Crazy that entire games take place in smaller spaces than this. Working on the crew of a fully functional Idrus could be an entire game in and of itself
oh for sure! getting a crew on one of these and living off the ship with everybody doing thier jobs onboard will be a really cool experience i reckon - a lot of crew though so challenging at the same time!
@@Citizen_Kate im just trying to imagine the logistics of managing and organizing the crew in an online game fashion- client crashes etc. looking forward to seeing how well CIG pulls this together in the coming years!
I guess CIG will need to implement a good social and crew system which supports online gameplay, most likely a diagetic one. Something like allowing certain permissions and giving instructions from the captains seat. Currently the captain seat within the game is more or less useless and has no function. I would love for example if it had an ingame voice system which allowed ones voice to be heard througout the ship if you sat in the captains seat. @@MrPuddinJones
I have a feeling we will definitely see missions or events like this! not to mention it happening in PVP situations (especially after the Legionarre gets released) - exciting times ahead or sure
I feel like the K, which is what most players will have, will be a little lacking in broadside attack power. It doesn't have the S7 turret on the nose nor the S5 missile launcher. If something with heavy turrets can outmaneuver the main S10 gun, the S5 and S4 turrets are pretty standard.
Tank you Citizen Kate for a video that is ACTUALLY sane and measured in the coverage of the Idris. The nice pace of your tour, gives one an appreciation for the scale of the ship, and a reminder, that, for all of it's internal space, you ARE just a thin hull away from vacuum.
I love the mini-skylights in the mess hall, and hope they get used for more ships going forward. They've spent all this time and money building a universe, it would be great to be able to enjoy it whilst playing.
It's cool to see a lot of the locations that we saw in the Squadron 42 trailer. I recognized the medical bay, the armory/shooting range, and the flight deck.
Excellent tour! Always appreciate the POV with you and your team/org mates. This ship is so well fleshed out and I appreciate all the windows to get perspective outside And to watch ships and activity in the hangar. Feels like a self contained starship sim.
One mistake with the floor plan is you never have the captain's and the x.o.'s rooms next to each other. You need separation of chain of command in case anything bad happens.
This video gives me the tingles. Just seeing you and your team walk through a ship that I've owned for a long time and knowing that it is nearing completion... yeah. Some kind of Wonderful. This ship along with perhaps the Kraken, will be the work horse of any large org IMHO. We know how to attack and defend a carrack with PVP events. This is a Carrack on major steroids! Sneak on board and steal an old F-14 tomcat as your escape ship... ;) Also... you know we will all want to see how fast we can fly through the hanger bay... it's going to happen... just be sure and duck when the racing ships zip through.. BTW.... what ship are you looking forward to the most? Idris or Kraken? I myself am looking forward to my Privateer. :)
Thats soooo awesome to see. I can see many kind of Scifi genre shows that you could have on there. Battlestar Galactica, Andromeda and so much more, but in gameplay life.
Deploying & receiving that under-belly drop-ship is going to be more interesting than the Merlin aback the Constellation! 🤗Stoked for the teams' accomplishments thus far.
doesnt make sense for the Kraken as it is. You only got space for the bare crew on the Kraken, while on the Idris you got a lot of extra slots for foot soldiers. So a firing range makes sense. But I certainly hope that they also add extra crew slots on the Kraken, as it's certainly also a place for smaller fighters to land and take off from. honestly I hope the privateer upgrade will become a kit like with the Idris in which you can freely add and take off living containers that otherwise you could also get. That would solve the whole problem. You could sacrifice cargo space for living quarters or stores on your current demands. You could even setup a own firing range that way. Drake style.
Im not so sure the idris is that close to ready. Many textures seem to remind me of the reclaimer. They are both old and could use a gold pass. Also, the sim pods were probably put in when we still had the hangar module with the sim pods. Wouldn't be surprised id they removed those before releasing the Idris
The Idris is your home base in Squadron 42, they likely exist as diagetic means to access a training mode. Wouldn't be surprised if they just hang around as "out of service" in PU
Shame you did not put someone in the brig and see if it can be opened from the inside. You did't punch the training dummies to see if they reacted, only making these points as you are normally so detailed in your exploration and observations.
Because it makes it a believable space, and it's best to put in placeholders for future features so you can mark out space, instead of needing to redesign the whole ship every time you need to add something

Esp since you want auxiliary ships--a lot of the org members will want to pilot rather than crew.
3-4 shifts, I think.

The Idris interior could be a great FPS map. Imagine the 890 jump rescue mission but in an Idris instead.

This is the capital ship I'm excited for. It's like a mini-Bengal, all the functionality you could ever want!

@@themanyouwanttobe Can always upgrade to an M in-game.
so many years of "spoilers so we cant show you" and we can finally see it!

I cant wait till we can truly live on a capital ship and spawn and stay there and use it as a base. Thanx for posting, good tour!

The most important take-away from the video was that a British person respected the que. Even though it's just a digital one 😂
hahaha yes queuing is sacred! i'll die on that hill :D
@@Citizen_Kate hahaha love it!
That ship is massive! Thank you for the tour

I hope the Hammerhead gets the same interior lighting as the Idris in the future. It just feels so dingy now.
The planet and city they were at at the beginning and end of the video is ArcCorp, Area 18. It where the convention for Invictus will be.
Cant wait to race Pulses through the halls!
I cant imagine how fun it would be to try and take over a fully player crewed Idris, it would be a epic fight
So cool, good tour!
Is this software global illumination ? I wonder what it would look like with real global illumination
Such a wonderful and detailed tour! Thank you for much for sharing!
Can't wait for this to fall into all of our hands! Amazing!

Fingers crossed this comes out with 4.0. having big capital ships will be almost mandatory for org work in Pyro.
8:15 wait was that a character that looked like a young Chris at the front or is that just cause of lighting?
Thats soooo awesome to see. I can see many kind of Scifi genre shows that you could have on there. Battlestar Galactica, Andromeda and so much more, but in gameplay life.
I'm glad I own this ship. My favorite capital ship in the game.

cant wait to launch from an idris! looks so cool
Watching this on my phone, but was that Chris Roberts stood at the front of the bridge as the captain? @08.00
They still going to hold it back for SQ42? Or since the cat is essentially out of the bag will they release it for 4.0?
That's a lot of ship. Let's hope some of that lighting was only for the event or work in progress as it got really dark in places.

Do you dare to take a tour of the interior of the RSI Bengal ?
I wonder if the idris will be released along side the Polaris? Also what version of the Idris was this?
Very nice tour!
this ship is from the squadron 42 gameplay showcase, so cool 😄
There should be spaces for at least more officer private quarters, like the chief engineer and the medical officer.
is this coming to Live with 3.23.1?
how do i get into the idris
Breifing room! I am Gary Oldman.
Where is this located in game? What station?
Pretty sure tat Briefing room is straight off of BSG!
I love this damn ship, but i can help but be made happier by this for the next best ship.... theeee kraken!

It’s so large it’ll never be utilized in full capacity.
Even a dedicated rp group would struggle , and I’ve never seen one.
I want to get an Idris but I dont have enough friends 😢
Shame they can't release this before SQ42 because it will 'ruin the experience of walking around it for the first time'.
...
x.x
Now i can’t wait for KRAKEN. !!!!
Cool ship i want it
thank you.
....Life aboard an Idris?
Why is your view crooked? Like your head is leaning left or something. It’s so weird.
Shame you did not put someone in the brig and see if it can be opened from the inside. You did't punch the training dummies to see if they reacted, only making these points as you are normally so detailed in your exploration and observations.
Why does it have drop pods or escape pods when we already know they don’t fucking work
It doesn't >.> It has "Sim"ulation pods, ergo the in-universe access to arena commander/simulation training for the pilots onboard
It will work in something, so they have to make it before cuz chance the entire ship affer they add scape pods doesnt make sense
Because it makes it a believable space, and it's best to put in placeholders for future features so you can mark out space, instead of needing to redesign the whole ship every time you need to add something
Looks great but NPC's still not sorted......... Yeah sums up SC in a nutshell.
Please for the love of god turn off head tracking on foot. I'm getting motion sickness from this video.
So Idris is a bunch of corridors.... with alot of waste space
they could easily fit 2 argo in there if they knew what they were doing. such a massive waste of space
This game will never work, to many moving parts
Seems to be trucking along fine, even if it's slow progress 🤷♀️
I saw it in game and was not impressed with the idris
really? i'd definitely be interested to hear your opinion on why you were not impressed
Cool story
