The closest thing would be the closed road course locations with the houses and blocked off roads. I was surprised when the TT Isle of Man 2 game developers introduced an open map to explore, and then opened up the Isle of Man course in TT3 too as an option.

I played 5 for a short time and regarding physics I think it is way better. Brakes actually stop you and the rear wheel kicking out is way more manageable instead of the start braking before you even should start thinking of braking Bike/rider finally feels like it has some weight to it.
That's interesting, i've actually felt the opposite. I bought Ride 4 last summer and started playing it today, and felt that the physics felt good, but unnecessarily difficult to master. However i've been playing for about 100 hours now, and i'm enjoying it. A few days ago i bought Ride 5 to give it a try. The graphics looks worse to me in 5, although that doesn't bother me that much. But the handling... I mean, for me the bikes had the cornering and braking capabilities of an american cruiser (for the record, i do ride an american cruiser irl xD). Tried different things, and the brakes improved by reducing the ABS, but the cornering just felt horrible to me no matter what. And the rest of the game, i didn't analyze it very deep, but it seems to be pretty much the same, with a few newer bikes and the 300cc category getting eaten for breakfast. So i returned the game within an hour and went back to Ride 4 xD So yeah, for me Ride 5 feels like a downgrade in everything. But each to their own i guess xD

Thanx for this video comparison. There is no reason to buy R5.... in some situations R4 looks even better. In the shifting comparison in R5 the driver do not use the clutch lever.... In general i would say that R4 looks more clear/sharper. And i still wait for the drivers view like it is in the replay of R4 (lot of visible driver movement)......

Pessoal, existe um fator na iluminação , que se chama GI ( iluminação global), ou seja, na vida real o ceu reflete indiretamente em todos os objetos, dando uma sensação mais clara ou sem aqueles altos e baixos contrastes como no ride 4, tudo que reflete tem uma leve irradiação da cor do céu. No ride 5 isso é bem notável, principalmente nos tons pretos. Os desenvolvedores fizeram um ótimo trabalho, as vezes o tom escuro no ride 4, faz lembrar mais o realismo, mas sem a GI, isso torna tudo sem vida. Analizem com mais cuidado e atenção.
The RIDE franchise is always bringing more of the same. We want innovation and I was thinking that this time they would bring a Forza-style open world but unfortunately it wasn't this time.
After playing both the games lighting in Ride 5 has improved. Specially the shadows on bike and avatar. New maps are good too. Very few bikes available for purchase. While Ride 4 has a huge list of bikes and maps are good too. Sound seems better in Ride 4.
Graphics are better on 4, more realistic, I wonder why they changed it to a more "arcade" one on 5. But lights and shadows are far better on 5, try to compare for example light transition from late afternoon to evening when the sun comes down on both. On 5 is awesome. Motion and sense of speed is a little better on 5

I played Ride 4 on PS4 and ride 5 or PS5 so there's a huge graphical leap for me. Go the game looks practically the same, I could see far out in the distance, track references are easier to see at speed, the game just overall looks smoother. There are a few bugs that need to be worked out, especially the endurance bug but overall enjoying the game.
Not had the chance to play 5 yet but I have played 4 for many hours :) I don't see much difference in them from these clips. My only wish was that they added the view from 4, where we hang off the side of the bike in actual gameplay. I know it would probably be hard to ride like this but I think people would get the (hang), no pun intended of it, and getting that knee and elbow down to the tarmac would add so much more impressiveness to the game. They have the graphics for it so just implement it into the physics and if people don't want to use it they can use a different view :)
the biggest difference is the amount of bikes there are imo, theres way more common bikes in ride 5 such as the rs660 and stuff like that, however theres no r7 ? theres an old 1998 r7 but no newer model which is annoying!
I like the game, it is exactly what i expected, i loved ride 4 so i didnt want a completely different game, i dont care about free roam or romantic story mode so it is exactly how it should be. The graphics are better, physics are better and more fun. I just wish there was more bikes like the new zx4rr and zx25rr or cbr650r. As soon as they fix the endurance races bug it will be perfect. When i want to play a diferent type of motorcycle game i go to IOM 3 that is a fantastic game too. Im just happy i have both to play and have hours and hours of fun.
TH-cam compression doesn't allow us to see the difference tbh. Playing 4 and played the trial for 5 and as far as graphics go, there's a very noticeable difference. Resolution seems to be improved too, maybe 4 was upscaled,idk but there's a decent upgrade that TH-cam doesn't show. The issue isn't the graphics but the fact that 5 doesn't have an option to "lean" like 4 did. Maybe it's the trial idk but im waiting for ride 5 to arrive, ordered it yesterday. Il update this with my opinions once it's here. The trial did seem a bit easy for my liking even tho I set all to manual but maybe it's different in the main game. Ride 5 is better graphics but the audio and physics seem the same, physics actually seems worse to me but maybe it's coz it's new. Cutscenes are a nice new addition though, makes it feel like a AAA.
The only aspect of graphics that I cared about to smooth out from Ride 4 is how it processed light in itself. The tarmac so often turned into a mirror, as well as shadows becoming too dark. With too big of a difference(blown out highs and lows) it becomes very hard to determine speed, your placement, braking and everything. At night time I hated the track lights(I wish night races would be gone forever because this is a game and we can choose) because it just washed out track references needed especially at night. Now in Ride 5 they have chosen to turn all lights at night into tragic bright sunrays and it just feels confusing and the work of the devil. If I could turn it off I would because that would make everything have even lighting. There's still bikes without a headlight and if these still are allowed to enter night races, as well as night races in the rain it will just be a new idiotic mistake. It would be best if they just chose to keep races within the dawn to dusk timeframe. Ride 4 had issues with tire physics, and Ride 5 has it too so just leave out night and rain to be a bit blunt about it because entering 3 lap races where it starts pissing, and before lap 1 is done it starts drying up, only to completely fry your front tire. It's just stupid. If people want a challenge, just ride more ffs...
To be honest i have no clue why night racing and rain are such big selling points in these games. Like i do not know a single person who rides bikes (irl) that would rather race in the rain or at night than during the daytime. It is such a chore in ride 4 that you have to do races at night, or during thunderstorms. Sure it looks REAL but fact is no one does it. Maybe if it was 1 race out of 100 then maybe it would be good, as a sort of oddball series. But in EVERY BLOODY SERIES you have a fucking rain race. Fuck off! If Ride 5 could just get the ground clearances of bikes right that would be a good start. Cant fathom how anyone can seriously think an MT09 can carry the same corner speed as an R6.
How have they managed to make the graphics worse than in a 3 year old game? The only notable improvements have been the in the physics and engine sounds, almost everything else has been a downgrade.
Ok so i neither played any ride and i see 2 big things 1 the light i feel is better in ride 5 like if u look at the front lights of the bike or light overall... Detail wise id say ride 4 has better gfx but ride 5 better animations like how he shifts and moves on the bike or the wheel when he rear brakes .... otherwise both look amazing

Dude...I was hoping to see the Cbr 650 R....I was left sooo disappointed but atleast we got the 600 instead...but not as good looking as the 650 r

Motorcycle games are created by people who never actually rode bikes. Well, maybe that’s ok since most of the players have never done in either. Horrible graphics and detail and don’t even get me started on 3rd person camera and what you actually see from the helmet. Pathetic for 2023.
