Raga's & Kriti's difficult to handle, to have done with such ease, she deserves accolades. Matching the excellence of her mom, Vidushi Manda Sudha rani, Sruthi Ravali is sure to reach heights in Carnatic music. God bless her
I am quite familiar with Swati Tirunal kritis as a former native of Travancore, the native S Indian state which the Maharaja ruled. I have with me a big book of his songs by the venerable Sangitakalanidhi T K Govinda Rao sir. The first song Ms Ravali sang came with an added line in the charanam between lines 2 and 3 : "Vakulabharana vibhushitadeva Divya karambara shalinim" Who has done this addition? Sruti Ravali's mother or mother's guru? No matter, it is a delightful addition in the sense that it comes with the ragamudra of "Vakulabharana vibhushita" -- uncharacteristic for Swati Tirunal' sahitya. Moreover, the original charnam's line # 4 ends with 'Bhasinim'; the young vidushi sang with 'Shalinim" perhaps to rhyme with the added line's ending word of 'shalinim.' I have in my some 45 years of serious rasika listening business never come across sahitya variation in any song except perhaps MDR's addition of minor phrases (ati, for instance) for embellishment for a lift of spirit and a bit of innocent humour without disrupting the easy flow of tala. In this case the ragamudra is sweet in the sense that one gets to know the raga -- ragamudra: Muthuswami Diskhitar's creative contribution to our music -- right away without prompting. Added line came with sweet Sanskrit words and thus no harm was done. I had the great pleasure of running into this young and confident vidushi just three days back when she brought tears of joy as she rendered a soulful new raga Mishraharikambhoji (Annamacharya's 'Indariki abhayamu') song. This kutcheri was in 2014. In 2018 she is as fresh as she was in 2014. I did not realize that she is the daughter of Manda Sudharani, a great singer herself. Now Ra ra rajivalochana, Mysore Vasudevachar and Mohanam was sweet. Kannadagowla's 'Sogasujuda tarama?' lovely song. Harikeshanallur Muthiah Bhagavatar's 'Raja raja rajite' in Niroshtha raga.Rare song in rare raga -- pranams Kumari Ravali. She is confident, she has in her confident possession mellifluous and effortless voice, she is destined to the great known all over the planet. I wish her all the best. Varali will lead to what -- unless we run into an RTP. Even a difficult raga like Varali she is handling with such ease that it fills the heart of all serious rasikas including this one soon to be 73. This turned out to be the major song. Mamava Minakshi is a major kriti and she took it seriously with that elaborate alapana. Her voice is the right one. As long as she takes care of this gift of great voice she will surprise and tickle us with rare songs [already three tonight] for years to come. May she be blessed with the best of solid health and happiness beginning this Jan 2019. I wish the young pakkoms too all the best. The Varali song came with the doubled up joy of Mishrachapu. Ha ha ... Sruti has the blessing of lovable stage demeanor devoid of unnecessary hand waves and head shakes. She is all round. There is a Varali song by Swati Tirunal 'Mamava Padmanabha.' Harikeshanallur after leaving the darbar of Travancore he settled in Mysore. So I am not surprised that Kumari Ravali chose his songs in addition to Mysore Vasudevachar's at a concert in the old Mysore state. She was paying tributes to those giants. Kapi javali by Poochi Iyengar was sweet. When she sang the Thyagaraja churnika ragamalika she came alive with bhavam and bhakti without a note of mishit or mispalcement of the profound Sanskrit sahitya. Kudos to her. Indeed it was an excellent kutcheri. She ought to be proud of herself. As I came back from a walk to the mailbox soaked in this winter's snow showers I was warmed up this old kutcheri. I will sleep soundly with Vakulabharanam and Niroshtha on my septuagenarian mind. From the village of Post Falls in Northern Idaho Naryanakurup Kanthikumar 28/12/18 8pm[good night]

An appropriate name 'Sruti ravali' to this child, good clarity in rendering,
Simply spellbinding Ravali. Reminds me of Sudharani Amma only
Proud of knowing you via maternal uncle of ShrutiRavali ; excellent engaging clear rendering
ramarao chetlapalli
