Excellent breakdown of the psychological reasonings behind LaMotta and his character. To add there was lots of turmoil in his upbringing that also shaped his character as well. LaMotta was forced to fight as a child by his father against other children for betting sport. Also, due significant hearing issues, he was forced to idly sit by while the rest of his peers went off to fight in WW2, a fight where it was sense of pride to enlist and do your duty. Just two other avenues into the reason person's character of aggression.
Those’re some great points you’ve brought up Spaghet! I remember reading up on LaMotta’s background and completely forgot to associate some characteristics De Niro might’ve taken into account when encapsulating the character. Thank you for watching and sharing some kind thoughts!

@@BillGriff1 I thought it was incredible, the main character is so interesting and seeing his insanity grow was like a car crash, where its horrifying but you cant look away. Defo in my top ten horror and foreign films and one of my all time favs! Without this channel I would never have heard of this hidden masterpiece. @@thenormalpigeon1153 I’m so glad that you enjoyed watching The Cremator! I was completely sidelined when I first watched it myself. It’s definitely underrated in the “making of a monster” genre. I’m hoping someday The Cremator will win a poll so I can dedicate a video dissecting that character!
