    This is still my go to method for ribeyes. Comes out just right every time! I appreciate the precise times.

    Nice job ... thanks for the info. My son just bought me a large green egg. When I start it I just use three of the starting squares and open it all up and close the lid .... 15 min it's up to 600. You can't complain about that cook ... nice job. Take care

    Great video! One tip: when you first reach 650 degrees, put on the green ceramic top while leaving the bottom vents open all the way. That way, you can control/put out the flames while maintaining the high temperature at 650.
    Once you put the steaks on, switch it back to the metal top. Too much contact with the flames could possibly give it a rubbery texture.

      Patrick Ma interesting tip. I've been doing more reverse searing lately however. Can't miss technique.

    Great video! Kamado grills are definitely the way to go. I use mine year round.

    I use a Brinkman smoker grill with apple wood and hickory mix but never would get that hot. Never marinated my Rib Eye steak. But used Lee and Perrin on other meats. Would love a green egg

    I do a 3-3-3 for medium rare. Try putting some lemon juice on plus some butter for the last few minutes. I know it sounds crazy but it is damn good. Thanks for sharing.

    You need some longer tongs, LOL... I have a splitter and get mine up to about 550, put them on about 3 minutes each side. Then off to the indirect side to finish cooking them. Good and entertaining vid!

      @dameamazing3103  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks!! And I do have longer ones. You and a good friend of mine said the same thing! If you see my other videos, I made sure to use them after this 😆😆

    How is the flavoring with big green egg coals compared to regular charcoal?

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jim Emerick it's lump coal...hickory wood I believe so flavoring is excellent. With no chemical residual taste at all.

    i see you have a weber kettle there. If you want to get cast iron grate check into the craycort for weber. You can throw it on the egg too.

      Well the Weber is 22.5 inches vs 24 inches for my BGE XL.

    • @spraguedawley
      @spraguedawley 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. Same setup I have, a 22.5 weber and XL BGE. Just set the 22.5 inch cast iron grate on top of the regular BGE grate. That way you have it for both grills! Thanks for the video. It was fun.

    You got enough charcoal and wood chips to do a 12 hour brisket @275

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      You're right about that! However this was the 2nd thing I'd ever cooked on the BGE so had to learn. Got it down at this point.

    Great video. I'm about to try my BGE for the first time. I'm doing ribeyes on the cast iron grid. I'm going to try the 2 min per side and closed for 4 min.

    Got a little weber and thats fine for me 😂

    • @dameamazing3103
      @dameamazing3103  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      VeniVidiAjax haha...I had 4...this was literally a week after I bought my Big Green Egg. I gave away my offset Brinkman. The gas grill is connected to the house gas line so left it there and I keep my Weber simply because my dad would disown me if I dis anything with it. He's a Weber man and I grew up on Weber. So still have 3 😅
