No big deal. Just a self taught guy, singing a duet seemingly effortlessly by himself, as soprano and tenor, in two languages (neither of which is his first language) sitting down, in a radio studio on a bus. There is a very simple explanation. Marcelito has an astronomical level of natural talent. Thankfully this talent has allowed him to rise from his very, very difficult early life and be deservedly comfortable, while bringing joy to millions of people who are fortunate enough to hear him.

The main difference between Dimash and Marcelito is training. Dimash had professional training since he was 5 yo and Marcelito has no professional training. Marcelito grew up on the streets in the Philippines and would mimic Celine’s singing to comfort himself.

Dimash is also a great singer. But what sets them apart to me is that i can listen to Marcelito the whole day with his soothing voice, pleasant to listen to and not a strain to my ears. His demeanor is just so cool, relaxing and truly a musical treàt.

Please react to a duet by Marcelito and Morissette at the WishBus awards, singing an impromptu performance of Secret Love Song. I think that you will be blown away by both singers and their enthusiastic performance; they are out to please their fans, who requested them to do a duet at the end of the awards.

Marcelito's father was in prison and his mother abandoned him on the streets of a poverty ridden city in The Phillipines. He started singing to comfort himself when he was afraid and alone. He cleaned chicken coops for coins to support himself and sang to the chickens. With all of that he remained kind, gentle and humble. He has never had any vocal or musical lessons and is completely self taught. He sings all genres of music and in 6 languages. He started and physically works in a charity to help all vulnerable populations. He is a man to be admired.
A note about Dimash and marcelito.
A note about Dimash ~ Dimash has had a lifetime of classical training to marcelito being self taught. Dimash sings high and low but does not switch back and forth in a snap like leto. Marcelito is far more flexible in what he can sing and adapting his voice. I believe that Marcelitos humbleness is felt in his singing. Having witnessed some very arrogant behavior by Dimash, I think that shows in his singing, too. Just mho.

I agree 💯! I heard a side by side of Dimash and Marcelito singing "My Heart Will Go On" I much preferred Marcelito his was gentle and beautiful whereas Dimash was too showy and by the end it sounded like just screaming to me. Also Dimash had all the training but IMO there is no way to beat a God given gift 🎁❤️

Peggie G, thank you so much for your great comment. I saw ( on youtube) Dimash and his entourage walking to a venue where Dimash was to sing. One of the entourage had to rush ahead to open the door for him like he was a king. When they entered the building, there were children in the backstage area. Dimash asked about why the children were there and was told that the children were performing, too. Dimash said that he does not share a stage with children and turned on his heel and walked out. Excuse my words but I thought, what an arrogant a$#hole!
Marcelito would have been playing with them, encouraging them and then clapping and praising their performance. I just love Marcelito ~ his voice, of course, but also for the wonderful human being that he is.

Marcelito is very humble and talented. He speaks very limited English and no Italian but is able to listen to songs and learn them. Listen to his Hallelujah Pentotonix version, you'll love it. Great reaction to a very special guy

It was commented that he was growing up. He was abandoned on the streets at age 7 (until mid teens) by his mother and his father was was in prison. Both voices are his imagination, no falsetto. His singing evolved as he comforted himself when he was scared, hungry and alone. He is world renowned, has a wife and children, but is still humble. He gives and supports those in need in his childhood town.
Marcelito Pomoy is definitely in the elite singing bracket. He blows people out of the water. What is more amazing is the fact that he never ever had a real training or lessons in singing, he's self-taught. The more you react to him the more you will be in awe. I saw him perform on America's got talent 2. I knew he looked and sounded familiar. He's quite good. At first I thought there was a woman singing with him. That's amazing how he can do that.
It definitely threw me for a loop!
His cough action at the end is his casting out of the female voice. One of the sound technicians had commented that he must have a woman trapped inside him, so he followed through with the joke. He is a funny character, a great singer and a very compassionate, humble person.
It was a lot more fun being in my 20s in the 70s than it is being in my 70s in the 20s!!!

I have been watching for you to do a few of my favorites. I came across this a bit late, but wanted to share a couple of thoughts. There is much to know about Marcelito and the fans ahead of me have done well. Some reactors scoff and try to explain his talent as a parlor trick. The beauty of his singing makes that argument ridiculous. His native language is Filipina, yet he just reproduced Celine's French-tinged English and Andrea's Italian - flawlessly. I describe his talent in this way: he has a completely unique memory that allows him to capture every nuance that he hears and then - his magnificent voice allows him to recreate it precisely. That explains his unusual ability to create a purely female voice. I have heard no other male singer that can actually produce that precise sound - and I'm 85. That strange thing that he does with his mouth after the song is because the Sound Engineers were teasing him about having a 'female voice' so he was 'removing' it. Marcelito is humble with a great sense of humor and a charming stage presence. Well, enough - I thought you might enjoy more insight into this gifted singer.

Bob, there is an 11 member (5 women, 6 men) A Cappella ensemble called "Voctave" to which I think you would enjoy reacting. Although Voctave has numerous TH-cam videos, I recommend that you start with their "Disney Princess Medley" (2017) and then "Disney Love Medley" (late 2015).
Note: The "Disney Love Medley" was recorded when Voctave had only 8 members. It features Kirstin Maldonado of Pentatonix fame and Jeremy Michael Lewis of the Acousticats. That video currently has 32 million views.
Impossible to compare Marcelito to anyone else. He was an abandoned baby & lived on the streets. father in prison. no formal training ever. He has total control over his instrument. Can duplicate any singer in any language. unlike other performers that can sing male/female high/low which is usual. Marcelito changes his instrument so it completely imitate the matter in which another singer things. By the way he’s doing this sitting! Dimash both parents were & are Opera stars. he was trained since infancy.very wealthy parents and very wealthy education. he is good at what he does but again no comparison to someone who really knows what they are doing. Marcelito speaks and sings in many languages. If you listen very carefully you will hear a Céline Dion subtle French Canadian accent that Marcelito masters in this song.

The best cover, by far, is "The Power of Love" where Marcelito imitates Celine Dion's rendition of Jennifer Rush's original. IMHO, this cover is actually better than Celine Dions. You will notice that Marcelito's cover is less nasal.

To add to the previous comment, Marcelito was abandoned by his Mother at age 2 yrs.his father was in jail and eventually was adopted but ended up on the streets at 7 yrs old. He got little odd jobs and one was tending some farmers chickens. While singing to them he learned he had a large range. His wife Joanne believed he. was very talented and encouraged him to go to phillipines got talent and won. I still am furious some behind the scenes bull with Simon prevented him from winning. Seems Simon hasnt changed at all. I'm convinced Marcelito was sent to teach mankind we all have male and female in us I also think there's so many Phillipino good singers is because of their bone structure of their sculls and the nasal space is shorter and wider. My parents owned property at Blackhawk CO. Is that where you are?

Yes, He does this flawlessly. I saw him perform on America's Got Talent and he left the judges just as stunned as you were; maybe more so because you've listened to Dimash. He sings beautifully but I have yet to hear him to really bring his own sound to the songs he's done. He sings it as he's heard it.
I guess he should sing it however it touches his heart. As long as he's feeling it, I'm sure we'll feel it as well.

Marcelito has natural female voice.. He didn't trained to gain that skills thats why its easier for him to shift from female to male voice... Thats their difference i guess...
