My daughter won a gen7 at USTE 2018 in Florida and it's a great truck, it needs some mods but it's nice to know that you can do a lot of them for free, great video.
My Gen 7 will be at my house tomorrow. It'll be my first introduction to the crawling scene. Love the video and can't wait to see more upgrades for this thing. Extremely excited to get into this awesome hobby.
When you talk about the bent i think the Gen 7 Pro comes with a bend since when i got mine the other day it came with a bend in it. But I also think that over the years they might've changed some stuff
You do not have to take the wheels or the steering link apart to do this you can find a good exacto knife . I did this to my gen 7 Pro and noticed a great deal of steering Improvement
a good video and help. After I did all that I took the two screws in the front out will replace them with set screws so they are flush with the plastic and got a longer servo horn (25 T) to improve the steering throw. 👍 now I’m almost hitting the shocks.
Question at 3:39 you say since there is a bend in there it will essentially “lengthen it” didn’t you mean “shorten it” which gives the arm more progressive leverage and let’s you move the spindles further with the same amount of travel? Or Please explain more so I can be thinking correctly? Thanks nice video a lot of very useful confidence building content, I really like that for sure!
Where can I find scale bodies for gen7? 317-325. Having trouble finding any I like. Would like to have a hardbody. Any pointers in the right direction are appreciated.
we have a gen 7 pro, got it about a month ago. we have the same issue. wheel hits shock and bounces. its annoying, crawlers are supposed to have wheel travel.
adjust the bumper out one hole and up one hole and it will help a load on it hittin the tires....... As for iit hittin the shocks, buy some 10mm extension hex hubs for each wheel and it will clear easily and nothing touches at all
mounted the servo to the chassis, have a little bind up after installing the high steer kit, wheels dont turn all the way, going to find a nice long servo arm to see if that helps(yea, tried stock, and longer upgraded link).... instead of bending, i just put some 3mm off set rod ends on mine, till the kit arrived. i like the tire idea, gonna do it, next time tires are off, or is too cold to go out and play.... Window cut outs, and scale insides are next. i moved the receiver to a waterproof box from Armma that i had laying around, off the typhon, added a spek receiver too, so i could use my radio. looking at a metal bumper soon, for a winch, LED lights, more hop ups...... soooo much to do, so little funds... CRAP, so thats where my 3D printer funds have been going!!!!!!
Thats a really good idea with the rod ends. Dinky Rc makes some good interiors but if you are going with the stock body might cheat and get a proline one as they have two that are full interiors. I feel the to many projects not enogh funds and time.

You are correct it would make shorter so thats why you need the spacers. I didnt think about it to way after the video was posted.
Wow u really have the gear for the upgrade
Not sure what you are talking about
Sweet bend. Alotof people shave the pumpkin
I have seen that my thought was I feel your making a weak spot but to each there own.

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Hit me up at facebook and I can help a little more Sid thercgug Vega or RC Basement.
Also wondering
I would like to have one of them truck bodies like what's on the one to the right of you in this
What body is the jeep body
The servo continued to hyperextend what caused that and what did you do to fix it? Less bend?
Extremely helpful.
can you send me a link to the .5mm shims thanks
It already has enough steering stock, there needs to be a solution for it hitting the bumper and/or shocks at full steer...

Nice video, some good info. What body is that on your sons rig???
Thank you much, Proline 3336-00
Nice vid !
Thank you
Nice video👍
So, found the body. the body has a wheelbase of 300mm what if anything did you do to make the body fit correctly on the gen7??
I did nothing it fit like a glove.
I have a gen 7 and I bent the links to shorten the wheelbase a little
what body are you running on your gen7 is that the proline c10 cab&bed or just the cab
Yes its the 66c10 body. Just the cab.
My gen 7 came with a bent ti rod and my bead locks have never came off the rim ever also that lip is supposed to be on the wheels
Is this a pro or a sport model ?
sport but will work with both
