Rookies are slow in anything, that’s why they’re rookies but when they’re racing against each other, it will be much more even. I think the M2 is a much better car to learn what’s needed for GT4 than the MX5.
@@benwatkins3794 I might be too used to mid engine GT cars using the brakes to rotate the car on entry. But I felt like the M2 was really easy to rotate.
Would love a video on how to properly drive this car quickly. I feel like I have loads of control in the mx5 which I thought was a tough car to learn as a beginner. But after hopping in the M2 it feels horrible and I'm way slower than others in my splits despite doing well in the mx5.
It takes time to get used to the M2, I would recommend lots of practice if you’re struggling. The car really gentle gentle/progressive inputs with the throttle and a ton of trail braking into corners to avoid understeer. It’s only been out a few days so don’t stress too much, it’s a totally different car to drive but it’s a good car as every time you change cars up the license ladder then you’ll find similar issues with cars being very different to drive.
@ I suppose training through the pain is the only solution hey. I've had my share of GT3 and all sorts of formula cars and I take to those fairly well but GT4 is my main struggle and this car feels a lot like that.
Yeah 100%, I think the reason why I was able to get on pace after a couple of laps is because it’s like a mini M4 (not my favourite car on the Sim but one I can drive), but honestly, every car we drive that’s different to our “favourite” really does improve us.
@ Yeah that's exactly why I'm so torn up about not being able to drive this car to it’s limits. It means there's something I don't understand and haven't learnt yet. Something that will fundamentally make me a faster driver. A fast way to improve compared to mindlessly driving the same car and doing hot-laps.
If you’re finding underwear then it sounds like you’re braking in a straight line before the counter then trying to accelerate around it. Try and get your trail braking to taper off at the apex (not before) and gradually get back on the gas. The car is a fan of gentle inputs to stay balanced.
I predict chaos and carnage in this car for Rookies…it slides a lot.
Yeah this car for rookies is not great, the only ones who are doing good are class C and B the other ones are struggling and too slow

You say it slides a lot, I can’t get it to turn!
