4:20 Another button I have never seen after 3k hours played. I have always set the attitude of each subject individually. Thank you again for showing me the error of my ways.
Lots of content creators out there showing you what to do in 1444, usually implying that if you don’t follow these key steps in the first 30 years you’re screwed … Love to see this reinforce that this game also rewards perseverance 🥳
No matter how many saving your ruined campaigns I watch you manage to always amaze with the nation being fully fixed! Great video as always! Thank you for all the good work❤
For easy mode: > Get France's subjects with mission. > Inherit subjects through event union with France (You could force this by disinheriting your heir, though only in older patches). > Cannot be annexed by the event as Burgundy if liberty desire is >50% (Probably, usually it's at 100% anyways if you did the Public Weal mission and rivaled France). > Either declare war yourself when truce is over (You can wait a bit if you wanna dodge AE, coalitions can't form against subjects), or the event may fire and give you a free truce-ignoring independence war.
I learn something new every time I watch you play this game and I have almost 1000 hours sunk into it, lol. Thanks for resurrecting this series. very enjoyable.
Very nice comeback! You masterfully dodged all of the setbacks. I would've personally moved my capital to somewhere in the holland area because of the monuments that, when upgraded, gives local defensiveness in the area.
Keep these up, Zlewikk the builder gives me hope even when my campaign starts going off the rails. I hope someone uploads ottoman collapse or something soon. Keep it up!
Whenever I feel like I'm getting good at this game I watch Zlewikk pull off the crazy comeback and realize I'm still a big fish in a small pond lol. Amazing content love your vids.
Would love to see some later saves. There are a lot of late 1400s/early 1500s games but the answer to those is usually “restart and play better”. 1600s+ saves can get wild.
I don't know if you've ever played it, but a really challenging historical ruined campaign scenario is playing as the Song Dynasty in the Extended Timeline mod right when they were getting invaded by the Mongols. You start at war with them, only control South China, and have to survive--somehow--with the Mandate of Heaven. The Mongols have twice your troops, control a ton of Asia (it's right when Genghis Khan died so they were almost in Hungary by that point), you have no allies, and your fort line is nonexistent with a ton of grasslands against steppe hordes... I tried it and it feels impossible. It would be awesome to see you try it on this channel.
I want to revisit some of my old ruined campaigns. I had one as Oman where I ended up with almost 90% autonomy in all of my provinces and had a 9-ducat income in 1480.
You did a great job! But one thing I am wondering: when the events of the inhertitance fires, isn't it best to pick France? You inherit all subjects for free and afterwards you can win the independence war with ease
this was a blast. Wonder how much you'd have to wait for 51% warscore vs. the coalition to get something out of it (even though the war leader was small, so probably not worth it)
@@gonenc6179 you have to wait the death of your script ruler (Mary) so unless she immediately die after you get the event between choosing staying independent, PU by France or Austria. You won't get annex by the IA, you get free instant annexation for your french vassals.
@7:27 Doesn't repaying loans with higher interest (due to low stab) just increase the amount you paid? Been a while since I looked at specifics, but thought you shouldn't repay at points like this.
I think why the "Saving Your Ruined Campaigns" might get less engagement is because a lot of people have the perspective where they think many of these are intentionally manipulated by viewers to be worse than they normally should be just to create more of a challenge for you. It's just not as much fun if you have that in the back of your head.
I didnt want to risk France as they have mission to immediately inherit Burgundy if they are under pu While Austria? I wont kneel under these betrayers!
I'm curious on your reasoning to not take one of the personal unions so you inherit. France is super weak at that point, so picking them would be an ez pz independence war later, and you inherit all your subjects for free. Do you get other bonuses for choosing to remain independent Burgundy?
With the new DLC, France has a mission to just immediately integrate Burgundy if they get them as a PU. I found that out the hard way in my recent Burgundy playthrough and the autosave happened right after I chose France. Broke it entirely.
To be honest, I think going with Austria in the BI event would instantly save the campaign. All french vassals inherited, no more coalitions. And be a good baby for 5 years then ally Ottomans to destroy Austria.
Imho the peace deal - options of a coalition war should be altered. It makes no sense that you are fighting e.g. Spain, France, Great Britain, PLC and Ottomans in a huge war, but you only get war reps and full money from Anhalt, who declared the war.

I'm just playing my burgundy campaign for the 2 achivements and might have gone really fast having to juggle a coalition but I have almost whole England half iberian and I'm the emperor having a 1 province France as subject with byzantine as well... But now I can't move becouse of a coalition.... Improve relationships for 100 years probably 😂
Try to take as many "improve relations" bonus to make the agressive expansion decrease faster. And to continue expanding while making as little AE as possible, you can use vassals for the reconquest CB (release a vassal from a province, and use the reconquest CB to take their cores for very little AE), or diplo vassalize and annex small countries.

You should do a historical ruined campaign as the inca in 1531, where they have tech 3 and have to defend from spain

@@_chrismis_7964 he starts off at war with Spain

Imagine simultaneously fighting France, Castille, and Austria as a ruined Burgundy in the 1480s
perfect

Love the return of ruined campaign. Great video and it really showed just how outnumbered one can be and still win.

i swear liege trying to take down burgundy with a coalition is hilarious
Finally some more ruined campaigns!! I’ve been missing them, they’re what made me fall in love your channel and made me a much better player!
I realy like the Save the Ruined Campaigns video. And I was missing it. Thank you dear sir !

@@ZlewikkTV fair enough! It's good to see it again after a hiatus

So glad this is back! Loved it!
Great job!
It makes ppl (like me) thinking: do I even know how to play this game? 🤣
Yeaaah!!! Zlewikk saves the day again \o/
Damn that was a rough one! And the end result, such a powerhouse nation.
i love this series! i've been waiting for new ones. please keep them coming!

there are plenty in the playlist! This was #74 saved
I like when you put emphasis on the battles. I think many players see the enemy has more troops than them and just give up with out trying.
Always a joy to watch these videos.
I love ruined campaigns! This is what I subed for.

this was very cool please make more of this!!!
this was a blast. Wonder how much you'd have to wait for 51% warscore vs. the coalition to get something out of it (even though the war leader was small, so probably not worth it)
You have to take forts, since not much you can gain from ticking and battle warscore
You could choose the easy path by going be PU by France and then declare independance war but guess when you save a ruined campaign you do "save it".
Can't France instant annex burgundy now?
