't know what to suggest, hmm, maybe push some blue tack or something into the joint where the stalk enters the mirror at the back to try and stiffen it up a little? not sure, but stiffening the joint may help, but don't use glue or anything like that or your mirror will be stuck. I think id try that first, blue tack, at least you wont ruin your mirror by giving that a try. hope it helps anyway.
Hi great video tutorial, One question my rear sq camera has only one red wire dose not have a black one, (apart from the main one to go back to the mirror). Dose the red wire link into the live reverse wire on the reverse light.

Hi Lee, thanks for a great video. I bought my device about 3 years ago. I had 2 issues with my device so far.
1. The adapter started to stop working and had to buy a new one.
2. The other big issue I have is a rattling sound on all footage recorded. This only happens when I go over uneven roads. It's very annoying when playing back video files. I'm not sure if it's something on my car's actual mirror. I recently bought the same system for my girlfriend with the same issue on hers as well, a rattling noise. Any suggestions on how to fix this?
Another issue on her device. Her small screen is not bright enough. She can hardly see what's on the mirror. The actual recorded material is fine. Just the onscreen that's not clear enough.

I've no idea what the rattling is. If you say it's the same on both yours and your girlfriends units then it must be the unit itself, or really bad luck to get the same rattle in both cars lol. Only thing I can think of is to check that the cables that plug into the recorder are not rattling against the unit.
Mine doesn't have any options to alter the screen's brightness so I don't know, the option in the settings called 'LCD brightness' on mine is actually the auto screen of timer.
sorry, maybe you have already answered this, the thing is I did a fast forward on your video, so I might have missed it... my question is about the mirror function itself - can you really see through the dark screen as good as if you're looking through the usual mirror? what about the day/night feature the usual rearview mirrors have, does this camera have that as well?

Not sure what day/night function you mean, my normal mirror doesn't change. The dash cam mirror is a little darker, especially at night, but I barely notice it anymore.

Ahh, yeah thats why its darker. If you angled it up like that with the camera your camera would be filming the sky. Seems I answered the exact thing u was wanting to know in the video then haha. Well, hope it helped! :D

Motion detection should be when parked and someone crossed the path it may be turned on. Like if you are parked in your driveway and nobody should be on your property, you would set it it and catch people walking around your car?..
Yeah that's what I think it should do too, mine has been switched on for over a year and it's never done anything lol.

Yeah it makes it switch on and start recording when it receives power, like when turning the car on. Turn boot video off and it doesn't auto start recording, you'd have to manually press record.

A question - I tested out the rear camera and found that it was a (no pun intended) mirror image compared to the view you see in the mirror itself. Left and right are switched Do you have that same issue? It wasn't obvious from the rural road on which you parked. I want to use the rear camera as a backup camera but if it's reversed, that will render it useless. I have one of the small square rear cameras. Thanks ahead of time.

Anyway, Yes mine is flipped mate, but that makes it look correct in the mirror. What I mean is, if I play it back on the computer it is flipped, words, licence plates etc will read from right to left. but that's how it needs to be. If you look out of your rear view mirror words, licence plates will also appear flipped, thats like why they write ambulance backwards on the front of ambulances, well they do here. Maybe yours looks flipped because its not actually flipped? Which it needs to be.
Test it out, go park infront of another car and look out of the rear view mirror and read the licence plate, the other cars plate should read from the right to left, then turn the rear camera screen on it should also read right to left, if it reads left to right.. its not flipped but it needs to be flipped in order to appear like a view from the rear view mirror, not a view as tho you've turned your head to look behind you.
Not sure if its clear how I've explained that, but if its flipped (so licence plates read right to left) it will appear natural when you use it in the mirror, as what is on the right when u look forwards is also on the right in the rear camera mirror image, so when you turn right, that view also turns right. If it wasn't flipped it would be really disorientating as when you turned right the rear cam would look like you turned left if it wasnt flipped, like if u was looking behind you.
So if yours looks flipped because it looks flipped compared to the view in the rest of the mirror maybe the problem is that its not flipping the image, which it should be. It needs to flip the image so words read right to left, if yours doesn't I'm not aware of any settings that can flip it, but yours maybe different to mine so check all the settings. BTW my rear camera is a round one, not one of those square ones, but Ive seen those too.
Anyway maybe my sample footage video that I made just after I installed it maybe of more use to you, where I mentioned and showed the rear cam looking flipped on it in that.

Unfortunately, my problem is that the rear camera does not show a mirror image as you described, it appears as if you were looking straight on through the rear window. So the image as displayed from the rear camera is unfortunately the opposite as what I see looking in the mirror itself. I bought the whole setup for very cheap on Wish.com and already requested they refund my purchase, since I wanted the backup camera function as my car lacks that feature. I may seek to buy just a backup camera that does "mirror" the image. Thanks so much for all your help and excellent video.

Its a shame there's no setting to flip it as its probably only a software thing but as you say, if its not flipped its purely just a rear view dash cam recorder and totally useless as a reversing camera.. unless you always reverse in a totally straight line and never turned an inch lol.
Obviously I don't make or sell these so I cant tell you if all the square ones are like that or not, I suspect not, I've had many other people post who had the square ones and not mentioned it not being flipped. I can only tell you mine is flipped and mine is one of those round ones, id guess its the software tho regardless of the camera design and id guess there's several makers of these all with slightly different versions of their own software.
Anyway least you can get a refund, good luck whichever way you decide to go, either another one or something similar to this or just a pure backup camera only.

After doing research, it appears there are two types of cameras, mirror image and non-mirror image. I found an Amazon review where someone else made a similar complaint about the rear camera. I also found a rear camera where there's a wire you can cut to switch from one setup to the opposite. I suppose in the Chinese factories they might accidentally provide the wrong one...
Ahh I see, thanks for the info. I guess some maybe sold as only having rear camera recorders while the other as reverse cameras too. But if it says reverse camera on the box id expect it to be flipped, otherwise its not usable. As you say, probably get mixed up in the factories. Trouble with risking cutting any wires is, if it doesnt work u cant return it.
Mine lasted a year before it kept showing square saying "low battery" , I took it to pieces to find the battery , which was blown , I took the red and black out through the back , chopped the battery out and used an old 3.7 volt phone battery glued to the back , fixed the problem .Another thing , make sure the rear view camera plug and socket are in a waterproof place , bind the connectors with self amalgamating tape ..I didnt and ruined a back camera !
Yeah I might end up doing that one day, my battery is very weak, it's been weak for ages. I've had mine in the car for over 2 years but it's still working, just the battery is weak. How did you open the mirror? Is it clipped together or glued?
@@LeesRandomVids there are two micro size crosspoint screws , you undo those , and then carefully run round the edge of the mirror with a tool like they use for opening mobile phones , or I used the back of a scalpel blade , they are little clips holding the two halves together, you tease them apart. The battery on mine was to the left of the screen inside , it had a alum foil jacket , which was gassed up and swollen , so I just clipped ot out and drilled a hole in the case , and used an old 3.7V phone battery twinstuck to the back of the unit .
Ah cheers mate, I hadn't looked to see if there were screws or not, I just assumed it would be clips or glued with it being cheap. Screws makes it easier.

@@LeesRandomVids the battery is like a postage stamp made of ally foil , I used a large flat battery out of an old sagem phone , I got that idea because I bought another camera , the one that they show on FB , but its definition is way low , but its accessable battery is a phone battery . The case is not glued , it has little clips all round and this battery lies at the left of the screen inside . I even made a rigid stalk to mount the whole thing in place of my jeep mirror, cos there was a lot of vibration with those rubber bands ...

Hi , I just need some help I have the exact model of reverse cam and Im having difficulty on the back camera …… when its facing on opposite direction for example the pole at my back is on the right and its showing on the video its on the left ……is there any buttons to invert the view of or change the positioning ……i cannot put the camera upside down becasuae the video will be upside down as well ….. hope some could help
Yeah I know what you mean, it's the same with mine, think its suppose to make it appear like you're looking through the mirror or something, I cant remember now. Anyway, there is no option to flip it unfortunately, not on my model anyway.

I was having issues with the backup cam and you helped me out greatly 👍🏻 but it seems my files are not saving. Once turned on it’s recording so once I press “OK” does it automatically save because that doesn’t seem to be the case when I put the SD card in my computer.

Hmm that's strange, but are your files on the memory card? Can you play them back on the mirror? You don't need to press OK to save them, it should just save them as it's recording. Pressing OK stops or starts it from recording. If it starts recording automatically when you turn it on (which is what u want) then pressing OK will stop it from recording. (the boot video option it was makes it auto start recording when its turned on).

Check there is power going to it. Try a second power source like plugging it into your computer via usb or other usb charger. If it turns on then you know it's not getting power in the car, if it doesn't turn on from any power source, or u know 100% it has power in the car then I don't know why it wont turn on, I'd suspect it could be faulty if so.

No, it just records video files to an sd card.
I think motion detection will only record when the cam detects movement. On mine with motion detection turned on, a red time stamp appears in top left and sitting parked with engine on, after 10 seconds of no motion the time stamp stops counting.

Is there anyway to edit the night vision? We just got ours today and the night vision is terrible. You cant even read the license plate from the car in front and theres so much glaring from all the street/car lights

You can either mount it with screws or double sided sticky foam pad it came with.. it up to you where you place it, and every car is different. If the back or the seat is solid u might be able to stick it to them. If its not solid it might wobble a lot.
Hi there, My Blackbox DVR mirror dash cam does not retain the date and time settings. It keeps on defaulting to the 2018 date.
That's annoying, maybe turn the option off so it doesn't record the date and time on the video then if it's wrong, maybe better to have no date showing rather than the wrong one.

Excellent video! Helped me a lot. Two questions, though. 1. Is the forward camera pic supposed to be blurry for distance and crystal clear for real close objects? 2. An hour after installation, it stopped working and shuts off saying, "not enough power" even while the engine is running. I suspect the internal battery is toasted and not holding a charge. Does anyone else have this issue? On a side note - they accidentally sent me two cameras, but one won't even turn on. the boxes are faded, so I think these have been sitting for several years and the batteries are not good anymore. I may dissect the extra one and take a look inside!
1 - No that doesn't sound right, should be focused for far away objects to record traffic.
2 - Strange, should be running on the car's power while the car is running, only uses the battery when the car's power feed is off from it.
Yeah would be interested to know how easy it is to change the battery, the one in mine now is 99.9% dead, last a few seconds, that's it. I believe they're some strange cheap obscure battery that are soldered in tho.
@@LeesRandomVids There are a couple of videos here on youtube that show you how to open the unit and replace the battery. I already cracked mine open and ordered the battery online. Hopefully, it works!

Nice one mate, do u remember the type or name of battery to order? I may replace the one in mine one day.. it's 99% dead, has been for ages, lasts about 5 seconds now.
Yeah when I put mt SD card in my laptop i think the protected files' names began with SOS then the file number, i think, and the none protected ones started with REC and the the file number. You can delete any you want when the SD card in in the laptop, just click on the end press delete, it's just the dash cam that wont overwrite or delete the protected ones.

The left arrow key selects which camera(s) to view on the screen, shown at 20:40
If no rear camera is displayed, check to see if it is recording the rear camera to the sd card in order to check if the rear camera is working or not.
If it's recording the rear camera then at least it's recording it, but the left arrow should allow you to display it, if its not recording the rear camera either then maybe the rear camera is faulty?
I purchased this Vehicle Blackbox DVR about a month maybe month and a half ago, box was in really bad shape when I received it, and only got the cigarette lighter charger, but no rear camera. My picture has lines running through the picture and my picture is not on the right side, but to the left, instructions are crap, menu sucks, hard to understand and maneuver the setting buttons, , and if I can’t get a refund, then I want a new one sent to me.I am very unhappy with product and would not recommend to anyone. . I was really excited about reciving mine, and couldn’t wait to put it in, only to find out how disappointed I was. Menu doesn’t look anything like the ones on you tube. Seems like a defected item, one that was returned, and sent to me by accident. Please help!
If your screen is on the left then it's not the same one as this one. And if it's faulty, send it back, u are entitled to a refund if its faulty.

Yeah mine is still working, tho the internal battery is basically dead. I can't use the mirror with the screen on, I set it to automatically turn the screen off after 20 seconds in the settings.

A) I don't know, the max card size is 32gb, you could format the card on your computer to NTFS to try it and if it doesn't then change it back? But I haven't tried, I just formatted my card in the dash cam itself.
B), Again I don't know. The max setting on mine is 3 minutes, I don't have 5 minutes as an option. Maybe the programming is 3 minutes max like mine but they have put the option in the menu for 5 minutes? Just a thought.
C) Err I think mine uses about 100MB per minute for the front camera and about 60MB for the rear, which is extremely high for the low quality but it's the way it is. So that's about 9.6GB per hour, call it 10GB. So in theory a 32GB card will be full after just over 3 hours and start recording over the oldest file first.

Yep, it says it's waterproof and able to be fitted on the exterior. I've seen ones which look like these fitted to cars I've been following that have them fitted just above the number plates. I've not fitted mine outside tho so I can't tell you how durable they are.
