The shock and pain in Valentina’s face. It breaks my heart. I understand that Luzia is going through a lot but so is Valentina. Her wife doesn’t even remember marrying her. Luzia needs to be more understanding. Don’t worry she’ll grow on you I promise
So, I understand why Luiza is getting so upset, because when she lost her memories, she retrogressed to what she remembered of them from college. That Luiza "hated" Valentina, or at least told herself she did because of how much Valentina used to bother her at every opportunity. Val was like her arch nemesis. Waking up now, she's treating Val like how she would have, if the Val who was always messing with her and picking on her tried to kiss her cheek or sleep in the same bed It's a perfectly reasonable reaction to me; why be nice to that Val? There's no incentive for it. This is what they do. Val pisses her off and Luiza snaps at her. The only difference is that college Val got egged on by Luiza's reactions but this Val is taking them more to heart because of the relationship they've built together over the years.
I guess I understand why she is doing it but I don’t understand how she could. To me that’s not how a young adult would act, that’s how a preteen or teenager acts. So I think that’s why although I understand her reasoning, I don’t understand her method. She doesn’t have to be nice to her if she doesn’t want to but she is going out of her way to be rude. Her touching Valentina’s face and saying everything she said was spiteful tbh. I agree both need to give each other space but Luiza also needs to analyze the situation more, which I thought a young adult in law school would do. From the first episode it was clear Luiza had an issue with Valentina while Valentina just liked to pick on her. Luiza made things bigger than need be because she has a short fuse and Valentina fed off of her anger because that’s the only way she probably felt could talk to her and get her attention. Both childish but nonetheless it seemed like Luiza had more patience for Valentina in the first episode compared to now.
@@vickyreacts I get you. To her method, I would say: 1) that we all have that person who can have us acting like a child, whether in a positive sense or in a negative sense; Valentina is that trigger for Luiza. 2) You know that saying, we teach people how to treat us? Well Valentina has gone out of her way to embody all the things Luiza detests in the name of getting a rise out of her and "because she looks so hot when she's mad". Valentina has essentially taught Luiza, I am deserving of rudeness and contempt, by expressing opinions and beliefs she doesn't even hold, which she herself finds contemptible. It's why in episode 1, her brother warned her to be careful, that people didn't start to think that those ideas and beliefs she was expressing were sho she really was. I haven't seen Luiza react like that with anyone else throughout the series, and there are some people that really deserved it. So much attention was focused on Luiza that I think the show missed an opportunity to highlight that really, Valentina's earlier actions were seeds she'd sown that played a huge part in how she was being treated now. Because Luiza doesn't remember the past 10 years. To her, the time of Valentina saying despicable things and doing infuriating things is yesterday, and the relationship they've cultivated, which Valentina encouraged, is be rude to me, snap at me, show me contempt. so Luiza wakes up without her memories and this is the only way she knows how to treat Valentina, because it's the relationship Valentina has actively encouraged. The fanfiction does a better job of showing the balance , I think, because there, Val actually apologised to Luiza for everything she'd put her through before they were able to develop a better relationship. 3) I don't think we can really expect or demand Luiza operates from a perfectly rational or logical place right now. She went to sleep one day and woke up with 10 years of her life just gone. It's devastating. Even when you mistake of the day of the week, and you think it's Wednesday instead of thursday, that feeling of misplaced time is awful; I can't even imagine what it would feel like to wake up and not now know anything about 10 years of your life. Her body is different. Her mind is different. She has a son she doesn't remember, with no time to get used to the looming responsibility of motherhood. And to add to all this, she doesn't get to process what's happening to her in a safe, supportive environment, surrounded by friends and family. Partly because she's trying to be a good mom, Luiza is forced to go through this huge emotional upheaval essentially stuck in a house with the one person she dislikes most in the world, mistrusts most in the world, because that person has gone out of their way to represent everything she hates. She's in a position of extreme emotional vulnerability in front of someone she can't trust, so she makes herself hard and initiates the best defence of an offense. Even if some part of her is able to analyse the situation ( such as when she apologized to Val after Val pointed out that she's not the only person suffering) the sheer emotional overwhelm of what she's going through, means that sometimes, the emotions, as well as the programming of all the years she's known Valentina (Law school is 4-6 years where I'm from) is going to override the facts she's been told, literally that day (Val is her wife, they were in love, Val is suffering too). 4) I also think we need to bear in mind that the scene we're shown in episode one isn't a one time thing; it's indicative of a pattern of behavior that Valentina has established for years. So I don't think it's so much that Luiza is making things bigger than they need to be or that she has a short fuse as, that after years of this, she's over it. She's done. The scene with the motorcycle in episode 1, I think, didn't effectively capture what happened. This story is based on a fanfic that the series follows pretty faithfully and there you see that essentially what happened is that the moment Luiza got on and they had been driving for 5 min, Val gassed it and went speeding through the streets to mess with her. So it's not like Luiza is just exaggerating when she says they could have died or in how upset she got. 5) If it seems like Lu had more patience with Valentina in college than she does now, I think that would be because she didn't have to go through this huge trauma of losing a decade worth of memory, and being a mom, at the same time as dealing with Valentina. She could escape Valentina at school, but now there's no escape because she lives with this person she dislikes all the time. Being forced to share your home with someone you detest is often so much harder than encountering that person outside and we manage it differently too. I hope this helps with understanding Luiza's method of behavior a bit. If she's being contemptuous and spiteful, it's in part because the Valentina she remembers deserves it and in part because that's the default her memory loss takes her back to. I think it's easy to set aside what Luiza is going through because Val is so pretty and seems so nice but when you look at the story they've created, it makes perfect sense that someone who loves passionately and hates passionately would exhibit this kind of behavior to someone who was essentially her bully/ nemesis. Everything Val does, even the nice things (especially the nice things) is seen as manipulative and untrustworthy, because of how Val carried herself in the past. It's going to take Luiza a moment to appreciate that this Valentina is a different person and Val has to be part of that process🤷🏽♀️

I couldn't stand Luiza at this point either. She is actively being mean, but having seen the series now I really love Luiza. I think remembering that she is literally in the midst of a complete mental breakdown and lashing out at the person she remembers hating, who she feels tricked her into marriage and to abandon all her values. She blames Valentina for what has happened to her and actively* *hates* her right now. Plus she has some intense feelings left from both the trauma and also attraction that she cannot figure out what to do with. I don't think it excuses her childish behaviour in the first half of the season, but I think makes it more understandable at least.
Yeah Vicky they dont give previews perse but they do give one or two 1 min vids releases of some scenes bout the next episode between the week. Which i found it better this way 'cause it doesnt tell you what is gonna happen right after the episode u watched but a few days later as a reminder u get a couple little peeks and keep the angst of wanting more and the exciment that u will watch it soon.
