Another excellent, well-planned and on-time delivery of the basic infrastructure. Well-done to all involved.

Such lack of seeing the overall scheme in those earlier commitments- our existing rail system nears the age of
    200 years

I hope the tons of concrete is recycled and put to saleable use. And well done giving the contract to local firms.

Wasn't it possible for the new bridge to be a few meters away, and to use the old bridge for whatever in can support ? Even just pedestrians and bicycles ?

Will u keep the pylons that r next to the M42 also, can u keep the Pylons that cross the M42 near Junction 9?

For 320 kph trains over a motorway? Trains stopping takes about 1km for every 85 kph, which means you'd be waiting a while at the level crossing, as if it failed the train would have to stop

@@MikeWillSee.. HS2 has recently been labelled officially “unachievable” after months of setbacks & delays.
Project managers say the high-speed rail link, which has already been beset by delays & soaring costs, is now in further trouble, with the project deemed officially unachievable & given a red rating by experts who believe the project will never be finished.
Problems with the first two phases, from London to Birmingham & then to Crewe, “do not appear to be resolvable”, engineers have warned, which placed the entire future of the project into doubt.
The government’s infrastructure watchdog, the Infrastructure & Projects Authority (IPA), said that the project is not deliverable in its current form after the group analysed plans for the construction of the first two phases of the high-speed line, from London to Birmingham & then on to Crewe.
The IPA reports to the Cabinet Office & the Treasury & its finding will be seized on by campaigners against the project, who have said it is a waste of money and cited wildlife concerns in the past.
A “red” rating was assigned to the plans for the construction of the first two phases by the group in its annual report on big projects. This means that “successful delivery of the project appears to be unachievable” in their opinion.
The report states: “There are major issues with project definition, schedule, budget, quality and/or benefits delivery, which at this stage do not appear to be manageable or resolvable. The project may need rescoping and/or its overall viability reassessed.”
It's nothing more than an environmental disaster of epic proportions & Britains biggest infrastructure mistake in half a century.
Anyone with half a brain knows that "pausing" the B'Ham to Crewe line & Euston station for 2 years is just another way of saying "cancelling".
