the lens at 1.5 isnt as soft as you make think it is if your doing photography and have lightroom if u just edit the photos or even just the clarity the lens is super sharp and detailed and the same with the chromatic apperation just select dechromatic apperation and its a beaut
Hello, I have a gh5 and I am working with a 25mm f1.7, I have seen the video and I really like the lens, but not to repeat the distance that lens would you recommend me rokinon cine ds, thanks and greetings.
At 4:18 the annotation of 25cm min. focal distance (MFD) is misleading; MFD is the distance between the point of focus (object) and the focal plane (inside the camera body), not the front element of the lens. Nice video nonetheless!
Hey Sam! If you had to choose between this lens and the Sigma 18-35 f1.8 lens which one would you pick and why? Of course I would use it for videography.
+Laccer in hindsight, definitely the Sigma 18-35mm, I've used both and I think the Sigma is sharper wide open and you get a bunch of focal lengths included. Hope that helps 😊
really good review. I'm interested in buying this lens, but I want to know how good it is for recording smartphone reviews. I do smartphone reviews and I want to be able to get really close to the subject. I know you said that it has a short minimum focus distance, but can it get close enough to show small details on a phone? I would like if you can make a video of a smartphone with different kinds of shots. If you already shot a smartphone review with it then let me know so I can check it out. Thanks
Hi there! I tried this lens yesterday during a meteor shower, I'm not very experienced with night photography, so I just watched a few tutorials and read some articles about it before going. Most of them said that I need to set my focus manually to infinity, some said that sometimes I shouldn't go all the way to the max cause then I will get beyond infinity which will result in blurry results. Since it's not an option to "guess" which one is infinity, either the one to the max or just below, the only way is to try and focus on bright stars or the moon using the lcd and magnify, but this is not very handy when hunting meteors. Is there a way to know exactly and precisely where is the infinite focus bar on the focus ring of this lens? thank you
Thank you! I bought the 24mm a few weeks ago, but I did also get a 14mm Lumix lens for the bmpcc. This 24mm does not play around with the focus ring, I´ve gotten used to autofocusing on specific areas on the fly with my t5i rebel and it´s not that easy with this beauty. I wouldn´t take it on a run and gun situation but definitely on a planned video production. How do you think this 24mm goes with my rebel t5i?
Thank u for video! Sam maybe u can help me. I use Panasonic Lumix G7. What should I buy: Samyang 24mm T1.5 or Panasonic LEICA DG SUMMILUX 25 mm f/1.4 ASPH maybe Panasonic LUMIX G 25mm / F1,7? I'm fighting with myself which will be the best choice and I cannot decided... Maybe you are able to share with your opinion?
Prime lenses (non zoom) are awesome cause they give you such a sharp image, a fair bit sharper than what zooms can generally give you! But if you absolutely want a zoom, you should check out the Sigma 18-35mm f1.8 Art lens.

Hi, Sam... does this lens work for a full frame camera such as Lumix S5 (with L-mount adapter)?
found your channel and I think I may never miss another one of your videos again. I'm learning so much

Nice review and footage, i think i'm gonna grab this lens
Saya beli lensa ini sekitar tahun 2022 bang harga bekas di 4 Jutaan Sony E 😂
Seen this lens today in my local camera store for 200 (Used in mint condition) Might return tomorrow and buy it
Imagewise is this a big difference between this one and the regular Samyang 24mm 1.4?
Very informative video! Thanks for making it.
Which camera and lens did you use to record this video?
Great vid. Thanks! I’m new to cine lenses and am looking for one which also has a zoom function. Do any of the Samyang cine lenses do this? Thank you
What woul you say about the using of that lens on a crop sensor with the speedbooster 0.72? Would it be ok?

HOW DOES SAM NOT HAVE MORE SUBS
+l Jadon l Because most people are already subscribed to the people that Sam has directly copied his style from.
so if you're using it on a crop sensor camera, does it convert to 35mm or something?
Sean Mondejar it doesn’t convert it just crops in from the full 24mm field of view.
did you speak about focus breathing ?

Thomas El Hage-Boutros Its very different on every Lense, but thats normal in "cheap" production (compared to more expensive gear)
is this the mk 1? I bought the mk2... at 1.5 its pretty sharp!!
Your music in videos is so good could you tell the source thank you
So is this basically a 48mm on a Super 35?
Better than sigma 18-35 F1.8?
Loved this video. You cleared up a few issues I was concerned about.
Great review, exactly the info I wanted, now to go buy one for myself, cheers
Do you use Magic Lanten ?
Is this a good lens for a black magic pocket cinema camera?

looking for this lens for video work
Question. Can it be used in non-full frame cameras?
yes, of course. full frame means that the lens creates a projected image of at least 35mm size.
focus breathing?
Cue the music!! Haha, yessir! Great review and some amazing shots in there!
+David Bakunowicz (dkoons) Haha thanks man! Thought you might like that :)
no offense but this lens is ment to be for a full frame camera not a crop sensor which will render the focal length to 38.4
This lens good for canon 80d
Links sir?
is it have auto focus?
doesn't, fully manual
Great review Sam, thanks.
should i get 24 or 14
thanks for this video review! im gonna buy it!
what gear you used 5:33 for the camera motion
use your tripod, very easy to get that shot
okay i got it now. Thank you
i really want one of these lenses, i just wish it had a zoom range

is there a micro 4/3 option for the Sigma lenses?
+Garret R I would recommend getting one in canon mount and purchasing a metabones speedbooster if you have the cash
Stephen An yeah I really want to go that route but it's so expensive
Yeah especially for an apsc lens
I don't even have a DSLR, but i watched it anyways :D
Original-Bmpcc+metabones+samyang 24mm+tiffin Black Pro mist filter. You're welcome
👍🏽👍🏼👍🏿👍🏻 GOOD REVIEW SIR....
Sam Beckman
Very good video, I'm probably going to subscribe
I really want to get this lens but it's WAAAY to expensive. I went on line and it said it was $799!
I got mine used just today for $391 and you can even find them new for $499
1999 subs !
998,001 subs away from 1M :D

Haha thanks heaps man!! :)
+Sam Beckman 2002 ! congo !
Yep .. 10K soon
its korean copy of what?
Vintage lenses are more cinematic than Samyang..
nice
gorgeous!!!
Hey thanks for the review man, but this lens looks like it can't handle light at all at t1.5! That's some outrageous chromatic aberration!
7th viewer !
Btw, cool video as always sam.
