Yeah, apparently the original movie without the shoots didn’t have enough action scenes and did not test well with audience members. I will say, knowing that, and the fact that they did the re-shoots to kind of rework it into a better movie makes me feel a little more at peace with it being delayed over a year from its original release date. I’d rather them take the time to make a quality spinoff movie, then come out with something that doesn’t feel quite up to par with the others. “cough” the Continental
Black Widow is a trained ballet assassin. 2013 - Assassin's Run is about a Russian ballerina/assassin who takes on the mafia for killing her husband. 2018 - Jennifer Lawrence stars as a Russian ballerina/assassin in Red Sparrow who is assigned to find an Intelligence mole planted by the Russian mafia. I'm staring to think Russian ballerinas are like ninjas or some sh!t.
Ana is playing the ballerina who Anjelica Huston's character had dancing on the stage until her feet were bleeding when John came to visit for his "ticket" in John Wick: Parabellum.
The ballerinas already existed in the John Wick universe. Hence the scene where she sees him walking down the stairs. Believe they were introduced in the 2nd or 3rd movie.
with her being affiliated with john im kinda wondering if john (i hope he’s still alive) will have like a group that will take down the table consists of The baba yaga , The mother (halle’s character) , The bowery king , The ballerina , The manager , The daughter (hiroyuki sanada character’s daughter) and The blind assassin
The Black Widow movie we got should have been the third in her trilogy, the first being a prequel to show how she escaped the Red Room and met Clint, ending with her meeting Fury. The second should have been after AoU because Wanda knocked loose some of the Red Room false memories so she finds Bucky (who is on the run at the time) and they go on a mission to regain both of their memories, while defeating some old Hydra baddie or whatever, but she leaves him in the wind at the end because he's not ready to face Steve. Then the BW movie we got (sans the BS explanation of Budapest, because WTF was that?) but we got to see what she got up to after CW and before Infinity War.
Very true when she was told “you will always be weaker, smaller, so you must adapt. Cheat.” I’m a small female who trained in martial arts and I’m under no impression that I can go toe to toe with a man and win by power alone. You have to adapt, modify and fight dirty to survive.
Agree 100%. I love how they're incorporating so many elements from the John Wick franchise...casting, cinematography, even the expertly choreographed fight scenes. This film could be epic with the right script.
I was not expecting Lance Reddick to show up, damn that got me. And as always the action seems so fun to watch, you know it's good when you have an actual reaction to something happening on screen and not just an understanding.
Ballerina was filmed in 2020/2021 and takes place between JW3 & 4, production was started but delayed during the Covid lockdown and finished in 2021, two years before John Wick 4 premiered, it's been on the shelf for over 3 years. I really can't think of any reasons why they waited so long to release it, they were hinting at a release of Ballerina a year ago at the same time as The Continental tv show debuted in September of 2023 but that never happened, I was starting to think it might get the straight-to-streaming/DVD treatment.
It’s crazy how the black widow comment is in every video I’ve seen so far. And when I instantly saw this for the first time, I was like I wish this was black widow. But that rated r……
You're not far off. The concept is from that of the ninja. Ninja didn't run around in black pajamas. They were the farmers, gardeners, smiths, carpenters, and maids. Regular people that would often go unnoticed. Combine that with modern technology, mobsters and a dash of cheesy tropes. Bomb! John Wick.
Ballet is a perfect cover for an assassin... world travel required by work and the "company" you dance for books accommodations at the Continental. Civilians would have no reason to question it.
Ballet was introduced in part 3. The men did purely Sambo, and the women were doing ballet when John Wick goes home with his "Ticket". So yeah, none of that had anything to do with any of it. 🤷
Guys, please watch Day Shift, it's the only movie directed by Chad Stahelski that isn't in the John Wickverse, it could be in the MCU though, I could see Blade doing a cameo if there's ever a sequel to it.
I desperately want the people behind these movies to be put in charge of an MCU or a Batman movie. Like… give them Daredevil, or moonknight, or Punisher, or blade
Ana De Armas has a talent for on screen cool sassiness and determination, that can make this totally work, really looking forward to this. She is amazing.
i cannot wait for this movie Ana De Armas is freaking stunning, R.I.P to the Late and great Lance Reddick and it's set somewhere in the events of the 3rd John Wick movie where john goes to the theatre where he ask's for passage to Casa Blanca to see Sofia (Halle Berry)
Redefines the meaning of A Knock At The Door. That’s a home alone door trap there. Just replace the knobs with a grenade. From the world of John Wick. The Postal Worker; You’ve Got Mail.
The fact that she has to improvise and use anything to her advantage, means it’s going to be entertaining as hell. Bang bang bang can get boring after a while.
Well, Jay, going by your Hypothosis that in the "World of John Wick," the most unassuming are the deadliest; then it only stands to reason that Sesame St. is actually--- _The Street of Killers!_
Can't wait for this movie. It was said parts of this were filmed during JW4 and this spin off takes place in between JW 3 and 4. this was lance reddicks final movie ..since key small parts were filmed during JW4
There is another John Wick movie being filmed in 2025. Right now they are finsing up Donnie Yen spinoff. My guess is that Arma, Donnie and Wick will team up for the next Wick movie and take down the High Table.
I love that they titled this "From the world of John Wick" so you don't fall into the Harry Potter syndrome. By naming the franchise Harry Potter what people are going to continue to want more of is Harry Potter... When Fantastic Beasts came out and fell flat with the public, it's because everything that made Harry Potter work, wasn't in these films, including cast - which hurt the reception of those films. This franchise doesn't need to ride on the coattails of John Wick, the expanding of this universe should be from the perspective of the company John Wick works for. That way you can go in any direction you choose to go in the future and it doesn't feel like, 'oh, this is the new female John Wick' , 'here's the new ____ black, latino, whatever John Wick' - no, this is a different character that works for the company John Wick works for. Smart move by having him in it, that will bring in more audience for HER movie, not riding on the coattails of John Wick. The is the smartest approach to handling and naming this expansion.
It’s not the best title, “from the world of”, but they had to get John Wick in there somewhere, for marketing. I bet this movie is gonna do insanely well, so for the sequel, it’ll probably be able to stand on its own, and they can drop the subtitle. I’m already crazy hyped!
"The black widow movie we wanted"; you cannot even imagine how many people are saying that in so many different reactions online and just in general commenting on the official trailer video as well. You're right on the money with that. That, cuz unfortunately Black Widow was more about you seeing an attractive woman and a skin tight suit as opposed to action.
I'll be honest, if I never heard the phrase "You have no idea..." in a trailer again, I'd be really happy 🙄 This looks very well made, but I'm not the target audience.
i gotta tell ya guys, i don't need another single trailer or tv spot or clip for this; i am SOLD on it. i'm wondering where it fits in in the timeline. i'm sure i'm wrong [somebody correct me pls] but didn't Angelica Huston's character [The Director?] die or was she just injured after she met with John? either way, i'm in
The Ballerinas were introduced in John Wick 3, John lived with them and was trained there.
He only seen John Wick 4 😂
The movie was shot back in 2022 and has undergone some re-shoots.This movie is set in between John Wick 3 & 4.
Re shoots is an understatement. This is like a whole new movie from the original one.
Plus the protagonist has a new name now - before the reshoots it was ‘Rooney Brown’.
They brought the JohnnWick director in to do the reshoots.
Good.
Yeah, apparently the original movie without the shoots didn’t have enough action scenes and did not test well with audience members. I will say, knowing that, and the fact that they did the re-shoots to kind of rework it into a better movie makes me feel a little more at peace with it being delayed over a year from its original release date. @The_Movie_Minute the Continental was not that bad for a 3 episode series. Story was whatever but it had decent action. Good enough for tv
that black widow comment was a BURN AND A HALF!
That was more of a burn than that flamethrower would have done to someone.
Jay is speaking TRUTH!!!
Amen Jay!!
Black Widow deserved better...
The Ballet School was already part of the John Wick universe, this movie is expanding on it
He skipped John Wick 1,2 & 3
Black Widow is a trained ballet assassin.
2013 - Assassin's Run is about a Russian ballerina/assassin who takes on the mafia for killing her husband.
2018 - Jennifer Lawrence stars as a Russian ballerina/assassin in Red Sparrow who is assigned to find an Intelligence mole planted by the Russian mafia.

Don't believe in Hollywood... that's the stupidest thing you can do
😆
4:50 yup. Jay hasn't seen John Wick 3. He needs to see the scenes with the ballet school
That water vs. fire scene is awesome
Ana is playing the ballerina who Anjelica Huston's character had dancing on the stage until her feet were bleeding when John came to visit for his "ticket" in John Wick: Parabellum.
its Lance Reddick's last movie
No from what I read there's two more. There's a movie called Apteros which remains unreleased.
@@alyleeand he will voice in the newest season of Vox Machina as well
The flamethrower vs. firehose is, if nothing else, an interesting take on the beam struggle.
From the World of John Wick is the subtitle of the spin-off stuff. The Continental series had the same subtitle.
Adam has to constantly nitpick things apart that doesn't fit in his tiny worldview
This was the promotional Title.
Ballerina was mentioned when The Continental was coming out.
Also, Jay needs to watch John Wick 3 to understand the ballet thing.
The ballerinas already existed in the John Wick universe. Hence the scene where she sees him walking down the stairs. Believe they were introduced in the 2nd or 3rd movie.
I realize Assassin Big Bird is a Jurassic Park Raptor with outstanding charisma & pedagogy skills.
with her being affiliated with john im kinda wondering if john (i hope he’s still alive) will have like a group that will take down the table consists of The baba yaga , The mother (halle’s character) , The bowery king , The ballerina , The manager , The daughter (hiroyuki sanada character’s daughter) and The blind assassin
Been waiting for your reaction!
I didn't know I needed one of those fake trailers with Big Bird comped into a slew of Jon Wick scenes, but I do now!
From the world of John Wick: The Violinist (from the subway)
From the world of John Wick: The Pencil, Pasts Erased
From the John Wick Universe and Children’s Television Workshop, Gonzo the Garrote
Ernie the Eviscerator
Seeing Charon one last time was a gut punch.
Gentlemen.
It’s sleepy time.
I’ve done my waiting. 60 episodes of it!!!
Still stoked for your trailer reactions too though.

Not a huge John Wick fan, but I will watch literally anything with Ana de Armas in it. That woman sets me ALL a-flutter.
Sometimes, when Jay gets going , the way he talks reminds me of Will Farrell's Harry Caray 🤔🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️❤️
Ever wonder why Sesame Street has no crime...BIG BIRD, BABY!
Re-stomp the groin! Ameridote! Master Ken would be proud.
Agree 100%. I love how they're incorporating so many elements from the John Wick franchise...casting, cinematography, even the expertly choreographed fight scenes. This film could be epic with the right script.
Yes, this is what the Black Widow movie should have been.
Black Widow also rules, though.
are you serious with is remark?
@@fundudehere1 I mean it’s literally the same thing the guys said after watching this trailer.
True
ZERO marvel movies are as fun or well constructed as any john wick movie.
The Joy on Adam's face is everything.
that dance comparison was crazy accurate Jay
I was not expecting Lance Reddick to show up, damn that got me. And as always the action seems so fun to watch, you know it's good when you have an actual reaction to something happening on screen and not just an understanding.
Yea, that Black Widow comment, you cooked with that one... 🔥
Nope
So true. The Black Widow movie that we wanted.
Was too late for that. The movie we got was to introduce the new one.
Two completely different movies
A Cookie Monster vengeance/team-up movie would be amazing.
Ballerina was filmed in 2020/2021 and takes place between JW3 & 4, production was started but delayed during the Covid lockdown and finished in 2021, two years before John Wick 4 premiered, it's been on the shelf for over 3 years. they killed Snuffy. now Big Bird won't be outsnuffed! From the World of John Wick ....
The ballet has already been a big part of the John Wick movies.

I'm sorry, I see Ana and Keanu together and immediately remember that knock knock movie... men of culture, salute
Boah I really felt it when she kicked the dude in the plums.

Combine that with modern technology, mobsters and a dash of cheesy tropes. Bomb! John Wick.
Follow That Bird 2: From the World of John Wick.
To be fair, the show was also presented as "From the World of John Wick".
This trailer calls for the following words for the 2nd time this year: Let's fucking go!
Ballet is a perfect cover for an assassin... world travel required by work and the "company" you dance for books accommodations at the Continental. Civilians would have no reason to question it.
You made such a good point on the Black Widow comment Jay! I totally agree!
Ballet was introduced in part 3. The men did purely Sambo, and the women were doing ballet when John Wick goes home with his "Ticket". So yeah, none of that had anything to do with any of it. 🤷

It feels like there is at least a daily trailer nowadays
if they'd done a prequel of Black Widow BECOMING a widow, they could have spun it off into a whole series of films
instead we got.....something.
That black widow comment is so accurate
Ana De Armas has a talent for on screen cool sassiness and determination, that can make this totally work, really looking forward to this. She is amazing.

Now I can’t stop imagining Sesame Street x John Wick: Elmo needs guns…lots of guns….YAYYYY
So would you guys say that scene with the grenade would be a good example of a Hurt Locker? 😄
Cheers,
--Matthew
That isn't really what the black widow movie was that would be more of a black widow origin story, but I see what you're saying looking to
4:30 ...And the lie detector says, "You are telling the truth!"
Jay the very first John Wick you need to see it's the best one
Well, Jay, going by your Hypothosis that in the "World of John Wick," the most unassuming are the deadliest; then it only stands to reason that Sesame St. is actually--- _The Street of Killers!_

First of all, the "Black Widow" movie that we all wanted was "Red Sparrow"
There is no second of all... that's it... that's the post
i';ve heard some atrociously bad things about red sparrow.
So accurate about the Black Widow movie.
“Looks like you already have!”
Rest easy Commander Zavala

Need Ana de Armas to now be the lead of a James Bond movie
There is another John Wick movie being filmed in 2025. Right now they are finsing up Donnie Yen spinoff. My guess is that Arma, Donnie and Wick will team up for the next Wick movie and take down the High Table.
The kick in the Nick Nacks 😣 then your oooooooohhhhhhh reaction 😂
I would love to see her play Mystique 🙌🏽

I dont give two F*** if Keanu appears even for 1 minute I'm going for theatres to see him for that 1 min.
