    Simon I must say watching this reminded me of many of the same places in my vids, I love big backgrounds and Toronto offers that. I love your style of narration, music and editing all point on. You have a filmmakers eye for sure. This was a great vid my friend and smashed the like hard.

      Eh Joe thanks for watching, I appreciate your time. As I mentioned on Twitter, I really was influenced/inspired from watching your YT channel, so thanks for that :-)

    Loved it Simon, absolutely fascinating video with some superb shots. I particularly liked the tip about blending exposures - excellent advice.

      Thanks Chris, it was fun to make, but had enough of built-up areas for a while. I'm yearning to be in the wilderness again and do some landscape photography now. I'm spending some time up Keswick way from Friday night, so hopefully we can catch up, at least for a swift pint of fine ale!

      I'm up for that - I'll ping you a DM on Twitter and we'll sort something out.

      Thanks Mark. That was a bit of an experimental video, i'm still trying to find my style and channel direction. Appreciate your time!

    • @MarkHoltze
      @MarkHoltze 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're in the experimentation phase, you'll find something you like and you'll do that for awhile and I suspect you will incorporate other elements into it as well. I've got a load of stuff I want to explore, it's still in the realm of what i do now, but it expands it a bit.
      The time will reveal itself, it's an interesting thing, just go by what feels right at this stage. Enjoy the unlimited creative freedom and expression in experimentation. Style? Style will change, story will dictate your style I suspect, it does for me. Nothing I work on is exactly the same even if my process is similar.
      When I work in TV, I have a saying..."let the edit speak to me"...usually starts when i've got the foundation of the story bits (engineering of the edit) working. Then I get to play with some of the story telling elements and thus....style will find it's way.
      I like what I see so far, and you're gentle with my time so thank you for the info and entertainment.
      Enjoy this process, it's pretty cool we all have a platform to share and express ourselves in front of a potential audience...no matter how big it is.

      Wow, thanks for the amazing feedback, it's really appreciated, particularly as it's the business you are in. Like you, I spend my daytime working for clients, so to have ability through this platform to share some creative expression and experimentation is certainly a wonderful thing.

    Great video Simon - I really enjoy your content. Toronto (and Vancouver) are two of my favourite cities. I've not been to either since I got into photography. You've made me want to head to the airport and jump on a place :-) Some great photography tips as well as where to go and how to get there. I often find my biggest challenge is where to park and how to get to locations. Loved the cityscape images!

    • @SimonBurnCreative
      @SimonBurnCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, do it, jump on that plane! Actually, it's snowing hard there right now, so I should go there myself, not having shot the place in the snow before. Parking is a huge pain, I always park on the outskirts and jump on the subway, with the exception of Cherry Park, where there always is parking. Thanks for watching and commenting :-)

    Loving the travel videography style. Something I have been experimenting with and hope to feature in my future videos. The first exposure blend was superb.

    Haven't been to the city with my camera for a few years. As a matter of fact, I think the last time I was there we took our bikes to the island and finished the day with the Centre Island shot. Good memories.
    Oh, and it's pronounced Tronno ;-)

    • @SimonBurnCreative
      @SimonBurnCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Love the islands, will have to go back. I was pronouncing Toronto for the tourists, so they won't get confused :-)

    Your work deserves much much more recognition and exposure Simon. Very McKinnon like style which for many is very appealing. Excellent imagery throughout and a great insight into the city. The closest I’ve been is Vancouver so same country at least 😬 Nice work👍👍

    • @SimonBurnCreative
      @SimonBurnCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks James, I think this kind of editing style lends itself to a city, but not sure how I will get on when I get to the lakes in a few days. It's going to be a challenge to follow in the footsteps of James Burns, Chris Sale and Thomas Heaton and so many others :-)

    • @JamesRBurnsVLOG
      @JamesRBurnsVLOG 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Simon Burn Totally agree, very urban like editing. I’m not really a fan of speed ramping but that’s probably due to the fact I haven’t done any urban vlogs. I’m sure you put a lot of time into this. I may bump into you if in The Lakes then👍👍😬

    • @SimonBurnCreative
      @SimonBurnCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Story always trumps trendy effects, for sure, but this style of editing is what a lot of people like, so I had to give it a go :-) Right now, my channel is all about experimenting and trying stuff. Will look out for you in the Lakes, the hat is a big give-away!

    Really nice! Hey, and if you do this in the fall, the sun rises later, so you can sleep in a bit ;-).

    • @SimonBurnCreative
      @SimonBurnCreative  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Andy! Yes, we're getting to the point where a little more sleep is possible, but more people around is the downside sometimes.
