I appreciate your kind remarks. I can certainly understand why you would think that I had gone dormant...I've been on hiatus from Cass videos for four years for a few reasons! :) One reason, of course, was because there were some lean years in there where the events were ran by a guy who didn't care enough about his job to make the events something special, and it showed. I didn't see a point in buying a ticket for a substandard show, so haven't attended an event since 2016. Thankfully, this problem seems to be fixed thanks to the employment of one Mr. Scriptunas. Money is another issue--its now virtually an "investment" to attend a Cass event...ticket costs have doubled from what they were five years ago. Another reason is I have sort of taken a "why bother?" approach to video production...back when the channel was more active, there were many times when my video was the only one--or one of the only ones--posted because the majority of guests to the special events were focused on still photography, and almost no one made videos--or at least--"free" videos for TH-cam. Nowadays, there are usually quite a few versions of the same exact product, and it gets to the point where you can watch pretty much any video from the event and they are pretty much the same quality as mine. And, really, that's a compliment to the "competition" for increasing their quality, but given the time and effort it takes to edit, it almost doesn't seem worth it when someone else is going to do pretty much the same thing. But, alas, here we are. I decided to give it another go, and who knows? Maybe there will be more later. I do have a few "unproduced" video projects from the intervening years, but mostly non-Cass stuff. I also would like to bring back a version of "The Cass Scenic Railroad Play Down Theater" in the future, updating some of the old videos with better transfers/editing, and maybe making some new ones with unused footage. Maybe I'll get back to it one of these days! Be sure to check out Casshews on Facebook to see the "still photo" version of this channel if you haven't already! :)
@@thewvnetwork ah that makes sense but I'm happy to hear that you might be uploading again! I've been watching your videos ever since I was a little kid!
Hi Jacob! Interestingly enough, the freight cars are the exact same ones that have been sitting around rusting on the deadline for 40 years...they've just been nicely repainted in a variety of liveries. There are more cars being planned as well!
Yes--They are one trestle away from making the connection. They are currently working on said trestle--it should be available beginning next year (for real, this time, barring another 1985 flood!)!!!
@@thewvnetwork That’s good I look forward to Riding the line from cass to Durbin When it opens maybe a little while after it opens though so there’s not as much crowd I’m not good with lots of people I have autism
I did not think this channel would be active any more but look at this!! Thanks for making it i look forward to watching it!
