One of those old school simple flies what is still works well. Bigger version with the bulky head is very good for pike too. ;)

I tied a couple of these up following Charlie's instructions, but substituting wire for mono on the connection. Although I didn't get any foul hooking (he says tighten up the connection to avoid fouls), the fly also looked a little stiff in the water. After watching your video and seeing you use a wire connection the same way I traditionally do, I think I am going to take this pattern back to the vise and put some life back into it. As always, thanks for the videos and inspiration on the tying bench!

I’ve been tying and fly fishing for close to 60 years now and I don’t mind admitting that I’ve learned quite a few great tricks and innovative tying methods from your and your compadres!!
    Yuze Gize Freaking ROCK!!!!
I love seeing where fly fishing is going with Dudes like you and your other Streamer maniacs leading the way!!!
Being the Geezer that I amz, I live in Florida on the Nature Coast (Snukez, Poonz, Redz, Troutziz (speculated type) and lots of other mean-ass fighting feeshez!!! I live less than a mile from Lk. Rousseau, a stump filled swamps surrounded lake that produces many 12+ overs every year!! The spillway that forms the lake is a 1/2 mile from my house where saltwater fish like snook, baby Poonz (up to like 20lbs) jacks along with some bog old Bighaid bassez wait for stuns panfish and shadz to come through the spillway!! I love to streamer fish the fast water ( almost rapidlinke) running down to the main river!! It reminds me of fishing the big rivers up north and nothing like you would ever expect around here! Then head down the beautiful Withlacoochee River 5 miles to the uncrowded Gulf full of rocky islands, oyster and sand bars and bunches of wild creeks coming in from the back country!!! It’s a great place for an old fly fisher to go out to pasture!!!
I’ll be surprised if you read this far on a bunch of BS from some old dude from Fla!
I love everything you put online and always look forward to your new posts!! Please keep up the great work Brian!!!

Please excuse my writing Brian, getting over a really bad case of covid which killed me but I came back!! Too mean and stinky to die yet!!! But like many others, it kinda affected my brains some. So if you can’t make sense of what I wrote. Sorry!!
PS>>>> I don’t need your fly cause if you sent it to me, I wouldn’t fish it, I’d frame it of course!!! I know you said you have some kind of random snot picker machine but maybe you should just find some kid to send it to?? By the way, how are your Sonz?? Don’t see much of them anymore? I guess they must have found some galz??
I loved watching them growing up and catching trouts, I’d die to catch!! It always reminded me of taking my two Sons fishing way back when!!!
Take care, be careful and stay COOL!!!

Cool fly. This has a couple of my favorite materials. Love marabou. And I'm also not confident when tying multiple hooks. Sticking with single hooked flies for now. :P Also, there's gotta be a mullet joke in there somewhere....wooly bugger in the back and clouser/bugger in the front....

Nice fly Brian. I've noticed that Kelly Galloup now has a line of vertical eye hooks for stingers so they can stay inline with the front hook. Do you think that makes a difference in the performance of the fly? Keep the good stuff coming, and one of these days you need to get up here to Michigan to fish the salmon run, big fun!!
