This baba is very articulate. I wish it was now that everything is in the open because of social media. Anyway, none of us were there to judge the matter, but all I know is karma will always collect: if you did good karma will do you good and vice-versa no matter how long it takes. I pray his request from Sunny is met and I wish him long life and prosperity.

Ejirè.. l hope you have a robust sharing agreement for Gbenga Omonitan & Sunday Aiyeoba & Co on future TH-cam royalty sharing, who knows what d future holds for all dis ur videos on TH-cam/ d web. But lf not, pls make sure u have a signed agreement in place before u do ur next video account on KSA musical history.
Baba left KSA band 1985.. 37yrs ago but still needs KSA help which makes sense if it's only help. But we all need to understand there was no signed contract or partnership agreement btw KSA & his band members, this is why he can hire & fire multiple times.
We honestly need to give kudos to KSA for maintenaining & sustaining some of his band members from 1966 -1983 (17yrs), 1985(19yrs) & 2007 (32yrs)..
Can u imagine if KSA was not wiser during d 1983 Japan sabotage on d plane by his core band members, he would have simply been destroyed by d actions of d toxic members & there will not be King Of Juju music today.
1983 KSA tactics: he gave them what they wanted in Japan but realised d imminent dangers & sacked them all & formed a new band. This simply means dat KSA his d music, without KSA there is no KSA band. And without d band members, there is still KSA band.
1966-2022 *56yrs on stage, KSA @ 77yrs old is still dancing & waxing music putting in d hours & shifts to sustain himself. He refused to retire or sit @ home & regrets. This royalty investigation shld equally go round all 9ja musician & not limited to KSA for fairness, since he wasn't d only musician in Nigeria.
The Great King Of Juju Music. A Legend, we appreciate your great work & God will not allow ur good name be tarnished by anyone.

Sorry, I meant no impertinence, but It is a matter of opinion that NIGBATI is doing investigative journalism. it is looking more like a clandestine to me. Without taking anything away from Ejire; this platform he created is SOLID. He should therefore not let some disgruntled element hoodwink him.
KSA cant be that bad overnight. These gentlemen have toured the globe and have enjoyed all the privilege's. I am sure some of these issues are no issues, in the sense that our forebears ventured into music for the love of it and most didn't sign contract of employment. Band members come and go. it is also the case that they were paid by each engagement.
Respectfully however, it will be disingenuous of anyone on this thread to take these old wives tales seriously, without hearing KSA's side. I am sure KSA has a treasure trove of stories of band members disloyalty and mutiny. NIGBATI, had once interviewed some former band members on this thread, who praised KSA to high heavens and even pointed accusing fingers at some band members as Judases. For instance, Alhaji Tiamiyu(Ayan-Lead Talking drum) had nice things to say about KSA, even the gentleman called THOUSAND WIRE etal.

KSA is a good man, Sunny paid these people when they are working with him. Those of them talking about Pension don't know anything about Pension. If you're working and getting paid and the company you work for has Pension, you must be contributing from your salary towards your Pension account and the company you work for will add some percentage so that when you retire you can get it paid at once or by monthly. If your work place does not have Pension scheme and if you don't contribute towards your Pension then you don't have Pension.

You are very right brother. I must thank for your brilliant submission on this issue.
The same thing is going on in Chief Ebenezer Obey's camp. The pertinent question to ask is can OBEY & KSA be that bad?
My answer is NO! they cant be bad overnight! There was no contract of employment; as members were paid as per each engagement, and that is why band members come and go without resignation. The issue of pension don't even come into the mix here. All the greats like FELA, VICTOR UWAIFO, all had issues such as this and it is not peculiar to KSA. Thank you sir. God bless.

One must be careful and pray for wisdom in coming to judgment on allegations of bad treatments by KSA and Chief Commander, Ebenezer Obey, by their ex band members. This is so as majority of them, if not all, admitted being paid either before or after they had gone into studios to wax records. This singular act strongly suggests they rendered their musical services for fees. A band member who desires to share out of the royalty of a waxed record must not get paid for his service in waxing the record, he must also contribute to the money paid for the studio used in the recording as well as instruments used. Having collected money for their services in waxing the records, they must be deemed to have sold their services at the time. Their 'ogas' take the profits if the record is sold out and loss in case of failure.
And for their concert/parting outings they also admitted to being paid for same by the band leaders. Therefore, in the absence of express agreement providing for payments after they have disengaged or been disengaged from the bands they can only appeal for favour from either KSA or Chief Commander which I think the band leader should favorably consider if he is in a position to.

You know what, this Baba is hiding a lot of truth. There are so many unfinished statements he made and this is not the way to describe situations. He did not have any skill for new ideas within KSA organization when other people were developing themselves. He cannot put his responsibilities on KSA. KSA tried for them even when they all rebel against him. They all should know that any one who hold the leading microphone in music organization is the leader and KSA is all round leader. He is the face of the organization and they are not equal in any way. He owe them nothing.

@NigbatiTV, you contracted Alagba Oni, when he said he hired Tiamiyu from MF Olayinka. You said Tiamiyu also drummed with Barrister, based on the Tiamiyu's interview with you, Alagba Oni found that very surprising. *You were actually wrong* I am just listening to Tiamiyu's interview with you now; in fact, I paused the interview to come and make this comment. Tiamiyu NEVER drummed for Barrister professionally. Tiamiyu and Sikiru were kids growing up in Mushin, and he drummed for Sikiru in Were outings; when Sikiru felt too big to continue in Were, Tiamiyu also drummed for Monsuru Akande in Were (FYI, Monsuru Akande was actually the first Were person to get a record, not Sikiru Ayinde Barrister). Back to the Topic, professionally MF Olayinka was the first musician that Tiamiyu would drum for, and KSA organization hired Tiamiyu directly from MF Olayinka. Alagba Oni was 100% correct in his recollection. Next time, please leave the old greats to tell their stories and stop interrupting them with your incomplete knowledge. Looking at you, I think you are still a kid in your 40s - please stick to asking the questions to get us the answers, and stop interjecting with what you think you know. Thanks for the good work.
Interestingly, Tiamiyu just got to a point where he also disclosed that Monsuru Akande was the first to release a record - Tiamiyu apparently played for Akande in that record. I myself first got that info first hand from Monsuru Akande himself, the one and only time I met him in 1978. I accompanied another Yewa cousin to visit him sometimes in 1978 somewhere in Mushin.

He should hold his brand jealously. It is a brand that has gone to places all over the world wining awards and laurels. But when people get to hear of all this what become of the brand is a cause for concern. What we are hearing about him belie all the music he has sang. He didn't leave by it. NIGBATI, Interviewed a former band member of KSA, who infact praised KSA to the high heaven and even blamed some members of the band as Judas. Not everyone will like you. "KNOW THIS AND KNOW PEACE"
These stories keep occurring because of the loose nature the business of music back in the day. Not many band members have contracts with band leaders; hence they come and go. Similar thing is going on with Chief Ebenezer Obey's former band members. Many of them have falling on hard times with no pension. OBEY and KSA, can not be that bad. I reckon that since there was no contract of employment; band members were paid per engagement. So lets wait for KSA'S angle please.
