Hocus Pocus was literally the performance of her career. She was amazing and so unrecognizable of herself. She was so amazing and In character. It takes a lot for me not to see her as carrie bradshaw
I remember in a interview when SAC ended. The interviewer asked about Carrie's purse and favorite things and she said first of all I'm Sarah not Carrie. Carrie is just a fictional character I'm a real person.
I'm kind of nervous (they announced they're doing a sequel) if she's so SJP now that she can't let go and have silly fun with it like the first time. Like she'll be more Carrie as a witch instead of Sarah Sanderson if that makes sense?
Hocus Pocus was hardly the “performance of her career”.

Those saying she seems ashamed of Hocus Pocus, to be fair being in a movie and watching the movie is totally different for actors. For every minute you see on screen is hours of work for cast and crew. Loads of actors tend not to watch their own movies after the premiere, so they tend to forget things and not know as much as the fans. She seems to have fond memories of the actual filming regardless.
Just read an interview in which she stated she only watched the movie once, so I understand where you're coming from on this. And to prepare for the sequel, she watched it again

Hocus Pocus 2 is finally back in the works, out next year. All 3 are returning. :D As a 90s kid who still watches this every Halloween, I couldn't be more excited. Even if it's not nearly as good. The nostalgia waves will be intense.

I've always thought SJP'S look in Hocus Pocus really worked for her - as in, I think it's one of her best looks of all time. She's always had a bit of a mysterious, edgy, sexy, cool vibe to me, and smokey eye makeup and romantic, flowy clothing and hair are stunning on her. Fun fact, a distant ancestor of hers was one of the accused during the Salem Witch Trials :)
Totally felt her and related when she talked passionately about chilled/frozen Reece’s peanut butter cups. I kind of felt like I was the only weird one who liked ‘em that way. ❤️

Such a fan of hers for over 30 years now. I was a whole 7 years old when I saw her for the 1st time in Footloose, which to this day I don’t get tired of watching. Soon after she was in Flight of the Navigator, I wore that VHS out haha. Such a fan of hers, I’ll watch anything and everything with her in it. Always so delightful, beautiful, and talented. No such thing as too much SJP 💖💖

I’m always fascinated by stories from people who grew up with heaps of siblings. I have three so - I have some, I just can’t imagine having that many other kids to have to share things with and hang out with.

Love Hocus Pocus! I was 11 or 12 when we first saw it. It is still my favorite.
She was excellent in Hocus Pocus. I have always wanted her to portray the late Viola Liuzzo in a biopic and to be interviewed by Jiminy Glick.
People have to realize that many actors don't keep track of all the roles they play, particularly if they have a varied, decades-long career in film, TV, and theater, as she has had. They also tend to not watch their films/shows repeatedly, like fans do; some don't even watch their own stuff. And they may only memorize their own lines and not the entire script after reading it once. At least, she has recollections of doing the movie and loving aspects of the filmmaking. I'm willing to bet she has clearer memories of *Sex and the City,* because it was such a big part of her life for six years and she was more heavily involved in the production of that show.
