That Girl was my favorite show when I was a little girl and Donald should be any girls dream boy friend. He was mine. I just noticed coming across this… how well done. The opening music with editing hitting every picture right on the music beat. Excellent for the time.
Ted Bessell gives the circumspect look like no other. He was adoreable. Gone too soon. Ann is just a wee ungrateful in this one, ya think? Glad she comes to her senses🙄
Marlo contributed a lot to the script so I'm sure she made Donald a decent character, however, he was quite accomplished in real-life and was married to the same woman his whole life.
Too bad Marlo wouldn't let Ann Marie marry Donald in the last season. She revealed her entitled liberal views by ruining the end of a show so any loved.
When Anne sits on the sofa, after she let's Ruthie into the apartment, and until the end of that scene with Jerry, her crutches randomly change position. Ruthie places one against the back of the sofa while the other is against the side. Then they're stacked together. Then there's just one, which can be scene falling when Anne is on the phone, etc.
I was so glad to see it was Ann's mom instead of her dad who came down this time. Of course Ann would want shelf paper with daisies on it! Sounds like a typical silly argument that couples have.
Why were you surprised? They were a perfect match. Same outlook on life, same feminist beliefs, same religious background, and more. You need to see the TH-cam clip of Marlo's appearance on Phil's talk show, in 1977, where they appear to be instantly falling in love. They were married in 1980, and remained happily married until sadly, Phil passed away last month. August 2024. Yes, Marlo always was beautiful, and Phil was always very handsome.
All that beautiful dressing went out with the hippie/women's liberation generation and has not come back. Women used to go shopping with pill hats and high heels, gloves and purses. That whole vibe got wiped out, never to return. Now they show as much of their body as they can just short of getting arrested. No class now - just smut
We all need a Donald
Yes we do.
Please ❤

Among the marquees in the opening credits is the original production of "Cabaret."
Donald is the best boyfriend ❤

She also goes to the door with two crutches and has only one when she gets there.
The crutch wrangler was not doing a proper job. Wrangling. The crutches.

Crutches move at 5:00, first one at side & one in back of couch, the one in the back falls, then neither is visible by 5:50.
Has to be the most perfect specimen of a woman I have ever seen, and Ruthie is not exactly cut fish bait either.
I always thought Marlo Thomas was very beautiful. I was surprised that she married Phil Donahue. I always like that girl.
i have a That Girl doll with Ann holding the flag.

"Footlash" 😂
She was so ungrateful to everyone
Why don’t women dress like this anymore?
