This is a simply astonishing performance of a very interesting sonata.
Tempi are well judged; the ornamentation is totally appropriate, tasteful, and is exactly as Haydn or Mozart would have done when playing this; and the performance as a whole has character and has clearly been thought out.
The Finale is simply a masterclass for any would-be composer - a clever demonstration of how to manipulate, develop, and explore the possibilities of the most innocent of motifs in an endlessly fascinating journey over 227 bars.
Fantastic performance - highly recommended.
I listen this daily.
May I ask how much time to work on this piece music you need. I am Planning to do this .
That depends on your level of skill and, to some extend, on your ability. It will take only a few weeks for some, while months for others. Good luck with this!
Besides the technical aspects of the work, you really need to understand the character of each movement, of the sonata as a whole, and Haydn’s musical language - something which Bavouzet does here exceptionally well, with great taste and understanding of Haydn’s very particular musical language and idiom.
