When he got out the car I seriously thought Simon Cowell turned up! Haffey is taller and has slightly longer legs so he can't make it look quite as neat as Brian, but still great.

A lot of people get stuck on the idea that if I do one trick with my right foot as the soul foot and then do a different trick with my left foot as soul, then one of the two tricks must be switch, but that's not the case. It has to do with what is easier for you and switch is the harder way. For example I might do a mizou with my right foot as soul and then do a porn with my left foot as soul. Switching soul feet doesn't necessarily make either trick switch. I could have a hard time getting my left foot torqued behind me for the porn because of flexibility or whatever. But find it much easier to do this with my right foot. So despite changing the soul foot, the porn is still normal because it's easier for me. That's another thing "switch" is all about personal preference and there's no hard and fast formula for it. This idea becomes really apparent when you start doing tricks like mistrials and torque souls. Take the mistrial (lead foot is soul, trail foot is BS backslide). I like to soul on my right foot and I like to backslide on my right foot, but I can't do both at the same time. So in order to do a mistrial one of my feet is going to have to do the unnatural thing. I can't backslide on my left foot so I use my left as the soul and backslide with my right. Even though I prefer souling on my right, this isn't a switch mistrial, it's normal, because it's the easier way for me. I've noticed a lot of pro skaters do their normal topsides on the opposite foot from normal soul tricks. Like if you do a mizou with a right soul foot, you might do a sweatstance with a left top-soul foot. Why? I really can't say. Personally, I top-soul with my natural soul foot, my right foot. But your first comparison is actually quite normal for a lot of pros. Also in this case it could have something to do with the fact that they are tricks that arr spun into. For example I might do a regular mizou with right foot soul, this would be on the right rail. In order to do a alley-oop or true mizou, first I would need to change sides and do it on the left rail to keep the same soul foot. However in the case of say a true mizou, I would spin to the right (again, left-hand rail), but maybe I don't like spinning to the right. So there could be a case of where I find the true mizou easier with a left soul foot and doing it on the right-hand rail so I can spin left into the trick. It all comes down to all the different components of the trick and what you find more natural for your body. When it comes to playing BLADE you just have to trust that when your opponent says it's switch, they're being truthful. In competitions, it's the honor system for the most part. Skaters will give a hand signal or nod their head to the judges to say the trick was switch. Again, there's just not a strict rule of feet placement to determine if it's switch, it's the person. From the other 3 tricks you pointed out it can be seen that Aragon is definitely a unique skater, but it's just about the way he's more comfortable doing a specific trick. Hope that helps.
