    50/50 BLO and Turpentine is exactly what was recommended to me by Nomadics Tipi makers for my Tipi and it worked out well. Looking forward to seeing your finished Tipi.

    Nice straight trees.
    I have been trimming on small juniper trees for years keeping the lower branches gone for straight poles.
    Nothing that long.

    Boy, you have to be careful not to shave one of your valuables off with that drawing blade. But, on the bright side, you have plenty of fire feathers there. Can't wait to see the finished product.

    Not name dropping a brand but there’s a knife company that names by numbers that can do all of your cutting chores with one tool that’s carbon steel and is made in the USA and is a four letter acronym! I truly hope they’ll send you some samples😃

    Now I have questions like: how long to dry? how many coats? Will the rain have an adverse effect on what you have already done?

      I let them dry a couple days, one heavy coat is fine, they were dry when it rained so no adverse effects

    the oldest method for wood preservation was ..... blood with varnish, animal bile, and urine, lime, iron oxides from clay, soot, salt, etc.😎

      Didn't get around to it when they were cut. Tipi time is a treat for me, I run a business full time so treats have to wait on other priorities

    I use to have a phone case thats called LifeProof it worked great for me its water/snow /dirt/ drop proof it saved my phone plenty of times well with water dirt and drop dont really have snow down here in Texas lol
