Where is the light test? Why didn't you rip one in half so we could see the middle? Get your damn light, and rip one of them in half!
Rip test doesn't matter anymore. They have black core and blue core for years now.
There are high quality proxies which are black core and white core so you cannot resell them as real and they cost about $20 for 10 cards, but make amazing proxies for cube and commander. Once in a sleeve and on a game table, nobody will know, but only look at the core and they are obvious.
However, there are also blue core fakes that cost a more if you are trying to be a scum bag. Not recommended. However, they will pass a rip test and then you will have to justify ripping the card (pay the person for damages).

The Chinese counterfeiters cannot get the backs right. I have NEVER seen a counterfeit with a 100% correct cardback and I have seen dozens.

probably because they are less scrutinized and easier to sell, alpha basic lands go for $35 USD

Also saw it and i have absolutely no clue of Magic the yuglioling. Also i thought the font wasn´t as sharp as rudys card (first island second was better)
There was a lot of variance in the earlier sets, especially with the coloring of the boarders and text alignment. I am not a trained mtg card sniffer so I cant tell if the color differences are to strong to be normal but Rudy did a few vids showing these discrepancies.
The color isn't indicative of it being fake.

Isn't there a trick you can do with those magnifying glasses people use to see if diamonds are fake or not, and you can see if the card's text is fuzzy or crisp?
Because if I recall, MTG cards are printed with a couple layers of ink and 99% of fakes aren't?
What you are referring to is being able to see the rosette pattern. In this video you can see the rosette patterns when he holds the cards up close and they do match.

Digital microscope are used instead it is a lot more practical. For the side also because the way the card is cut show on the side.

They have had blue core for years. Rip test doesn't matter anymore. There is also German black core proxies for obvious but high quality fakes
Check the green mana symbol with a loupe. If there are four dots in an L shape it’s legit

Idk if it's the camera or accepted variance, but the colors on the first land (green island with blue background) looked very subtly off to me when the God book card was put beside it.

@@voluntarism335 as just an average viewer of Alpha Investments I would say they are most likely real and that the subtle color differences I noticed are just normal variance from the printing process, other than that they looked identical. If they actually are fakes I wouldn't be surprised, but I don't think that is very likely.

He didn’t do all the tests looking at rosettes and such because I’m assuming it’s in the all the collectors best interest not to divulge everything they look for in fakes. Probably more things to be checked that us common folk wouldn’t even guess lol

Should have been addressed and said, yeah, I tested these and they are real, or they are fake. There shouldn't be guesswork of, my opinion is that....or, I think these are....with that claim that they are the best looking fakes produced.
Was thinking rudes. I and probably many others, would love to see a reply to the profs video on the reserved list. Obviously not the debate itself, but he mentioned an interesting tid bit on price of collection cards or high value vs its reprints (scroll rack, birds ect)

There's no reason for a light test at this point. They match the original alpha cards he has, and thus the authenticity has already been established.

Rudy . Had an example of its too good to be true . Saw at a garage sale a cheesy Pokémon binder full of revised dual lands for $100 being sold by a gentleman in his 40s who claimed they were his teenage sons and he wasn’t sure what they were . They looked good until I insisted to see one out of the binder and gave it the light test and it failed miserably. Then I noticed the off color of the green dot on the back . It was basically yellow . Thank u for all these types of videos man . Sincerely

yup, green dot test, quick review of the corners and fibers, spot checking the rosette pattern around the lettering. Lots of details to make it clear as a bell.

Pre-Order prices for the Elite Trainer Boxes surpass the $100 mark now that two Charizard cards were announced for the set. One even being released in English before Japanese. People are panic buying and shops are increasing their prices left and right. I haven't seen anything like that ever.

How is it that you have all of these cards worth thousands of dollars but lots of them are not in either sleeves or a binder.....?
Weigh them and place them under a decent microscope to check the printer dots to a confirmed legit one.

To have the same weight and printer marks on high magnification would mean they bought the exact type of printer, ink, card stock and have the exact printer settings, master design images, etc.
@@dutch_blades Is it impossible or improbable? what if these are actually fakes and out there in the market being bought, sold and played with? What if people literally have these fake cards? what will this do to the value of these cards if you cannot tell from the real to fake apart?
@@voluntarism335 aside from it being as close to impossible as it gets, even IF, it wouldn't do much to the price. It might, if demonstrated publicly, simply shift some of the value from all cards to those with provenence.

I am partial to beta -probly nostalgia that alphas rounded corners were marked when we played non sleeved, but the part i have been researching but can't answer is why some beta cards have white corner dots and some don't. I guess basalt monolith is known not too as error, but if you know? Ive heard basics may not have them, but I have beta basics that do
that probably has to do with the print centering
All cards that were changed between the alpha and beta printrun are missing the white dots. Volcanic island, red elemental blast (changed from instant to interrupt), twiddle, icy etc etc
