This is so sad. Everything I hear about WDW's so-called improvements reinforces my determination to boycott all things Disney. Maybe Muppets are no longer popular, but why not preserve them as a matter of interest? They haven't lost the ability to entertain even if you never seen them before. They have far more charm than the Monsters, Inc. characters.
Why do we the fans have to fight The Disney Co to keep what we love. Just add new rides, don’t take away existing rides and shows. After Speaking with many people I have learned that Disney has developed a negative image with all that they have done over the past decade or two. Is this really the image they want to project to the world?
Where exactly do they plan to put this proposed "monster's inc. coaster"? From the concept art, the building looks like it's smack dab in the middle of the backstage roadway that circles the back of the park. I get that it's just concept art but there's no way anything roller coaster sized is even going to fit in the Muppets courtyard without interfering with other park operations.
it started getting better recently and we're at the tail end of Iger, his contract ends after 2025, with any luck his replacement starts undoing changes
@ Whoever it is has to be better. Should have the better traits of the better leaders from before which was Walt Disney and his brother Roy, Michael Eisner, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Peter Schneider, Frank Wells, Roy E. Disney, Ed Catmull, and John Lasseter but also add something new and good to the mix. I truly wish that I could step in to lead Disney. While I don’t have “relevant experience”, but I have vision and I would NEVER forget what’s important and I would respect all that Walt Disney stood for. I started working on a project that’s a detailed list of what has to be fixed at Disney in specific areas and general parts. In the context of the parks, I think each one should keep Muppet Vision 3D and other experiences that are real fan favorites and that stood the test of time but also updated to make it new
I’ve been going to WDW since 1977. I’ve seen many changes, but the historical attractions have always remained. It’s what makes Disney, well-Disney. I haven’t been back since Chapek left and looks like I will never want to. Another stupid idea from Iger and his team of dimwits. He’s going down like Biden as the worst ever.
in my opnion if muppet vision 3-D is closing (jims last work) could other attractions such as walts last true work (carousel of progress) be on the way out too?
Also, when are we going to get a closing date for It’s Tough To Be A Bug? Are they gonna keep that attraction open for the summer and then close it down in the fall for Zootopia?
We’re thinking of visiting in August before they destroy EVERYTHING. Planning on staying in the camp ground and chilling for 1/2 the days we go (14 days on hold right now, 7 days of park tickets. Most likely will be a one and done trip). I can’t wrap my head around WHY they’re closing everything right now 😩 start 1-2 projects and finish them before shutting down more.
Hmm, I saw you make a comment on another video. But in regard to theme parks here, what do you also think about the ride, Dinosaur’s dark fate at Disney’s animal kingdom in the future? I know I’m not happy about that, I want it to stay. Meanwhile, I love the movie.
I would like to see Muppet 3D one more time but that would require giving money to the mouse to enter his park. MGM Studios has been a dead park since 2016 when the ended the Osbourne lights and tore down the water tower. I have not been to the Orlando parks since 2006.
To be honest, I wonder if the parks people are high on that special spice. They have enough room to create a new land without retheming an area, so why retheme an attractions land. Either way it will still not make a profit even if the muppets moved to rockin rollercoaster. As we seen with Rocket Rods and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure combining gentle and thrilling never actually works and yet they keep doing it. They need to STOP, THINK, and REDO their strategies because these rethemes aren’t going to bring in money. What actually would work if they actually pay attention on who brings in the money to make the investors happy and that would be people like us the fans. However, they think they know what the fans want that maybe be true about 5-25% percent of the time in the now period but in reality they are like 75-95% of not knowing what the fans want. If I’m right and they are going to retheme rockin rollercoaster to the muppets it might will damage the muppets more than actually helping them. Just like how Tiana’s Bayou Adventure damages the Princess and the Frog and the Rocket Rods damage the peoplemover support.
I can't believe they are doing this. as a kid, I loved the muppets, fraggle rock, and even Labyrinth. I like Monsters Inc., but this is unacceptable. They should have put Monsters Inc. somewhere else. this was Jim Henson's final work.
They could've easily built the monsters inc coaster BEHIND muppets courtyard in that parking lot. parks build attractions in the parking lot all of the time
If the picture of Muppet Jim ends up in a skip rather than being handed to Brian Henson, Disney have no class whatsoever. The lack of any major Muppet promotions during their 70th Anniversary is tragic. We can only hope that plans are occurring for them to take over the Villains Shows building in a few years which is the right thing to do.
At this point it’s clear that Disney just can’t help themselves anymore.
I truly hate living in this broken world that keeps getting worse with each passing minute
Muppet Vision 3D always drew a crowd and it was a good 10-minute break they're pretty foolish about getting rid of that
This is a cost cutting measure from the bean counters

They're no longer popular and yet Disney is using them to retheme the Aerosmith coaster

They should have built monsters Inc. land over in animation, Courtyard because there’s way more space over there and you can make a bigger coaster
I used to go every 2-3 years. Every single decision lately has alienated me and I no longer have desire to visit Disney parks except the Tokyo ones.
Me too

A salute to all IP but mostly Monsters Inc. 😢

Sorry for sounding as a real downer
It saddens me that Disney views the Muppets as a worthless franchise

The nail in the coffin for me with Disney. Done.
why the hell close it right before summer?
More closures. We're visiting there in July, sadly this year is turning out to be a terrible year to visit Disney =(

Maybe put the Muppet monsters in the theater. That would go with the theme.
That was Jim Henson’s last project. I am very peeved.

10:44 Maybe we have this all wrong. Is there something historic about these offices?
I bet you its going to be slapped on disney plus
save muppet vision 3D!
Yeah!!!
Bob Iger and Josh D'Amaro have gone too far! FIRE THEM NOW!!! 😡
I truly hate living in this broken world that keeps getting worse with each passing minute
AGREED!!

also disney is being stupid unlike star wars launch bay across the way disney jr or the little mermaid show muppet vision can still pack a show
June 7, 2025. You're welcome.
When muppets Vision and the stunt show are gone there will be absolutely no reason for me to return to MGM/Hollywood studios again EVER!!!
I can't believe they are doing this. as a kid, I loved the muppets, fraggle rock, and even Labyrinth. I like Monsters Inc., but this is unacceptable. They should have put Monsters Inc. somewhere else. this was Jim Henson's final work.
What about Sesame Street?
@kylekeller3398 Oh yeah, i definitely remember watching Sesame Street.
This closure is a crime against humanity…
Didn’t ever think that maybe a hoax by misinforming trolls? Vandalism! A vicious practical joke!
Why don’t they call it monsters land and combine both IPs?
Yeah except half the muppets are ANIMALS
Can we just pull a very merry muppet Christmas movie and make the muppet theatre a historical landmark??
They could've easily built the monsters inc coaster BEHIND muppets courtyard in that parking lot. parks build attractions in the parking lot all of the time
That's cast parking unfortunately

No word on where Muppetvision will go either. Not good.
I say Epcot. Put it in the Pixar theater.
Muppet Vision is not a ride
We know duh
Monsters inc isn’t even relevant anymore
But Muppets still is?
Of course
@@etherealbladerx8153yes. They are timeless
0:49 Actually, if he's a muppet, then he's a very manly muppet. If he's a man, that makes him a muppet of a man.
It’ll be Tron Coaster, but with a Sully robot.
I’m not OK with Pizza Rizzo going away.
I am convinced bob iger is intentionally destroying disney.
