- Punjabi Masala Wadi/Vadi is a Sun-dried/oven dried, spicy lentil ball that is added to Indian vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes for that extra spicy kick!! Needless to say, since it is made from lentils,mostly urad dal or moong dal, it gives a protein boost as well to the dish!
It takes very little of your time to make wadis...let the Sun do the rest of the job! Crowning glory, wadi can boast of a long shelf life, 6-8 months!! And not to forget very liitle dal (lentli) can yield a big batch of wadis!!

I have made it but by mistake I add salt. Can i use it
Yeah, absolutely you could use it. Generally salt is not added to wadi mix because it tends to thin out the mix. While using wadi in any subzi, keep account of this salt so that you do not oversalt your subzi.

Sister, very well explained, I also stay in less sunny country, i will try it in comming days, but pls let me know i would like to do this process with full enclosed uris daal or broken daal with it's natural covering with full fiber.

Kya vadi ko gas cake oven me rost kar sakte hain because I don't have microwave oven. Please answer.
Subhasis, agar aap oven ko continuously 2-3 hours ke liye chala sakte hai tou app wadi usme bana sakte hain. Agar aapke yahan dhoop acchhi aati hai tou aap oose dhoop mei bhi sukha sakte hain. Dhoop mei sukhana bilkul traditional method hai.

Bhavana, salt is never added to the batter. If you add salt, the batter loosens up and does not form proper roundels and the texture of wadi also changes.

Suman, ideally convection microwave mei sukha sakte hain, lekin maine khud kabhi nahi kiya. Apne experience se nahi keh sakti. Mere microwve mei convection mode hai hee nahi.
Aap chhota sa batch try kar sakte hain.
Ye recipe without oven nhi ban sakti kya
Aap wadi ko tez dhoop mei sukha sakte hain. Dehydrator mei bhi bana sakte hain
