The big reveal was under recessed LED lighting against a Matt Black facade. They could have at least gone with the same rounded edge pattern as in the Death Star corridors.

Remember the mid-engined Renault R5 Turbo from rallying, insane one-offs like the Artz Golf with Porsche 928 engine and interior, and VW's own Golf W12-650. The PML Flightlink electric Mini Cooper QED with four 160 hp in-wheel motors came out 15 years ago.
Sadly, people want jacked-up crossovers and SUVs, not hatchbacks. A tri-motor Hyundai Ioniq 5 N model would look like a hatchback, but it's a pretty big car.
Amazing to see Croatia making such a comeback. I wish the entire industry of the country grows back as well.

The car is an engineering masterpiece and the option to have it auto-drive you around a track at 100% human race driver pace is insane
He took some Duracells and put them in a carbon fiber chassis. Takes much more skill to build and tune an internal combustion engine to the same levels of horsepower.

Congratulations on such an amazing car, Nico! I also find Mate's and Rimac's story absolutely amazing. Starting a car company is nearly impossible, starting an EV company is even harder, he has achieved to so much in only 12-14 years. I wish I had the money to buy into this car, story, company, and Mate. Amazing all around!!
That’s completely wrong. An EV is way more cheaper to design from the scrap than a combustion vehicle. Just designing a new combustion motor which needs to comply with extremely strict polution regulations ( at least in europe) requires tens of billions. That os not the case in EV.
Rimac’s story involves Goldman Sachs and their 5 billion dollar fine and huge bailout curtesy of US taxpayers. Trash

This car being only a second model of a car that was created from scratch by a Croatian company that never made cars before to be this well made and Well thought out is absolutely insane. Car companies that have been in the business for decades don't even come close.

It's all about hiring proper engineers and engineering graduates for that very purpose. Also, the majority of other supercar companies are mostly targeted in other directions, such like ICE models with exotic sound and vibrations, driver engagement (for the manual transmission models), maximum speed or low weight for better track performance, luxury, fancy looks and/or a much high-volume production. Those companies were just recently forced to start developing hybrid or fully electric models due to stricter emission regulations and the high penalties they pay for producing high power ICE cars.

one thing is to create super car from the scratch and slap a price tag of couple hundred thousands of dollars to cover development costs, completely different is to create affordable safe economical vehicle under competition from 100s of other manufacturers, for regular people who can afford it with their salary... so, if you really wanna test capabilities of one country, develop everyday vehicle

The most Humble “CEO” of any company I was enjoying every word that was coming out of his mouth. Stay “Humble” forever. What a great vehicle and I must say the persistence and hard work paid off. It was very touching when he said I was trying hard to figure out how to keeps the lights on for the next month and now I have half a billion in account I would say in no time you will add another digit. I was standing outside that glass tube about 3 weeks ago when I was in Zagreb. I went to the original HQ, the new construction site and then this old Bahaus store, and I'll make a video about it soon on my channel. Congrats to all of the Rimac employees on shipping car #1 after years of efforts.
The car, of course, is amazing. What I enjoyed most was the pride and rather subdued excitement in Mate's presentation as he tours his own factory and delivers to his friend his first born. Well done.

@@vika0194 pagani is art while koenigsegg makes cars that are in your face and very good for track and bugatti makes cars that are very drag efficient all those factors makes cars look very different since if you make a car just for the looks it wont be very good performance wise and the nevera is everything but in your face its made for acceleration and downforce and i have seen that you quite like to talk bad about rimac as well since i have seen your other comment
I have to say, I love the "think outside the box" attention to detail. The screen, not only does it fold forward to access the storage behind but it means you can adjust it to better suit the drivers viewing angle.
The in-built cameras instead of messing around with a load of Go-Pro's.
And the dial near the drivers hand to change driving modes. Nice size for good grip, not a fiddly dial or a small button or hidden in the computer screen. I love great design ideas like this.
I only drive a mere mk III Audi TT but the heating vents are right by my hand and angled towards the driver. The buttons for the vents are on the centre of the vents, so there's no looking around for heater controls. The gearstick also sits inches away from the steering wheel so you don't have to move your hand much to change gear, and of course, the virtual cockpit right in front of you means you don't have to look at a separate screen for sat nav or other settings. More cars should be like this.
And now they've just covered the autonomous driving so you can experience what a real driver can do in the car. That's amazing! Mapping every major track too, no stone left unturned!

Man I really hope Rimac's image and attitude doesn't change. The way this guy presents himself while still being sorta shy and nervous towards Nico and how he doesn't act all big and self-important because he's the boss of all this is just really a nice change from all the other big company bosses out there.
But then again it makes sense I guess, since he never was JUST the boss, but always a member of the team since the start, putting his own brain in and not just barking orders.

Damn I have respect for this guy Mate Rimac, as well as for Christian Koenigsegg. These two guys are absolute Visionaries and have the courage to go for it and their creations are nothing less but mindblowing. Their perfectionism and obsession to optimize every little detail lead into this one of a kind automobile art. And being this humble and polite at the same time, even if you would have EVERY reason to be arrogant and cocky makes me even enjoy seeing them as successful as they are.

Of course this incredible in every way. I am a petrol head, current RS5 after an RS6 (getting used to it haha !). I think what this shows is design will be "key" in the next few years and this will be as important as performance. Clearly 2000 HP is crazy !! But it will not take long before electric cars of a more modest proposition will meet this and exceed it. Then much more modest car will "own" this car in data alone (0-62 etc etc). So then it will come down to what you are buying - here, a work of art for a petrol head !!

I really like the way Nico thinks. He talks about not having to crash the cars for testing purposes in the future and about the plastic part of the key he mentions to wait if plastic can be replaced.
