Looks like a great product, just bought one. I have one question. If the 3-Pin Anderson plug is only rated to 50A, why is there an 80A fuse? Should it be max 50A fuse?
G'day mate anderson plugs are rated at 600volts so pretty much anything we cuck at them within reason is fine we chuck in the larger fuse to protect form complete short,normally a dcdc can use 60 amps to run from alternator (a dcc charger will consume more amps to run than it can charge so a 50 amp fuse would not be large enough especially with 40 amp dcdc, hope this helps & thanks for watching Cheers Craig

I am sooo reluctant to use KickAss stuff anymore since they totally ghosted me with a warranty claim. I really loved their gear, just cant support a company that treats customers a badly as I have been!!

To use this on an 80 Series, from the starter battery (front), to the rear wagon area, routed either under and through the vehicle, which length would you recommend? 6.5m or 8m?
i would go the longer kit mate,no one ever complains about to much length lol,but seriously it is better to have more than you need & you can always cut to length & use the extra pins we supply with the kit

G'day there mate,you only need to use the blue wire if you have a late model vehicle with a smart alternator/charging system, if you do just connect the wire to a 12v power output that is only on when the engine is running & has no power when turned off If you don't have a smart charging system,then you dont need to connect at all Thanks for watching Cheers Craig

@@KickAssProducts I’ve got your (new) agm battery box, but it doesn’t the 3 pin Anderson. If I want to get your DCDC kit, do I need to get the 3 pin Anderson for the battery box?
@@willstaier3385 The ignition wire is required if you have a smart alternator. DCDC chargers want to see a certain charge to switch on, older fixed voltage alternators will give 14.5v constant once they engines started. The smart alternator will go 13v to 12.5 to 13v to 12.5v depending on load switching your DCDC charger on and off constantly
G'day again DYI,the midi fuse is a great idea,still the blade fuse is available in every servo in Australia though,i don't think there done yet Cheers Craig
@@KickAssProducts they may be available, they are also high chance to create high resistance joint. I see these things melt all the time because blade fuses are not designed for constant loads like midi or mega fuses are

How do your except people to run the thick 3 anderson head through small holes! Does it pull apart?
You click the terminals out of the Anderson plugs and feed them through one at a. time, then push back in and they lock with a click!

How much voltage drop are we getting with the full length of the old wiring kit for the 25 amp DC/DC charger?
