I'm so glad that MatPat didn't just close his channels when he retired. Now, we have four great hosts to follow. Any, you may be my favorite of the new hosts.
Style theory idea: does aloe actually heal everything faster? In my household it can moisturize your skin, remove pimples and scars as well as relieve burns. I’m really intrigued about it healing scars, but that may be hard to do. Vaseline is also a similar product. Maybe Vaseline is an easier experiment product?

Well she was more prominent in the videos than the other 3. And if we’re being honest, this channel is still new and not as popular as the others, so its audience would probably have been aware of the host change from the beginning.

I love Mat Pat's angelic voice so much that I was worried it would be weird hearing someone else. But these past theories have been great and I'm exited for the future of the channels
Amy, notice that the "Team oil" and "Team cream" have a very clear distinction, Team Oil have darker skin tones and Team Cream have clear skin tones. Perhaps the better "after shave feeling" with Oil and Cream has to do with Skin type too, you could dig into that in the future...
This is actually more to do with hair rather than skin! Darker complexions usually come with thicker and more coarse hair, which heavily affects shaving. ^^
It helps that Amy was on camera from the very start of Style Theory bashing skulls with shoes. The other three hosts weren't so common. Plus, I think Style Theory has had backstage members on camera more often than the other three channels with Amy almost always showing up, even if just for a quick chat midway through the video.
@generalcodsworth4417 Yeah, Style theory is the one with the most On Screen performances since Game and Film Thoery rely more on graphics and scenes from the medium, and even Food theory relied heavily on graphics... at first.
To be fair, Amy was on camera with Style theory from the very beginning. Lee and Tom have very rarely showed up on their respective channels if ever, and Santi has only somewhat recently shown up more often on Food theory.
I am a person who is scared/hate change and i was worried I wouldn't like these channels but I guess I was wrong, because Amy is so ICONIC that she is (dare I say) better than MatPat! but his voice will always have that place in my heart.

Everything about his narration was honed to near perfection, even if the pitch and timbre were... Less than desirable. And that's something the new hosts still have to hone for possibly years to come
This 100%!!! I can't say for all theorist channels but Amy knocked it out of the park with her first video (and heck, got me hooked all the way back when she appeared in the killer heel video)
I really hope they'll do another video comparing all the different hair removal techniques, waxing, shaving, cream, sugaring. It would be really cool to know the ultimate way to remove hair. Edit: I love how everyone is pointing out the ones I missed out 😂 if anyone can think of something not in the comments already please add it in! We need to make sure all options are covered! Also please like the comment so we can boost the post so team theorist see it!
I can totally relate to having post-shave "dots" on your legs from having dark hair and light skin. I was self-conscious about those too before my transition. I really appreciate you being vulnerable and talking about your insecurities!
I love it when Head Editor Dan shows up. 1. I love that he straight up has a title and isn't just Dan, no no no, he is Head Editor Dan. 2. He's just always adorable in this counterintuitive big grizzly bear but actually a teddy bear way and I'm just very entertained by it and I don't know how else to explain it besides that.
So of the 4 new hosts, Amy was the best transition. 1. She didnt need to announce it. 2. Because she was already semi hosting before in the shorts. She felr more natural since ive had 'episodes" of her. Whixh is something i wish they did with all channles. Eithwr put them into the shorts to introduce, or have had there first few episode mixed in with Matts final episodes. A gradual change instead of a sudden one

Amys story hit hard. The very same happened to me. I have a lot of male hormones and grow a lot of dark hair basically everywhere and very quickly. Worst thing was that I actually grew (and still do, nowadays I just shave them every shower, it just a normal habit now) side burns, which as a 15 year old girl just sucks... At some point I stopped wearing short stuff or was scared of going swimming. My hair always hid my face. Girls in my class thought of it as "unclean" and so I excessively washed and cleaned myself. Now? I don't care anymore and it makes me feel so much better. I can just agree with all of it. Having body hair, no matter how much or even how little, is completely natural. YOU decide how you want to "wear" it and not others and either way it's perfect the way you like it.
We’ve all encountered the mean girls. I had cystic acne and was hairy, because of pcos, so naturally I was bullied. A,y is right. It’s the mean girls who have a problem!
I’m a big fan of using Conditioner as shave lubricant! I feel like it gives the best of both worlds (plus my skin is so sensitive that shave cream would give me irritation)

I went through a laser treatment to prevent my hair from growing in my legs and armpits because my hair tended to grow under my skin (and also because I was really hairy and felt so ashamed of my body hair) and honestly my skin feels better than ever, not only takes so long for my hair to grow back, now is thinner and doesn’t requiere to shave that often. When I started the laser process I got used to exfoliate my legs and now I do it at least once a week.

I was going to say the same, after trying a brand with a not so family friendly name, I tried other conditioners and they all work better than other shaving lubricants by far

Amy, congrats on your first episode! A question for a possoble episode: what hair removal procedure is best? Regular shaving, waxing (regular wax or sugar wax), hair removal creams, or those special sponges or "crystals" you rub in circles that's supposed to be a gentle way to remove hair?
Great vid Amy! I was wondering if you could do an experiment about the best direction to shave. I’ve been told that if you shave in the direction your hair grows it prevents ingrown hairs. I’m curious to know if it’s true.
Amab who shaves here, and have been for 8-9 years here! I currently use the the leaf safty razor 3 blades. It has a higher up front cost, but cheap blades helped make it work it for me, and its safer then than 1 blade safety razors for me, but its a bitt less close than a standard safety razor I've found. Just dont press down like a normal razor!!! Have a bad scar from that. Do use a harry's or flamingo still with my pits though, and love those. Also rather than shaving cream, I tend to use bar soaps that froth and are make for shaving, or hair conditioner. Loved the episode though, def gonna ad exfoliant back into my routite.
Imagine you haven't been in the loop with these theory channels for a while and Amy talks about using an electric razor “in Matpat’s memory” like would that person think Matt was actually dead for a second until they checked the comments? Yes, yes I did.
I personally dry shave with an electric razor but it looks more like the one left and right ones at 24:16. I think the problem with the electric razor you used it's that the head you used is meant to be for smaller more delicate areas. I've only ever seen heads like that circular one being used for stuff like upper lip, hands/fingers and feet/toes. Also you dismiss the soap but you never actually talked about how the experience of using the soap was so we're left wondering what the differences actually were. it would've been nice to hear about the experience and all the stuff it did wrong. Other than that great episode!
I love the dedication of the new hosts. Keeping some of the stuff that works, and adding their own flare. If you revisit shaving, maybe look at items to substitute when you’re out of shaving cream. I know a common practice of my partner is to use conditioner, what else can be used?
I have sensitive legs and tried all the different combos of razors and lubricants. So many caused horrific razor burn, even when I followed up the shave with slathering my legs with lotion and aquaphor after shaving. Then I tried baby oil and boom no more ridiculous razor burn. I've used a number of razors and the baby oil is still the shaving hero. Now I have to try exfoliating before shaving.

Try using soup with cream. Like dove or nivea. It's the best of the two worlds. Smooth, does not wash off too easilly, moisturises, doesn't build up in the blade too much. I never bought anything else after trying it once.

I love the dedication of the new hosts. Keeping some of the stuff that works, and adding their own flare. If you revisit shaving, maybe look at items to substitute when you’re out of shaving cream. I know a common practice of my partner is to use conditioner, what else can be used?

I have sensitive legs and tried all the different combos of razors and lubricants. So many caused horrific razor burn, even when I followed up the shave with slathering my legs with lotion and aquaphor after shaving.
Then I tried baby oil and boom no more ridiculous razor burn. I've used a number of razors and the baby oil is still the shaving hero.
Now I have to try exfoliating before shaving.
So happy for Amy to be host now!

Try using soup with cream. Like dove or nivea. It's the best of the two worlds. Smooth, does not wash off too easilly, moisturises, doesn't build up in the blade too much. I never bought anything else after trying it once.
